Smith’s Bar & Grill is nestled in Paddington, London, it is the first place you see when you walk under the bypass behind Paddington Station. Smith’s is an ideal venue for weddings, on-location filming, major launch events, and multi-stage music and entertainment events.
The whole venue can comfortably accommodate up to 150 people for a sit-down dinner and up to 400 standing. Its proximity to Paddington Station (50 yards from the Hammersmith & City Underground entrance) makes it quick to get to for those coming from out of town.

Most importantly, enjoy unlimited prosecco, bellini and mimosas for 90 minutes, all just for £35 per person. Available every Saturday, 12pm - 5pm.

    The food was lovely and the setting was great. Especially sitting outside on a nice day. The service was quite poor to be honest. We were upsold bread and olives to come whilst waiting for our mains however they came with our main food. We waited a very long time between courses and for drinks and the staff seemed to ignore us and chat amongst themselves. We asked for the bill multiple times before it came and then we decided to go inside to pay instead as by then we were a bit sick of waiting. We asked for the service charge to be removed which was no problem and they explained they had a lot of new staff undergoing training. I would go back as it was a lovely place but the service let it down. I wouldn't go there for a quick meal and would definitely be prepared to flag down passing staff and to spend some time waiting!!

    Food was ok. Service was sub par. Took forever. Once food was delivered we never saw our waiter again. Would have ordered more drinks but no one was around. Had to flag down someone to pay. Won’t go back.

    I went to this place with my friends to have a good time and eat nice food. The service was quite disappointing, first of all, we ordered the drinks and took 42 minutes for them to bring our drinks. After we order the food they left us waiting for 1h and 10 minutes to bring our food which was very disappointinging for the price. There are not many options for cocktails and most of them are overpriced.

    We visited in a sunny Saturday at 6pm & can only describe our visit as chaotic. The table to our left were served their meals but had no cutlery, the table to our right ordered a sparkling water , the bottle of water arrived without a glass, ice or lemon. We ordered fish & chips & asked for vinegar & we were brought balsamic. We were sat outside & on numerous occasions we noticed waiting staff coming outside with meals but were unsure which table the order was for. Needless to say we did not pay the service charge. I cannot blame the staff but I do blame their managers for the apparent lack of training.

    Booked the bottomless brunch, ordered the bottomless brunch, did not receive the bottomless brunch. Service was very slow, the food wasn't great and after waiting over an hour for dessert we gave up.

    What a beautiful restaurant and setting. The food was amazing. We had the bottomless brunch, which was great value for money. Two courses and our glasses were never empty, constantly kept being topped up. We had a wonderful young lady serving us, we wish we got her name but she was Spanish and only been here a few months, a real credit to Smiths Bar and Grill. Will we return? In the blink of an eye! ❤️

    Great outdoor seating. Warm welcome and table clearing process. Once seated, menus received fairly quickly but then very long delay to order. Would benefit from on table qr code for self order to reduce delays.

    Great location & product, but seemed very understaffed as soon it was a 30 min wait to order food & then another hour before it arrived. The staff were pleasant & trying their best but just not enough of them to maintain quick service during the lunch peak which doesn’t work for business lunches !

    Food and service were really good. I had Calamari for starters, and then the Sirloin Beef for main. Food was served quickly, and the the restaurant has both in doors and out door seating.

    The food was nice but they got the drinks very wrong and we were left waiting for what we wanted and then when the drinks arrived they were the wrong ones and then when the bill arrived there were three too many drinks on there that we didn’t have.

    We were a group of 5 friends. Some food portions were v small. Cheese board was 20£ with 2 slivers of cheese. Dessert wasn’t very good. The service was nice. A little soulless in there but was nice and buzzy in the area so would go back but choose a different restaurant.

    Was shown to my pre booked table, explained that I was waiting for a guest for a business meeting, who was shown to a different table. It was not until after 15 minutes I called the guest who was already in the same restaurant!!! Very frustrating. Staff kept trying to take our side of olives and peppers away after repeatedly asking them to be left .

    Door was wide open and a cold breeze permeated our booth ten meters away. The have too many staff on reception to the detriment of their bar staff levels which may account for the suboptimal courtesy, response and welcome of the bar staff. This has been the case on my past 6 visits. Food was alright, but overpriced. What should cost £3.50 will cost £5.50. The guacamole was good but served with just 6 tortilla chips ( inadequate ). My beer was the wrong brand and when I complained the barman doubled down that the Pale Ale I had been served was actually an Italian lager. There was a wad of damp grey cardboard on the inside of my pint glass which I wiped away but by that time I had lost interest in pointing out the obvious for fear of distracting from my birthday ambience. The fact that a booking for 5 persons didn’t merit table service until I asked for it was something the venue should address. Perhaps utilise some of the reception staff that stand around looking at a computer screen.

    Ordered 4 roasts, they were very tasty and well presented but the food was cold when it got to the table. Gravy jugs only filled half way and expected to be enough for two people. Would not recommend going for a Sunday roast. May be better as a bar rather than for food. One young man was very helpful, brought us blankets as we were sat outside. However his colleagues kept forgetting to bring us our order (which is why our food must have been cold) and prioritised their conversations over service.

    We ordered a starter of bread and olives, which arrived after our main course! No real apology, we didn’t really want to eat it after the main course but nobody offered to take it away or even ask if we still wanted it. No adjustment to the bill but service changes were added automatically. Sounds petty but it was quite annoying at the time and could have been easily rectified or recovered with a little thought.

    Food was very good and fesh, but too expensive for what it was. Prices are also misleading, because you really need to order some sides to make it resemble a meal. We were sitting in front of the waiter but they were too fond of themselves than caring for us. One guy really gave a show in the beginning, but it was also the one that brought us just one dessert for our three kids, joking that somebody gave two extra spoons for the other two to share, but in fact we ordered three desserts. We had to ask after some minutes for the other two icecreams, and then they finally realized these were still in the kitchen ... The bar's music was so loud you could hear it all over the restaurant. In the bar was almost noone, so I think the waiters just liked the music (?) themselves. Really poch, but we got better service in some simple pubs.

    My friend ordered from the full menu whereas I ordered from the set course menu. Depending on the main you order from the set menu it is advised to order a side dish for sure. All the dishes were amazing and came out in a timely manner. Rebecca was taking the orders and serving the food and she was just amazing, the knowledge on food, outstanding customer service and always smiling. It was my friend's birthday so she sang happy birthday which was so lovely. I will be visiting this branch again. Decor of the restaurant was very nice too. One thing I would of appreciated would have been the sanitiser station actually having hand sanitizer in it.
