The food was all very good however the gentleman on front of house was swearing and shouting at his staff like an episode of Fawlty Towers. It didnt make for a pleasant experience and the staff had to apologise to the diners for his behavior twice.
Meeting friends before they fly back to the States, always a good vibe in the restaurant, great views & consistently good food. Its busy but the staff, service & food is always good without huge delays & the staff are always polite & friendly.
Tasty seafood. Nice size portions. Delicious wine. Very pleased.
Fantastic meal and fantastic views alongside the Thames riverfront.
Nice restaurant, nice view, perfect very tasty and fresh food. Service was good as well till the end of our dinner. The manager made a big mistake with our bill, lucky I checked it before make a payment. They add to the bill some drinks which we didn't ordered. With this drinks our bill was £50-60 higher than supposed to be. But when I showed this to the Manager, he said sorry and changed it. So at the end we paid the actual bill. Except this, everything was fine. I hope it will not happen again. So, what I can say to the future visitors, double check your bill, before paying.
Had a lovely meal at smiths Sunday lunch time.
Had wonderful table for two with fantastic view (table 36).
Food was tasty and delicious.
It’s been a few years since we came to Smiths and we were so happy we can back. The service was so much better than it’s eve been. We had the best table as well. Perfect view !
Fabulous dishes, staff are very attentive, beautiful views and the tastiest fish in London. Perfect date night
This restaurant never fails to impress. Wonderful food, service, views - the whole package. My favourite restaurant ever !
A most enjoyable experience. Outstanding Dover Sole, Hake and side dishes.
We booked lunch for 3 people and arrived early. We were sat at the bar and ordered drinks and within minutes the maître D came to collect us to take us to a table right in front of the window with superb views of the Thames and Shard. We knew we were going to order from the set lunch menu as it was superb value for money at £23.50 for 2 courses and £28.50 for 3 courses. There isn't many places where you get 8 choices of starters and main courses to choose from. We knew Smiths was renowned for its fish so to have had anything else would not have made sense and we weren't disappointed. The peppered mackerel fillets were divine, perfectly cooked and accompanied with a really light horseradish cream, peppercorn sauce and watercress. The homemade fish cake and homemade tartare sauce were also excellent as were the Tempura tiger prawns. My only slight criticism at this point was that it said it was served with an Asian salad but as the dish was hot it was more like a stir fry than salad. Moving on to the main courses, what value for money!!! I had a whole Cornish plaice with seafood butter and brown shrimps. Absolutely delicious and huge! The seabass dish came with 3 fillets and 2 tiger prawns and again the herb crusted haddock was a really good portion size. You were allowed to choose one side dish ( you wouldn't have wanted any more! ). The hand cut chips were amazing and the seasonal veg was Romanesco cauliflower, fine beans and carrots which actually tasted like a carrot! There was no way we were going to fit in dessert, mainly because we were full and also on a time limit to get to the theatre.
Smiths was recommended to us and I would thoroughly recommend it to others. It was full, busy and buzzing.
Never fails to deliver. Have been here many times and each time is as good as the last. Calimari, sea bass and salmon with hollandaise were all superb.
The most comprehensive seafood menu I have seen. A couple of friends wanted to go out for a catch up and lunch. I had only been to this restaurant once for a Christmas do, so thought I would give it a try. Fantastic food, wine and service, would recommend to any seafood lover. Enjoy, we did.
I have visited Smiths at wapping on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food, service and ambience are perfect and the set lunch menu, which is extensive, is fantastic value for money. The restaurant is set alongside the Thames and is perfectly located for a walk to St Katherine’s Dock. I highly recommend a visit to this jewel!
Great food and service. Ambience was very nice as well.
Never experienced in 50 years
Smiths never fails to impress us!
I was slightly disappointed by the fact they forgot to mention it was my husbands birthday (even though I included in the request comments before booking). But my husband loves Smiths so I don’t think he would have noticed!
Everything was very good - the food, the service and the view!
Impeccable service and lovely food. The waiter saw us outside on the balcony after the meal, trying to take a family photo and came out to help!
Brilliant food plenty to choose from, good value
Friendly staff with views over the river Thames and Tower Bridge
Truly excellen food with excellent service and a great atmosphere
We had happy dinner with beautiful piano music. This restaurant has riverside view. All staffs were so friendly. Food was very nice. People were too loud. . But I want to recommend to my friends.
Lovely setting right on the Thames overlooking Tower Bridge. This restaurant has a nice ambience - relaxed but still make a fuss of you in a good way. Food was absolutely delicious, so worth paying extra. Would recommend for a special occasion.
Smith's never disappoints. The food is fabulous, the staff professional and friendly and the location and view is amazing. One of the best restaurants in London.
I have visited Smiths in Onger on a few occasions and have always had good service and excellent food, but I must say Smiths in Wapping is exceptional service and exceptional food.
Thank you guys for a lovely lunch.
We had a great Sunday lunch, all eating different fish dishes and all delicious. It was a great birthday celebration, thank you Smiths!
Very good service. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice ambience. Good food.
Weren’t offered the set lunch time meal which we noticed on the billboard on the way out.
Thought that was a bit strange. That is the only negative comment.
Fantastic food, great wine list at reasonable prices and superb location.
This is by far the best restaurant for good, food service and ambience I have ever been in. Service is excellent and everyone very pleasant and ameanable.
Great setting, ambience and attentive service. All of the ingredients, cuts of fish were excellent as was most if the cooking.
However the particularly fine looking piece of halibut Mrs W had was overcooked which she didn't mention, being a typical British diner. I only realised when she said she had eaten most but not all of it and I tasted it. I hope this was a one off as my mother in law loves the place and we will be returning.
Great food & service! Would happily recommend this restaurant.
We love everything about this restaurant, the waiters are always so courteous and cheerful the food is always excellent it has a very good choice of beers as well as wine and the whole ambience is lovely. It was an extremely hot day when we went for lunch but the restaurant was lovely and cool. As we sat looking out on the Thames watching the boats go up and down as well as a spectacular view of the Shard and Tower Bridge it gave us such a great sense of well being, we can't wait to go back.
Can't fault the food, service or view over the Thames but our was a business dinner with overseas visitors and the unnecessarily loud piano and singing made conversation difficult, back to lunches from now on.
Second time I’ve been to celebrate my birthday and intend on returning a lot sooner. Staff are wonderful and accommodating, food is top class and made to perfection and the view/vibes are spectacular!
Love this place!
Best restaurant in London. Superb food, service & location. A must for all fish lovers but still great if you're not so keen on fish
Great all round
Once again a very pleasant dining experience whereby the staff were polite, courteous and extremely attentive. All our needs were met in impeccable fashion which left us both stating how professional the service was and impeccable the staff were.
A must visit place for seafood fans as you will be more than satisfied with the quality and sumptuousness of the food.
Smiths was my favourite restaurant and I had such a disappointing experience this time. My boyfriend was extremely well looked after, continuously asked if he needed another drink and how he’s food was. I was completely ignored and had 1 glass of wine to his 6 beers. I paid for dinner and was ignored when leaving the restaurant by all the staff I walked past and yet they all said ThankYou and Good evening to him.
Treat your customers as equals and look after everyone dining with you. Not just the men.
I love Smiths. The setting, the food, the service. Absolutely first class!
Superb food as equalled with excellent service. Staff extremely attentive and knowledgeable on food. Great atmosphere and would certainly come back again. Nothing was too much to ask for. We loved every minute of it. Thank you for helping to make my Mums Birthday so special.
