Simply brilliant as usual. Fantastic value with the fixed price menu, superb cooking, presentation and service.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
very attentive service. great fish. good location.
A great venue serving very well prepared fish. It is on the down side rather noisy but the quality of the food and service make it a very good destination. it is the fourth visit I have made and `I would certainly recommend a friend to go there.
Excellent Service, but food is average. Nice atmosphere; white tablecloths and nice view to river Thames.
Probably the best fish in London. Excellent quality, well cooked and presented. Great location with view of Tower Bridge . Tables well apart so easy to talk.
I have written rave reviews in the past but this experience did not live up at all. Returning with my in laws 3 weeks after trying engaged outside the restaurant after a lovely meal, it was a disaster mostly due to the table placement. I will never sit in the main dining room again, surrounded 360 by noise. Lift (with a 90th birthday going on it got lots of use), piano, kitchen, diners, 2 birthday parties, waiters station with lots of chat, cutlery crashing. It was horrible and couldn’t hear my party. Food was Good but prefer an elegant dinner to a Sunday roast. But just totally ruined a special day. In future if I returned it would be for evening meals and at the back where there are smaller parties .
Lovely evening and food delicious. We had starter, main and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed all courses. Staff attentive and friendly. The desserts are bigger than expected. Great views across the river to Tower Bridge. Will visit again
Fantastic meal for my girlfriends birthday. Thank you very much for everything!
Brought our daughter and her boyfriend to smiths on Friday night for her 18th and she loved it as much as we do. Service is amazing food is to die for.
Celebrtaing our wedding anniversay, and we were not disappointed a fantastic meal and service.
Good value, considering the quality.
An excellent meal and a great location.
Have been before, and it was to the same high standard.
We will definitely visit again.
The food, the ambiance and the service was top class! Best restaurant in London!
Even though was lovely food service ect .. to much agro to get too but would defo recommend Smiths Ongar.
Good food, simple and well cooked. Good atmosphere and staff
Great meal, lovely views of the thames. If you love seafood or other choices a good place to go.
There was nothin I could fault. We will definitely be returning
A lovely light restaurant in quiet location. The fish was so fresh even on Sunday lunch-time. The whole meal was delicious. The staff was excellent, fantastic service without being obvious. Waitress Betina gave us a dessert and two glasses if prosecco for free as it was our anniversary. The price was mid-range for the quality. Would definitely go again. 5 stars
Would recommend Res to all my friends, the only thing I did not like was to be of table by 2.45
That was not a problem we was of by that time, but it was mentioned in tex messages has well
Apart from that very good ,and got the table I ask for
Thank you for an amazing dinner to celebrate my birthday with my family.
Will definitely keep coming back
Food is amazing
This is one of my favourite restaurants! As usual, the food was outstanding - a comment that was echoed by everyone at my table. The service was faultless- attentive without being over the top. A truly wonderful lunch.
A major attraction of the restaurant, apart from the wonderful food and service, is the location by the river and the views of Tower Bridge. However the table configuration is not ideal. There are no "couples" tables adjacent to the windows. All couples tables are along the rear wall so that one person has to sit with their back to the window and is therefore unable to enjoy the views of the river and Tower Bridge. Although we requested a table by the window we weren't able to be accommodated as we were just a couple. Having said that, we were given the only table in the middle of the room from where we were both able to enjoy the views while we ate.
Lovely food and a great selection of wines (especially if you like Burgundy). The fish was fresh and dishes creative and the service was exceptional. Will come back.
Really enjoyed our lunch here. The staff were really professional and the food was fab and tgreat value for money. Will definitely return
We went there on our Golden Wedding anniversary. It was perfect for us. They congratulated us on arrival and served our dessert on special anniversary plates. The food, service and ambience were of the highest standard.
Excellent selection, good quality and wonderful service.
Stunning views of the Thames, impeccably prepared seafood and some of the best service I’ve received in London. Great for a special occasion, business dinner or just a great meal out.
My dinner companion’s beverage request was met with confusion. The staff valiantly tried to bring the drink as requested. I am impressed with their professional response and effort to please a very tired guest.
Beautiful atmosphere/views/service and FANTASTIC food...
Always quality and always memorable.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Faultless .thanks to all who made it great
Everything about it was fantastic!! Definitely going back and would recommend it to anyone who's thinking of going!!! 5 STARS all the way
Everything about our experience was first class. It’s a long time since we have experienced such attentive service and excellent food.
The food here was amazing and the service was impeccable! My boyfriend absolutely loved it and although we did have a few drinks which meant the bill was a little expensive, the set menu had a great choice and was very reasonable; I highly recommend a visit!
Food was its usual very high standard. Between the four of us we had steak, fish and seafood - all was cooked to perfection.
Service was attentive and at times, in my opinion, over attentive. I felt we were being watched and rushed - it seemed every time I put my wine glass down, it was topped up. I am a regular customer and will definitely return, but I think this time, they tried too hard. It wasn’t that they needed the table as there were tables next to us that were empty through to the end. At one point we had four waiters fussing around us - it was too “busy”.
Following dessert, they brought out a “Birthday plate” for my sister in law’s birthday, which was a lovely touch. The waiter then asked her if she would like a “small drink” “perhaps a glass of red” (she had been drinking white with the meal). She accepted and as it was only her that was asked, we assumed it was complimentary to celebrate her birthday. It was irritating to see we had been charged £7.00.
The food is fantastic but the prices have risen and there are other restaurants around of equal quality without the expense. £360 for four of us - two glasses of Prosecco, two bottles of wine (£c.£28 each) and two beers, four average priced starters, same for mains and two desserts. (And one glass of red!). We will return, but perhaps not quite as soon as we usually would.
Not in an obvious location, but does have stunning views over the river and Tower Bridge, as well as a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Given the quality of the food and the prices, could have very easily become 'snooty', but instead the waiting staff were full of great recommendations, advice and provided attentive, but unobtrusive, service. The main reason to go there - the seafood - is simply done and simply delicious, while the vegetarian selections, although not extensive, were surprisingly good and the desserts divine. As a local, am already planning next trip back...
Excellent restaurant with brilliant service even though the restaurant was full.
The food was piping hot and presentation could not be faulted, add this to the view and it makes a perfect evening. Would strongly recommend.
Wow... What an amazing restaurant, from the location, to the staff and food. From the moment we arrived they knew who were, celebrating a birthday and allergies. Shame I had to ask for gluten free bread but hey I got my half lobster which was out of this world. I just can’t fault anything about this place, a defo must for any fish lovers out there.
We had the set 3course lunch plenty of choice from the menu and generous portion sizes. The service was attentive without being intrusive. A lovely afternoon we’ll worth a visit couldn’t find anything that could be improved upon.
Attentive service. Great food and value. Excellent view of Tower Bridge and River Thames. What’s not to like? Highly recommended.
