Smiths Restaurant Wapping
Smith's, famous for fish, was initially established in 1958 and today offers fine dining facilities. Should you not find the time that you are looking for, please contact the restaurant directly as there may be availability.
This was the best meal we have had in a long time. Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked and pleasant service - all with a view of Tower Bridge. Can't recommend Smiths highly enough.
My wife and I were taken to the Ongar restaurant at end of last year and was very impressed with the service from the staff and quality of the food.
Very close friend we’re celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary so decided to take them to the Wapping restaurant for lunch.
Brilliant time, excellent service and food.
Mentioned when booking the anniversary and dessert was served in an anniversary plates for our guests.
They were so impressed too!
A lovely restaurant, in great location, staff are friendly & helpful, myself and our family have enjoyed many quality meals at your restaurant and intend to enjoy many more.
We visited for Sunday lunch. Everything was as you would expect from Smiths. My only gripe was that we were sat on the middle table in front of the piano. Although the pianist was very good, it was just too loud and intrusive. To the point that we had coffees in the bar area to escape it.
Our friends had not visited Smiths before and I was disappointed that their experience wasn’t as good as we had told them it would be.
First time to the wapping restaurant and it didn’t disappoint-food was delicious and service excellent and the view was stunning too, i would definitely recommend as standards are very high
Fantastic view day or night. Food and service are superb. Waiter very attentive to your needs but not overpowering.
This is one of the most reliable restaurants in London, if your lucky you will have a spectacular view of tower bridge
The quality of the fish and seafood is second to none and fantastic value for money.
Attentive service very polished and well orchestrated.
One of my favourites
Smiths also has a sister restaurant in Ongar Essex equally as good quality but not the same special location.
Beautiful as always, with amazing food and great food. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Superb meal and views. Outstanding food and service.
Had a business lunch and the service and food was excellent. Will definitely return.
Great restaurant ,our favourite place to eat . Perfect .
Consistently reliable as ever. Good food over all courses, wide choice, discreet and efficient service. Late evening booking this time but made to feel welcome and not hurried out after dinner had ended. Greek wine was a good first time choice and hopefully not a last. In my experience a hard act to beat in London in this line of cuisine.
Overall and excellent experience. Superb location, excellent food and outstanding service. The set lunch is outstanding value. The young Italian girl who attended to our table was excellent. We really appreciated her advice and her sense of humour. She added to what was a super day for us. Will definitely go back the next time we’re in London.
Set menu is excellent value. Good service with an excellent view
Perfect restaurant, lovely view, great ambience, perfect service. Would visit again
Lovely restaurant. The staff were really accommodating. My friend had no childcare at the last minute & the manager allowed her to bring her 1 year old even though it’s restaurant policy to not have any children under 5.
Truly lovely meal, food was amazing staff so attentive but not intrusive.
We will be back !
Superb restaurant with awesome views of shard and tower bridge. They gave us a great table for a special occasion as requested. Service was attentive without being over the top. It was perfect. Food was exceptional. Highly recommended.
Wonderful evening, excellent food and drink, served by very attentive staff. Seated by the window as requested and made my wife’s dessert special by serving on a ‘birthday plate’. Chefs and staff deserve applause for the standard and presentation of their food.
Fantastic food and service as always. Never a disappointment
Fantastic. Excellent food and service and the view from our table was amazing.
There is simply nothing not to like about Smith's Wapping. Its Thames-side location is delightful, the food and service exemplary and the prices, given its proximity to the City, very reasonable.
The service from booking the table to leaving the restaurant were extremely helpful, polite and couldn’t do enough for you. Each course of the food was delicious and served promptly. We will be making this a regular outing!
This was our second visit and we took along two American guests who were impressed with the overall ambience and, of coarse the view from our window seat.
Service was poor though.
I asked for a spicy tomato juice with the drinks but realised it wasn't spicy when drinking it - decided it wasn't worth calling the waiter.
Given we had fish, myself the fried cod and chips, i would have expected in this level of restaurant for tartare sauce to be offered but i had to eventually ask for it and wait.
overall, it was the service that slightly detracted from our previous oval enjoyment and which made us want to go back.
Very good and delicious food!
The sevice was great until the dessert, where we ended up waiting around 30 mins to order and one of our coffees was forgotten. However, could tell that the staff were under pressure as it was very busy.
The atmosphere was lovely with the pianist.
Will definitely visit again.
I have been to Smiths twice in the last few months now, and I will be a regular from now on.
Service is exceptional - knowledgeable, professional people doing their jobs well and kindly.
Food is really superb, and manages to juggle a traditional English approach to fish and seafood with more modern and international influences; while the standard of ingredients and preparation is outstanding, no matter what you order.
I won't comment much on the specific dishes we ate, as specials and the fish available change over time of course, but I can definitely recommend the Smiths' specialities, which we certainly have tried.
It may be a bit out of the way here, unless you live nearby, but it is well worth travelling to if you don't.
Smiths has been around for a long time, and long may it continue!
The ambience is ideal for a romantic meal. The service is perfect; constantly attentive staff. The food and drink choice is vast, whilst the quality of the meals is very high. We will definitely return. Thank you for making my husband’s birthday amazing.
Fantastic restaurant. Never fails to please. Service and staff great.
Great location, fantastic food and overall a wonderful and unexpected bonus for our weekend trip to London.
Smith’s was a wonderful experience, food was outstanding, fantastic service, wonderful location.
This is my second visit after having been recommended by my son who eats here often and have to say this visit was even better than the first. Service was excellent staff were really genuinely nice and wanted to serve us. Were not pushy. The food was excellent, I had the Spanish octopus and it’s the nicest I have ever had, the sea bass was perfect only wish there was a little more sauce . Dessert was heaven and all portions were much more acceptable than my last visit. I was looking for somewhere to bring a party of 8 and was reluctant after my first visit because of the portion sizes , however improving this time round I am considering to now bring the whole family. (As long as they don’t skimp again).
Our main waitress was lovely she had her hair pulled back and wore spectacles and had the most genuine 😊 smile. Well done Smiths
5 of us had 2 courses from the set menu and the food was wonderful
As always a lovely meal. Food and drink fabulous, staff fantastic and a beautiful setting.
As always a great meal, the turbot fillet was really good. Extremely efficient service. Both my guests were impressed . Great venue.
We had the lunch menu which had an excellent choice of meals. One of us is a coeliac and apart from the sweets there was a very good choice of gluten free options. There was only one gluten free option in the sweets but this was excellent. This is my second visit to this restaurant and I was not disappointed as the service and the food were both excellent.
Smiths always delivers, very nice starters, fishcake and pickled herring, the main of Skate and battered Peterhead Haddock did not disappoint either. One small observation I was surprised not to be offered Tartare space with battered fish. The bread is excellent, worthy of an accolade on its own.
Have been several times before and have always enjoyed an excellent experience. This time was different in that the waiting staff were inattentive. I ordered a bottle of wine at the same time as ordering food. The starter arrived but no wine. I had to attract the attention of a staff member to ask where the wine was. Incredibly, it still took more than 5 minutes to arrive, after which it was placed in an ice bucket 15 feet away. I had to signal multiple times for staff to retrieve it to stop up our glasses. Ridiculous.
There's a first & last time for everything so I'm willing to give it a pass on this occasion. If it happens again, however, I won't be returning.
Other than that, the food was excellent, as always.
Comfortable dining experience with attention to detail on all fronts and succulent fare to suit all palates. A consistently reliable choice for business and casual dining occasions.
