Fantastic, tasty food. Waitress gave us some recommendations as this was our first trip to Smokey’s. the sharing platters are great value and a huge amount of food. Friendly staff lovely seafront position. What more can you ask? We will be going back soon.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! This my 5th time coming to smokeys since I found it a couple of months ago, and can I just say it is absolutely amazing, I live 2 hours away, deffo worth the drive. Huge portions definitely worth the money, and love lovely staff!!!
Experience was Ok, Food wasn't that great, We went for 2 platters to Start and 3 Platters for main, Brisket very dry, BBQ chicken had un-rendered skin and BBQ sauce brushed on top, so a very fatty taste, Ribs were good, Sausage was good, for a BBQ Smoke House you would have thought the BBQ food would have been good. Mac and Cheese balls were very over cooked. Garlic mushrooms, were sliced mushrooms in a watery butter mix, no taste of Garlic, Shame as we were looking forward to it and a catch up.
Great as ever, went for brunch on my sons birthday.
Cheerful waitresses, we hoped to sit outside but it was overcast so we opted to sit in.
We had the breakfast burrito, full English, ham and eggs Benedict and delicious blueberry pancakes. All excellent as ever and plenty of food - we were all full after. My only criticism would be the tea and that is largely because I am fussy and the milk was very creamy so I actually couldn’t drink it.
Not a bad price either.
Food was yummy and huge portions. Probably wouldn’t recommend if you are just stopping for a quick bite as food takes a little while to come out which is understandable for the quality of it (about 30mins we waited). We weren’t in a rush so didn’t bother us and food was lovely.
Only downfall is that drinks took a long time to arrive and we only ordered a coke float and a cider... only came just before dinner was served, we started to wonder if they had been forgotten. Other than that, the waiters were friendly, food was nice and would come back again.
Excellent all round experience. The food was of a high quality and was served nice and hot. The portion size was amazing and I doubt that anybody would leave the restaurant hungry.
I would particularly receoomend the Clam Chowder which was first class, as was the meat platter for two to share.
Our waiter was very friendly and we were served efficiently.
The portions are huge. Make sure you are hungry and I suggest just having a main course.
The food is very tasty. Great atmosphere next to the beachfront.
Only slight downer is because it’s outside people can smoke.
We found this restaurant while driving down to Brighton to see a show and decided to give it a go based on the good reviews. It did not disappoint. The baby back ribs were fantastic (and the portions are large). The waitress who served us was knowledgeable, very friendly and extremely helpful throughout. We sat outside (admittedly it was a lovely evening) and found it a great atmosphere. Give Smokeys a go - I really don't think you will be disappointed.
A pre show meal that did not disapoint. Great menu, drink selection, service and generous portions - will go again
It's a nice seafront restaurant. Staff was very welcoming professional and nice, food is OK
We had a brilliant time at Smokey’s for my birthday. Good food and great staff.
Nice place to eat outside on Brighton seafront and people watch. Great views of sea, west pier and the i360. We had a sharing smoked meat platter with fries and coleslaw. Good food and great value for money. A bottle of good Spanish Crianza red wine. Went down very well with our meabl. Would recommend ,worth a visit and Regency Square underground car park just around the corner.
As we stayed overnight in the Granville Hotel , we had a wonderful breakfast outside in the morning sun. Eggs Benedict Royale for me and full English for mu partner. Its the 1st time l have seen him beaten and actually leave a little food.
So well done Smokeys.
Discovered this great little place on one of our visits to Brighton and now book for each visit. Recommended to lots of friends who have always loved it too.
Lovely staff and great food!
Unfortunately all in all a disappointing evening. We were first sat at a table that was impossible to get into as it was so close to customers at the next table. The service was incredibly slow and items ordered were forgotten, Not enough cutlery on the table and only brought after food had arrived. Macaroni balls were frozen in the middle and other dishes were only just warm. Staff were indifferent. Food was overpriced for what it was and we would definitely not recommend it to anyone else.
Very slow service - our table gotta given to someone else which meant we had to sit in the busy loud area and couldn't hold a conversation with my partner due to the noise and asked to move and was told we couldn't. Food was luke warm and the portion size wasn't worth the money - the beef brisket was dry and rubbey. Think it has gone very down hill and felt very rushed on Saturday
Loved the food, service was great, leftovers were still delicious a day after. Had the baby back ribs, fell off the bones, just excellent service all round.
Great food as usual
One waitress not happy when we asked to sit at another table empty restaurant and wanted to sit us right next to the only other couple in the place ! .
Other waitress lovely
Been going to Smokey’s since it opened , great food great prices good portions
Had dinner here on a Friday night in April, not the busiest of nights but the food and service were fine. My ribs and chicken combo were great and suffice to say I struggled to finish the huge portions!
Thoroughly recommend you visit this place
The Brisket was bland and expensive. The chips / pork ribs were delicious. The pulled pork was ok. The Coleslaw one would expect to be homemade. The drinks weer ok. The service was good
Awesome meal, beef brisket was amazing! Lovely staff, good value. Highly recommend
Five of us ate here, starters were Nachos and a Chowder, Mains were vegetarian fajitas, quesadillas, and fish with chips, we also had some sides. Desserts, were American pancakes and Waffles. We had a lovely evening would definitely recommend.
Disappointed on this occasion. We visited Smokey’s when it first opened and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had smoked chicken fajitas which were melt-in-your-mouth good! Sadly this time the food was no where near as good. I went for the same meal and the chicken was definitely not smoked and was just covered in a gloopy sauce. It’s not pricey so you can only expect so much but it was mediocre. The portions are still enormous so perhaps they should reduce the portion size to try and achieve better quality. The service was friendly but the bar/entrance area looks a bit shabby now.
Service was swift and with a smile, food was hot and well presented, Good value for money
Would go there again
Attended based on recommendation from ex colleagues. Went for a date with my partner and had the BIG sharing platter between two. So much food. All delicious. Ribs were especially great. Would definitely recommend.
Was ok but we found the food portions are very large and the southern fried chicken burger had no southern fried flavour at all, was just fried breaded chicken.
Went there to celebrate an anniversary and the food left us feeling deflated ... The cocktails however were super yummy!
A recommendation by a friend in Brighton brought us to Smokey's. We were made welcome, the food was excellent with some authentic flavours. Staff were friendly and helpful despite being busy. Only downside was a very noisy table of diners celebrating St Patrick's Day. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing service and Delicious food! Brilliant price for the whole evening.
Fantastic meal again at Smokeys. Huge portions of tasty food representing good value for money.
Nice surroundings. Friendly staff. For special occasions a total winner.
Loved the pulled pork fajitas but tjeir pulled pork and beef brisket, awesome.
Good food large portions. Great ribs. Burgers. Excellent American diner
I was looking forward to visiting Smokeys before my daughters graduation, as it had been recommended by a friend. There were three of us for lunch, my son who had the brisket burger which he enjoyed and my daughter and I who each chose a salad and some nachos for naughtiness!
The food was ok, the atmosphere very lacking but the service was great, very attentive waitress.
The staff were really lovely and the food was amazing. I ordered a fajita and it was extremely delicious and well presented. Went for a valentines meal and was very lovely was very full afterwards
If you do go, make sure your hungry as the meals are large but so worth it. They will wrap up want you don't eat, so you can enjoy it at a later time. :-)
Great service and great food making a great evening out!
Apart from an extremely rowdy group of people at a table near us, it was great!
Nothing special or outstanding. Good location.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here - great food, I didn't expect it to be this good being an 'American Diner' but really enjoyed it - very generous portions too.
Beer that was off, cloudy full of sediment. Meal was very poorly presented, not that this would make any difference. Greasy cheap fries, with dried up bits of meat or smothered in sauce. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Won't be back.
We went to Smokey’s for my son’s 17th birthday treat (his choice). It was a real meat fest which is what he loves. Apparently it was very good and so much that we brought a doggie bag home!
I’m a non meat eater and had the bean burger - it was very good- I had coleslaw and pinto beans as sides. Coleslaw was delicious!
Fantastic food, highly recommended. Drinks fairly expensive at £7.95 per cocktail and price not quoted on menu which led to our drinks bill being as much as our food bill for 2 people with 2 drinks each. Overall though a fantastic night and cannot recommend the food at this place enough. Definitely be back.
Amazing food and amazing service can't wait to go back.
