I was not too fond of the female radio host DJ/MC calling out woman provocatively over the mic throughout the night. I am not sure how many of them were part of the crew, but my wife didn't feel comfortable walking by the table to use the restroom.
Our server was outstanding she made our dining experience quite enjoyable. She was very attentive even though Sobe's got very busy. The music from the band was awesome and kept us engaged the entire time.
Host was amazing
They didn't have Hookah and the service was horrible. We was asked to move in the middle of having drink to make room for another table. The server was MIA
Service, food, and live band were all awesome.
They seated us very quickly and the server was quite attentive. The mimosas were a nice balance and the food overall was great. The chicken with the french toast needed a little more seasoning, but the fish & grits were definitely the star of the show. Look forward to trying their happy hours/jazz nights.
Worst service ever!!!! I’ve never in my life had to wait an hour and a half for an appetizer and 2 and a half hours for an entree. They had a live band and music blaring through the speakers so everyone was screaming to have conversation because it was so loud. I will never go back here. Food was good but it took entirely too long to get food.
Wait staff was super nice but you can tell they were understaffed and desperate need of better communication and organization. Food was cold and overcooked. The drinks and music made up for the lack luster experience.
HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD.
After being seated, the amount of time it took for our waitress to come over, we were ready to order drinks and our food. Everything took an extreme amount of time to be brought to the table. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco for 3 people but only 1 glass was brought. When the food arrived, it wasn’t even hot. You could tell it was probably left in the kitchen. For the entire dining area, there was only 1 waitress but quite a few runners. If you aren’t properly staffed, then don’t seat all the tables to not overwhelm your staff. Even the couple next to us were brought 2 wrong orders of food and then left. I also think it’s ridiculous to have a $20 per person reservation fee, even though it’s applied to your bill. While the music was great, it was loud to where you feel like your yelling at the people at your table.
This restaurant was just awful!!!!! The service, attitude of the management, and the food were dreadful. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Worst service ever , why pay for a reservation days in advance , if it’s not ready when you get there . Then wait for 45 and not get a hello or glass of water
Warning* Warning* Warning* Warning* Warning* Warning* Don’t waste your time nor money!!!! Deposit required reservations?? A TOTAL WASTE!!! Hostess charges out the door. “ Aye Y’ALL we at capacity” (Really?) My response..”I have a reservation” A paid reservation? was the response to my statement.. After 5mins of confusion, we’re seated to a wet table. Siting there in awe, the waitress responded to our expressions and said. “ Oh, that’s why he asked me for a rag, Sorry.” She then said, the kitchen is backed up, so no food orders now but I can take y’all drink orders.
At that point, in disgust we left. All I can say, this was another attempt of support small local business that “LOOK LIKE ME” and I keep coming up short in Prince Georges county, again and again.
P.S. A refund for the reservation would be greatly appreciated
Great ambience. The DJ last Friday 11/06/21 was great. The drinks were good however there was delay in us getting our food and orders were incorrect or missing. We were compensated by the manager for it as we had a large group and understand there is a staff shortage. Overall 4/5.
We had a reservation for 7pm and we waited 10 minutes for the hostess to greet us. The waitress was good but spilled liquor on my husband’s. She apologized profusely but didn’t offer any type of desert or a percentage off the bill.
SoBe had a very nice atmosphere and the food was really good.
Greeted and seating preference accommodated. Had a waiting area for me to avoid interaction with too many strangers during this pandemic. Host and wait staff all wore masks.
Drinks were served cold we had a carafe of mimosas with mango puree and a bloody maria made with my favorite tequila.
Food was served hot. We both ordered chicken and french toast. French toast had graham crackers. They should prepare a batch without the crackers because it’s not everyone’s choice in french toast. Otherwise delicious even without the syrup.
I went for brunch. It was my second time & they didn’t disappoint. My food was HOT just how I prefer. The service was great along with the atmosphere. The only difference this time is that there wasn’t a DJ or music.
This was our first time at SOBE. We wenr there for Brunch and had a really great experience there. They has a DJ playing good music. Our waiter Aaron, was very attentive and friendly. The only thi f we would complain about is the the Bellini's were served out of plastic flutes and there was no puree (it tasted like Asti Spunanti). The Mimosas were good and served in a glass flute. Other than that we lived the service and would definitely return.
Very very bad , waited over 30 minutes to get water , when it came I was given plastic cups, ordered drinks and they never came. Food came out way over a hour. Asked for soda and again was given plastic cups while every one else was served with glasses. I was so irritated that I ended my night early
The food was great but poor service is whey you get here and extremely high prices for drinks. Asked to speak with the manager and she disappeared and never addressed our concerns! I will never return
Very disappointed with that experience. I went to celebrate a birthday and indicated that during reservations. The host/manager sat us in a corner by the front door or a corner behind a wall where we couldn't see the band when there were better seats available. Then informed us that the seats we wanted were "booked" (I had a reservation also, so what does that mean?) However, no one was ever seated at that table during the 3 hours we were there. After we ordered our meal, we informed the waitress that we were going to get closer to the band so we could get that experience and dance, but when we returned our drinks were removed and table was cleaned off. We ordered more drinks that took so long I had to step outside for a mental break, I came back in and decided to order the drink from the bar myself and had the drink in approx. 2mins. Then the waitress tried to include an 18% service charge to the bill on a party of 2 after all that, I don't think so, I did give her a 12% tip because she was nice and the overall experience wasn't all her fault. Usually I have a good time here, however, I learned the hard way that they only cater to the lounge side of this restaurant and the host/manager will flat out lie instead of being accommodating to the patrons who are already there.
They need more people to wait and bar tend. Immediately
Reserved for 7:15 and got there at 7:30. We got in just as the band was setting up and there were just a few patrons sitting at the tables. The dining room was partitioned with standard dining on the room from the entrance and the bar area on the left—this area is right in front of the stage so if you wanted to see the band play, that’s where you want to be. You couldn’t see the band from where I sat but you could hear them so it was a decent trade off.
The food was pretty damn good although the menu items were limited. The service was mixed: at first it was fine around 7:30 - 8:15 and our food was received fast BUT for anyone who arrived after 8:30 it got extremely delayed. We didn’t know while we were dining but the other side and the outside area were PACKED. Unfortunately this is why the service became slow because they only had 4 servers attending to the patrons. It took us about another 30 to 45 minutes to get our check and I had to chase down our server.
All in all, I would go back there and try the bar area or maybe the hookah outside but hopefully they’ll have hired a few more serving staff for a busy Saturday night.
The music was too loud! Hard to converse while you’re eating and drinking.
I loved the location and it was decorated. It is a beautiful place to chill and catch up with friends and family. My chicken and French toast were delicious. I will definitely be back again for dinner or for one of their events.
Service terrible I’m still waiting on a refund we didn’t even get to sit we made reservations just for the restaurant to say it was no table available
To use a book analogy, this place has a great cover but the book stinks! If you want to go for hookah, shots and loud music, then this is your place. Don’t go looking for a fine dining experience. The food is fair but overpriced; the service is terrible, to include your waitress probably drinking while working; finally having the restaurant try to overcharge you! If you make a paid reservation, where the place charges you $20 per person, make sure you check your bill to ensure they credit it to your bill. I will never go here again and would never recommend it to anyone.
This was the worst service i’ve ever experienced in my life. Drinks and food took over two and a half hours to come and we waited one hour before we were acknowledged by the waitress & were given menus. The waitress was completely unprofessional. It was really bad service and I will never return nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
Not welcoming at all! The service I received for my $600 bill was horrible. We made the best of the situation to celebrate a 40th birthday. But never will I ever spend MY money there!
Great atmosphere with great music. It appeared they were short staff because it took an hour to receive our food.
Wonderful experience and great food!!
Will never recommend anyone to go there on their birthday. The customer service was so BAD. My whole birthday was ruined… When we first got to the restaurant, My friend and I was just standing there forever, before one of them started talking to us.
She REFUSED to sit us at the Right side, where there was only one couple sitting or the Middle, where there was no one sitting . She wanted to sit us at the LEFT side.. where everyone is so close next to each other. No Social Distance Practice..Anyway, I end up leaving the restaurant with no food. Just a sad day for me..,
The brunch was perfect however it took us 35 minutes to get our sangria and an hour and a half for our 3 dishes! Unreal.
It was surprising that I had to "pay" $20.00 per person to confirm my reservation and that split checks were not allowed. That made payment awkward at the end since one of my guests did not come prepared with cash.
Our waitress while pleasant, would disappear for long periods of time. We actually had to make requests of other staff at least three times for her to come to our table and even then, it took her a while to get there. As I paid the check (again after waiting for quite some time), she never apologized or made any comments about her delays. That was very annoying and resulted in my giving less than 20% for her gratuity. That is something the restaurant needs to address with their staff.
Also, since they allow Hookahs on the patio, they should notify guests to ensure that they are not offended by the smell. Thankfully there was a nice breeze but we would have preferred to enjoy our meal without the smoke/smell.
I will go back if/when I am in the area, but for the prices and the ambience they try to create, they should work to provide a better experience for their guests.
Also, I noticed I did not get any points for my visit. Can that be addressed?
The service was amazing and the food was great, would go back for dinner and the entertainment they offer.
We arrived with a reservation but stood in line for about 10 minutes to be seated in an empty dining room. The hostess seemed very confused about what to do. The food was great but the service was slow. Our server was good but she seemed to beServing too many tables.
Terrible experience, slow service from beginning to end. Also they used to cater to a certain crowd, well dressed etc. That is no longer the case. Shorts, hats, cutoffs, sneakers at the dinner hour, not a good look. Service was HORRIBLE. And we were given plastic utensils.
Not sure why Sobe’s don’t allow folks in lounge area to watch band unless sitting at bar. Tables reserved from $100-$300 and most remain empty. Waste of space when folks could be spending money at high top tables enjoying entertainment
Greetings! The only problem I had with you guys was the seating. It took about 35 minutes to be seated when I attended there. I was trying my best to be patient but the young lady you guys had at the front did not know what to do to seat customers.
