Amazing experience! We ate at the kitchen counter and had a great time, eating lovely food with perfect wine pairing. The sommelier, the waiter and the chef were really available and we spent almost 4 hours over there. I highly recommend this place!
Outstanding food and outstanding service as always.
Great food, great drink, great service. I will be returning ASAP
Perfect mood, set up, food delicious and not too spenny. Well done everyone. Loved it.
Fantastic service and great food.
We arrived slightly early for a 17:30 reservation and they were clearly still settling up. After settling in for a meal we were offered to finish our deserts upstairs. This was initially quite nice but were suddenly in a bar and the service was very poor. A disappointing end to a meal
Fantastic food , lovely service definitely a must if not tried before ! Service with a smile(hidden) but great enthusiasm! Loved all of it !
Agree with some of the more negative reviews - food is quite average, cheesy 80s music, slightly dated decor (one of the exposed brick walls looks like a new build) - its not worth the money and it’s a very average experience. If it had been 30% cheaper I would be more positive but at their price point, there are far better places you can go.
Needed a nice restaurant to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. Couldn't have chosen better! We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and it was perfect in terms of ambiance, busy but not noisy. The service was attentive without being over the top. We had the festive menu which was good value. We will definitely return.
We had a lovely meal and I would like to give it a higher rating, but a few of the dishes were really over salted. The portions were generous for all courses including the sides.
This was my second visit. The food and service were first class.
Good value for money to fine dine but found the food a tad underwhelming. Although, it was the lunch menu so maybe the a la Carter menu is stronger.
Great service but the ambience wasn’t quite for me though.
Delicious food. Very helpful waiter. I didn’t get his name but he was excellent.
Excellent food, wine list and service. Thank you
First they deduct you 120£ on the eve on your card which should do for no show and hardly understand why they take money in advance. Once you get the final bill they do not remind you about the deposit and we ended up sharing in two the amount but in unfair way as I had already paid out 120£. The music was really loud with an 80 music but quite geared to the old classic such as pink floyd but was not only loud but a mismatch with the ambiance and the food. The food was honestly average and very salty. We did some remarks and the service said « we will convey to the chef » but seems unapologetic. The Italian sommelier was really good and professional and we took two very nice wines expensive but totally worth it. Appetisers ( the scallops were probably the best with the sirloin). The rest was very average to uneatable. Really disappointing as I really like their sister restaurant.
Wonderful, incredible food and drinks and service! Loved it
Good food and service. Was made to feel very welcome.
Social Eating House was a really great dinner out. The food was delicious, and the ambience and decor were really cool. Will definitely go back!
starters were really good. got the beef tartare and scallop ceviche. although they forgot our order and had to remind the waiter. service was really slow, probably because it was a busy night. would’ve liked a little more attention from waiter. asked for suggestions but her response was brief and didn’t feel thoughtful. again maybe because it was a busy night. mains were alright but nothing memorable.
Delicious food, good value set menu and helpful staff.
very impressive food with not very matchable quaulity of table and atmosphere to me. Overall is good value though😎
Fantstic bday! Really enjoyed the 3 couse menu. Lucia
Thanks for a wonderful meal and fantastic service. Was sublime
My wife and I had the tasting menu and a bottle of house white. One of the best meals we’ve ever had.
Lovely food and service, was moved to the bar after and spent most of the evening there.
Nothing was too much trouble.
A great lunch!
Really good birthday dinner at the Social Eating House
We had the October Eat Out to Help Out menu - three excellent courses for £25 per head, accompanied by carafe of elegant house wine. The service was relaxed but spot on, and the atmosphere was gently buzzy for a Tuesday lunchtime.
Excellent food and drink choices.
Ambience was spoilt by the noisy table of 6 next to us....not sure if this allowed in a Tier 2 region?
Nothing to fault. We had a fantastic birthday celebration. Food was amazing, staff attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Only sorry we didn’t have room for dessert.
Loved this place. Wed been previously to Little Social a few times and this has a very similar feeling. Relaxed, attentive service, good cocktails, wine list with plenty of options at reasonable by the glass prices.
We had the set lunch menu, very good value at 25 quid for 3 courses currently would have been so at 35.
High recommend the deer!
Food was good in fact great but was just a bit noisy and gloomy inside - much of the time couldn’t see what we were eating. Don’t mind atmospheric lighting but could be better done. One of two brilliant dishes, 1 or 2 ‘ok’. Didn’t like the house Chenin wine at all - but partner did - so maybe just a choice thing. Service was brilliant.
What a great spot for lunch! The set lunch menu had plenty of options and the wine list spot on. All the food we had was very good and the service on top just made it a very special experience.
Perfect evening with amazing food, we wasn’t rushed at all. The only draw back was the 22:00 close time but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. We will be coming back many more times. Also very fair price and good service.
We had a brilliant time. Great food, service and ambience.
Really enjoyed the cote de bouef and the cocoa brûlée for dessert but wasn’t massively keen on the smoked eel starter. Great service though!
Excellent service and food, doing everything per covid regulations. Wonderful evening with my husband.
Really disappointing. I know things are difficult post COVID but the service was beyond poor - disinterested, rude at times, food arrival/spacing dreadfully managed. The food itself was average with a couple of better dishes. On the upside, the ambience and feel of the restaurant is good. Would not return, would not recommend. Amazed they hold a Michelin star.
What a fabulous meal!
The staff were lovely and the food sublime.
Well done Jason Atherton it was great to go to a place where social distancing was in place but still a buzz about the place. That was probably due to the great deals you are offering for wonderful food at reasonable prices. What a treat!
The food has definitely moved on in the last few years. It was always very good but now it's seriously special, I can see why they've got a Michelin star. The beef tartare is the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot), ditto my wife's trout tartare. Her brill was cooked to absolute perfection. My roast Roscoff onions with ceps had a depth of flavour that was off the scale.
At the same time the ambience is still the relaxed yet buzzy vibe that made this one of my favourite restaurants in London.
I do have one small(ish) gripe with the service. Having the starters appear five minutes after cocktails was definitely a misstep, especially as the starters were both cold so they could have waited a bit. That was sloppy. Mind you, I now know that rye goes quite well with beef tartare.
