We came for a family lunch to get a break from being home all the time, it was a lovely lunch, very friendly staff and we had plenty of space it the back. Kids menu are handy.
Love the food and the style
Very nice service staff
Very good choice of wine and guidance
I love Terroirs, and still lament the closing of The Green Man and French Horn, but hadn't been to Soif. On Saturday we decided to change that, and after a lovely walk in Battersea Park admiring the illuminated Albert Bridge, we settled in for a cosy meal with a selection of wines by the glass. It was the perfect tonic on a chilly evening and a great place to break out of the lockdown gloom. Unfortunately Soif is not closer to home or I would be a regular.
Absolutely outstanding. Food excellent, wine excellent, service and covid measures excellent. Our waiter 'Peter' made our night. He was funny, chatty and engaging despite having some tricky tables to handle and a busy level of service. We would definitely come back -
Wonderful service, gorgeous wines, beautiful food - will definitely visit again
We were so happy to Soif re-open and had a lovely meal just ahead of Lockdown 2.0. We look forward to trying their "at-home" service soon/
Fantastic quality wine bar and restaurant.
For us, it was all about the small plates. The purple sprouting broccoli with carrot butter was incredible. Roasted celeriac with pickled girolles equally so.
We (2 of us) shared the short rib - tender as you like. Pommes purée was buttery. Dish probably needed something else as a contrasting texture. Not gonna say chips but...chips?
Desserts of salted caramel tart and puff pastry, pear and cream - would have licked the plate. True of most of the food.
We enjoyed the wine. A lot. The white La Megendia dessert wine was liquid honey.
Maybe a bit understaffed (covid?).
We'll be back up during lockdown 2.0 for the take out food and wine.
Best restaurant I’ve been in the last month. Great food and good wines. Service can improve.
We had a nice Sunday. Very good wines selection and perfect location venue.
Fantastic food and great service
I always go here for the wine, they’ve got an amazing wine list with a focus on natural wines. You can also shop your favourite ones there as well to take home!
Wonderful as always! The food was exceptionally delicious.
This restaurant must be under new control because it had none of its previous vibe and the service was dismal when before lockdown so attentive. It had just reopened and will try again as local but if it doesn’t get its old buzz back will soon be dead.
It was a good meal albeit that the place was pretty empty. The staff were very friendly although at times hard to get hold of given that it wasn’t busy.
We chose a selection of the small plates and one main to share and that worked v well.
The little gem salad was fabulous as was the mushrooms on toast
The food was very good - I’d have ordered more, if I could have! The waiter’s recommendation of wine was excellent and the prices, all in all were reasonable. I want to go back just to try other things on the menu!
Very few beer options as they’d ran out but apart from that very good
Great value.
Excellent food.
Interesting wine list.
Charming, attentive and engaged staff who really care.
After all these years it'd as good as ever!
Interesting menu with small and large plates. Excellent food
Presentation of my dish was kind of rubbish but the flavours were really good. Staff were friendly. Table was a little narrow for my liking. But overall, good food. Would come back again.
Amazing Sunday roast! Up there with the best I’ve had!
Great wine list but too much is too expensive. Communication issues with waiter meant wrong food came out but issue was addressed well. Lovely eating area and plenty of space in which to dine comfortably.
Couldn't combine a cheese and charcuterie plate. Madness - as the charge £16 for each plate and we wanted a selection of both. The whole menu was too expensive for what we got...
Had a lovely evening at Soif. Waiter recommended a wine that wasn't on the menu - had been used for wine tasting earlier that day. A delightful wine - exactly what we wanted!
Food was fab. Recommended the perfect amount of plates.

Really great, the staff were very accommodating as we had to change our reservation a few times as our plans beforehand kept changing. Lovely food and atmosphere. Very enjoyable.
Lovely local restaurant!
Amazing service the guy was so nice attentive and gave us great advice to choose from the menu!
Always outstanding and a great time. Thank you so much for a great evening.
Delicious food, friendly knowledgeable staff, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
Wine was nice but expensive and came in small measures for the money paid. The clam dish we shared was really grainy, to the point where it wasn't pleasant to eat. Other dishes were ok, just not particularly great.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Central London. We live locally and have visited Soif a couple of times before and enjoyed it. This time round we had to wait an hour for our mains and my husband had to get up and go to the bar to order our drinks. I suspect the staff - who were pleasant enough - were overstretched as there was a large group in who were very loud and dominated the small restaurant. The food - when it finally arrived after we’d reminded the waitress twice - was inedible. The total cost for two starters, two mains, a bottle of wine, coffees and an aperitif was £160 - more than I paid for a very similar meal in The Wolsley the previous week, which was of a far higher standard. I won’t be going back to Soif.
It was very enjoyable on all aspects. Tasty, nicely cooked food with warm service and a great atmosphere. Really conducive to great conversation. We’ll be back!
Relaxed bistro in SW London with a great menu. Interesting wine list and delicious menu. Just wish we could go more often! Friendly staff, reasonably price and the menu changes quite frequently. Small events like wine tasting which is a nice idea too.
Fantastic charcuterie board as usual with short but fine selection ofvseasonal mains & desserts. All lovely as were the low- intervention wines.
We had a table for 4 people. We had a really enjoyable evening, very attentive staff, great food and nice ambiance. We will be back.
Everything was lovely, except the food. Steak tartare tasted so strongly of horseradish or wasabi that we couldn't eat it - our server, a very friendly and helpful waitress noticed and offered to swap it for another snack which was really appreciated. She also offered some suggestions for wine which were helpful and our chosen bottle both delicious and affordable. The charcuterie was good but the main course cod and steak were both undercooked; the steak was described to "have a little pink" but came almost blue and the fish was on the cusp of acceptable. Both main courses were under seasoned as were the croquetas but maybe that is just our preference. The restaurant became busy towards the evening and you could tell the team were short, but the team hid it well and gave a good service.
love Soif and go often,
took my sister and her husband there for dinner on saturday, their first time,
I was slightly disappointed with the food overall, not as good as usual, which was disappointing
One of our local independent favourites. Consistently good food and small plates. Very comprehensive wine list. Good atmosphere.
We called in for a casual early supper. My pasta was cold and tasteless. They redid it and although warmer was still very poor taste wise. My partner had the black pudding and the chicken dish of the day, both of which were ok, but not special. The service was quite good. Lots Jed the buzz of the place, but will not return.
One of the best roasts I’ve had in London. Great charcuterie options and wine.
The food was amazing-every course-and very good value.
We had 3 courses and a bottle of wine for £50 a head.
We shared 3 starters-the burrata, the croquettes and the pear with Jerusalem
artichoke puree. Then 2 of us had the cod with barley-outstanding-and the other the pork.
The creme brûlée and chocolate mousse deserts were to die for.
Service throughout was attentive and we didn't have to wait ages for our food.
