The Olive Tree is always a culinary delight. It is expensive which makes it a special occasion restaurant for us. They offer 3 tasting menus one of which is vegetarian. However, you can choose individual dishes from any of the menus in the style of a la carte. We love it. There has been a recent change in front of house staff and while superb service the atmosphere was not quite as relaxed and jolly as it was but I’m sure that will improve with time. 5 of us went to celebrate my husbands retirement. Once again all the food was well presented, hot and very tasty the meat on the trio roast and pork roast was melt in the mouth .The afters were beautiful too, especially the blood orange sorbet that was served with the key lime pie. The service was friendly and very efficient. We will be back. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Went for afternoon tea for a special occasion. I was asked on making the booking if it was a special occasion and I also mentioned it specifically in a note I left with the booking however no one mentioned the special occasion or wished my guest happy birthday which was disappointing. I’m not sure why they asked the question initially if they weren’t going to act on it. The room was lovely and the food was excellent, we were even offered more sandwiches which we have never had with previous afternoon teas. I had asked for a table with extra room as we were bringing a pram with us and this was accommodated for us. The staff were very friendly and polite with a laid back vibe. MoreOpenTable Diner -

The staff were very attentative and provided good service. Appitizer and desert were excellent. The wine and beer selection and prices were entirely satisfactory. The main courses were poor. The meat used in the hash was very low quality. The schnitzel was served with capers in a sauce that would make an Austrian blush. Meat inside was OK. Overall, thanks to the quality of the serving staff we will return, but stick to fish and chips. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Lovely setting, we sat outside and looked out over the garden whilst we ate afternoon tea. Afternoon tea was good, but nothing was explained so we didn’t know what the cakes were. The almond slice was very oily, tasted deep fried. Sandwiches were nice, again not explained. Good range of teas, and coffee was available too. Scones were lovely, and served warm. Another fabulous work dinner here. The food never fails to impress, fancy and healthy and portions tailored to multiple courses. We all went for the prix fixe early bird meal, and enjoyed the complexity that retained clarity of individual flavours and healthy ingredients. The waiter was able to offer good recommendations on wine, and service was attentive but unobtrusive. MoreOpenTable Diner -
We had a Sunday lunch for four people booked it in advance and the venue was spectacular. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were able to eat inside or outside and could see the beautiful scenery from either situation. The one and only downside was if you are expecting a full meaty Sunday roast this is not the menu for you. For us I have to say did not effect our enjoyment one bit and the food was healthy and tasted great. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Food tastes great, was slightly underwhelmed by the kids portion sizes, just a handful of pasta tubes in a tomato sauce for £5 was a big extravagant! Burger was lovely, well seasoned meat with black pepper which I enjoyed but may not be to some people tastes. Husband very much enjoyed the pork roast. Staff lovely but not very attentive, no one checked how we were getting on or if we required anything. MoreOpenTable Diner -

We enjoyed a celebratory afternoon tea for my Mum's birthday. The food was a little late coming out but the staff were very apologetic. Once it arrived there was a delicious selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones & plenty of it! The atmosphere and surroundings were calming and elegant, the staff were all very friendly. We will be returning! MoreOpenTable Diner -

We went there to celebrate our anniversary. Since we arrived the staff couldn’t be any friendlier!! They accomodate us by the window in a very spacious table. My partner has a dairy allergy and the waitress was so kind to help us to go through the menu and find something suitable for him. Food was delicious, Especially the home smocked salmon and the pork belly with clams. The best touch was the dessert plate with home made macaronis and “happy anniversary” write on it. Thank you so much everyone!! Really good experience, really enjoyable food and really friendly staff. Definitely will be back. MoreOpenTable Diner -
