Went to Spice Lodge for a Sunday lunch time, which meant the restaurant was a little quiet. However the service was still very good. What stood out was the unique dishes on the menu, therefore making a choice became a dilemma, and based on our choices means we will be going back to try some other of the other dishes to see if they are as good. There were several of the regular choices of course, but the individual style of the signature dishes were an enticement to try something new. Glad we did!!!

Very poor value for money
Won’t be going again
Food tasted ok but a real lack of it
Tandoori didn’t have one bit of salad or lemon, made meal dry
No salad with starter either
Expensive food, expensive drink
Wouldn’t recommend anyone going here, far better around

Nice poppadoms and dips to start, but then had an hours wait for the main course by that point although the meal was very good,we had gone beyond the point of appreciating it and we were not kept informed that it would be such a long wait. A shame because it has put us off returning.

as usual service good, food almost very good except for very poor main dish of beef which was tough as old boots. The restaurant did not charge for this dish and gave us complimentary dessert. The rest of the meal was up to its usual high standard.

On my 3rd visit to Spice Lodge I was once again very pleased with the service and great food. Our server “Abbe” was very helpful with our first time guests and very knowledgeable of the menu. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

We booked a table for a Sunday evening, but when we arrived it seemed there was no record of it so we were ushered into the very warm bar but not offered any drinks. After around twenty minutes we were taken to out table and given menus, following this the wait staff seemed to disappear for about half an hour. We finally asked for our order to be taken but were told only drink first, once these arrived our food order was taken. It took around an hour for the food to arrive, and considering it was a quiet Sunday evening this was quite surprising. The food was not of the quality usually served here, sauces were greasy and meat tough. All in all a poor experience so I'll make the journey out of town to Koloshi in future food good quality Indian food.

It was lovely here tonight really enjoyed it. Last time we went it was so busy that the service wasn’t too great and mistakes were made with the orders.

Excellent Service, food of highest quality. The possibility to choose Thai or Indian cuisine. There is an ongoing tendency in some resraurant s to hack up wine prices .The Spice Lodge is not one of these, their wine prices are very reasonable.

A good but mixed visit. The service was sadly very slow, with a long wait before our starters and another long wait before the mains arrived. On the plus side, the mains and sides were very nicely spiced with a great depth of flavour. Most of the starters were also good. However, my Chicken Tikka starter was small, very bland, with an almost non-existent amount of salad on the side. Finally, we were given the incorrect bill at the end, though they made up for that by giving us about a dozen chocolates instead of the expected four.

The restaurant is attractively decorated, the space consists of several spacious rooms in a large period property. The staff were attentive and informative. The food was tasty, nicely presented and interesting. Not your average Indian restaurant.

We booked Spice Lodge to celebrate my husband's birthday . They catered for 3 vegetarians and a coeliac with aplomb. The food here is amazing, authentic spicing and each dish had individual qualities. The building itself is very beautiful and a great setting for a special occasion. All the staff are very friendly and the service is attentive yet unobtrusive. Another little bonus is that they have a car park. We will certainly return.

We visited on a Friday evening for dinner. The food was of good quality with a varied menu. The staff were on hand to recommend different dishes, which was useful as the menu had lots of different options to the usual indian type dishes. They also do a small Thai menu, however we didn't try any of the dishes. The waiters were very attentive, making it an overall enjoyable evening.

The spice lodge is normally really good but the owner was away this particular evening.
We ad to wait a long time to get our meal and when it came it was the wrong one, even when changed it didn't taste as good as normal.

The waiter was trying too hard to get us to give him a good review when he should be trying harder to be getting things right.

The coffee was cold when it came, even after complying we still had to pay for it.

Very disappointing ,expensive too. Balti Wallace next time! Sorry spice lodge

I looked up Vegan resturants in Cheltenham , this one came up as not a lot of choice. Very disappointed at lack of options even though they did try there best and rustled something up,it was bland and uninspiring. Staff very friendly. Resturant looks nice but on closer inspection, tired and dated. Over priced too.
