The restaurant was superb, couldn’t fault it in any way at all.
Very friendly staff, extremely helpful with questions about menu and gluten free options.
Service was excellent and we will definitely be re visiting the venue.
I would highly recommend the restaurant.
It certainly deserves 5 stars.
The food was gorgeous and the service was brilliant. The staff were courteous and helpful and the restaurant was very well presented. will definitely visit again.
Good food, good service value for money. The restaurant was very quiet when we went, so hard to judge what the atmosphere is like. All round enjoyable food and visit
Good quality food. Friendly efficient service. Excellent Covid prevention
Visited with as a family of four for an evening meal at 6.30pm on a Tuesday. The restaurant is on the first floor and there's no lift so any wheelchair users should be aware.
We were seated quite quickly and the first waiter brought our drinks order promptly. From there the service starts to go downhill as another waiter took our food order and unlike all the tables around us failed to bring our complimentary popadums and the starters took over 30 mins to arrive.
By now the restaurant was really busy with a queue of on average over a dozen people waiting for ages at the entrance to be seated so lets say we felt ignored and it became a struggle to get our mains or the attention of any waiters who were all over stretched at this stage.
After our mains eventually arrived it then took over 40 mins to get our desserts after asking 2 separate waiters. The chocolate cake dessert I ordered had been microwaved for too long and was very hard after it had cooled down sadly.
Overall the food was mostly tasty and well presented but our experience was let down the disorganised service. Would recommend the food but the staffing levels and training need to be addressed.
Service poor
Limited menu compared
To similar Indian restaurant
Great food, service was good go side ring they were very busy, will definitely visit again soon
Very good food, good seating, very good service - what's not to like
Enjoyed our visit to Spice Quarter, lovely freshly prepared food and friendly service. Restaurant is beautiful
Food was ok. Service was appalling. Tried to charge us for food and drink that never came.
Avoid!
Excellent food, service and cocktails a perfect night.
Really enjoyed meal but wouldn’t go back as I don’t agree with a service charge of 10%. It should be up to the customer how much they want to tip for service..

Food was average -
Service was terrible waited for 15 mins to be asked if needed a drink , then further 20mins to take order - food was good though when it did arrive - very disappointed with rude staff - wasnt even packed restaurant wouldn't recommend this place
The service was the worst I have experienced for many years. From being taken to the table it took 25 minutes for a waiter to come to the table and ask for drinks and food. We only ordered a main course and this took a further 1hr to arrive. The food when eventually served was to a good standard but I find the service standard to be terrible and they had the audacity to charge 10% service charge on top of the bill.
Limited staff meant that we had to wait for our table despite having booked in advance and arrived on time. We were not offered drinks or menus. The restaurant decor is quite spartan with an awkward layout and tables quite close together. However, the table service was good and the food was of a high standard, with the lamb in particular being very tender.
Really lovely surprise - hadn't heard of / come across this place before, but food was really excellent - far exceeded expectations, really tasty and nicely presented too. Highly recommend.
Last visited Cardiff 2 years ago & tried the Spice Quarter & thought this was the best Indian restaurant ever! Was worried it wouldn't be as good 2 years later. However being that it was a Saturday night on a day following 2 rugby games in the City we were once again hugely impressed. We arrived for our table & the restaurant was heaving, we were given our table immediately & the service that followed was faultless! I was expecting a huge wait as they were so busy, but the waiter took our drinks order immediately & the drinks arrived quickly. The service was attentive all evening without being obtrusive. The food was impeccable & the ambience really good, again considering they were at full capacity, the noise level wasn't overpowering our conversation. Highly recommend, just hope I don't have to wait another 2 years to go back.
Service was a little slow. We waited over an hour for our food. Was tastey though. We had to wait for more drinks, not once did someone come over and ask us even though our glasses had been emptied for ages .. overall good though just a bit slow on the service side
A nice meal but nothing out of the ordinary.
Nice meal very quiet
I have only given average scores. Food was ok. There are places better. Service was also ok though didn’t get the impression they cared whether we were there or not. I alerted them through the booking that I was vegan. It was mentioned when I arrived and the waiter went through the vegan starter options which was good and then told me about three mains but each of these had meat or fish in them! We had to repeat our request for additional water. Rather impersonal service.
We went on a very busy Friday night. Service not great. Waited 90 minutes for our meal. However, it was definitely worth waiting for. We were a party of 4 and all our meals were outstanding.
TOOK SOME CLIENTS HERE FOR A MEAL AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE, LOCATION, FOOD, SERVICE
GREAT CURRY HOUSE
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Couldn't fault the food, it was all delicious however unfortunately it all felt a bit rushed, regarding the service everything seemed to come at once and the staff were in a rush to clear the table
Good find on a very busy Saturday night in Cardiff.
Food was delicious and different from your standard Indian Chicken Tikka Masala etc. We weren’t rushed and had a really nice corner table. Good size portions with just enough. Would happily come back
Restaurant nearly empty, Food and Service disappointing
Just on the side of stylish and vibrant, rather than tacky and loud. Creative menu and decent atmosphere.
Excellent meal, with good service and some unusual dishes. Prices are average but good value for money. We will definitely eat here again when we are in Cardiff.
Good food, good variety and server willing to modify for particular tastes. tasty and well cooked good service
The food overall was fab ,after we foud a black hair stuck in one of the popadoms ,they did say sorry and gave us 1 to replace it,but no refund or discount ,had to remind the waiter for our wine and wait an hour for our main meal ,didn't feel the servive was worth the 10% service fee we had to pay on top of our bill which was £16 ,I always leave a tip but I think it should be our choice how much depending on the service we have .
Enjoyed our meal emensly great service staff were wonderful
Food was excellent and very good value for money, staff friendly and attentive. Only downside tables are close together and conversation can be difficult at times. Will go back
Everything was rubbish from the food to the service and to add insult to injury they automatically charge you a gratuity which is an astounding 10% what a rip off. The only reason I did not complain was that it was my husbands birthday treat while we were visiting Cardiff.
Excellent food, best onion baggies I have ever tasted, all in all a very nice meal, will go back
Great food, great atmosphere and service was very good. Beers were a tad expensive and the optional service charge was a bit much but it was only optional and we ended up giving what we considered an adequate percentage.
We visited The Spice Quarter for the first time for my son's 18th Birthday! Great place, lovely atmosphere, friendly waiter's and stunning food! The best chicken tikka bhuna ever!! Will definitely be recommending this place to others! 👌😋
Service was very slow, very little attention paid to us. Drinks brought half an hour after each order. Food order taken a hour after arrival. I had to request poppadoms and dips to keep us going . Food was good once it arrived two hours later, however one order was incorrect and a drink was spilt over table by the waiter. No real apology from Manager/supervisor. It seems they could not cope with the Saturday night influx, although they should be aware of what they had booked in.
I arranged the work's do and I felt let down. We will not be returning.
Excellent food, much better than you average Indian Restaurant look forward to going again.
