Great service...amazing food! Ambience was perfect.
Food was delicious as usual. The wait staff is very attentive. We dined inside as the dining room is quite spacious with high ceilings and there were few others there at the time.
Really fantastic food! We tried a variety of items (ordered way too much) and everything was delicious. We had the Malai Kofta, Tofu Jalfrezi, Vegetable Korma, Yellow Dal Tadka, and of course some Naan. Had lots of leftovers, which were great the next day. Some interesting cocktails on the menu as well. Server was very friendly. Was pretty quiet, wish the place well with everything going on.
We ate out doors and as a result, it was noisier than it would have been inside. Trucks, backup beepers, fire engines, etc. Not the restaurant's fault but be prepared if you choose to eat outdoors. The chicken korma was delicious and the lunch portions were way more than adequate as well as a real bargain.
The food is delicious. The location is super convenient.
Could not have asked for better food. Wish we'd had a slightly nicer table outside. When I arrived, although the reservation had specified outdoor seating, they had not set up a table (it had been raining earlier in the day). The host immediately set up a table at the edge of the sidewalk next to a bank sign, not under one of the lovely trees, and the iron chairs were a bit uncomfortable. Also, we didn't get a drink menu; luckily I knew what I wanted, as did my dinner companion. Other than that, the service was attentive (they even let my friend bring her dog) and the food truly was remarkable.
Came for a birthday celebration and all our requests were accommodated. Excellent service, nice ambiance. Food was good, all guests enjoyed it.
Great service and delicious food as usual. We have been to Spice Xing many times over the years and it is very consistent. Happy to see so many familiar faces among the wait-staff. Eating in or carry out you can't go wrong. So many delicious items to choose from. Our favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, and the Baingan Bharta.
Exceptional service and the food was very authentic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We were there during the Super Bowl, and the place was nearly empty. Food was tasty, well spiced and well presented with ample portions. Service was attentive. Indian cuisine is a favorite, and we will definitely go again.
we've been before and enjoyed but this time not so much
will likely not return. v sad
We always have a good experience here. Wonderful food and a lovely place to eat!
Very nice buffet
Remains one of our great places to eat!
Great food and attentive service. Definitely a new favorite.
Food is good but we still find the sister restaurant Passage to India better in regards to choices and tastiness of the food. Service was so nice...wait staff v=brought us a dessert for our anniversary
Food was great. Menu needs more items.
Yes but with a caveat. We've been to Spice Xing many times over many years — the first was just after they opened — and have always enjoyed it. However, the lunch menu has been changed to an abbreviated menu and all of the dishes that we enjoyed are now only available at dinner. The selection now available for lunch does not give us many options and I doubt we'll be going there again.
Very good meal. Served quickly. The wait staff was friendly as usual.
Team dinner with several folks from India. They enjoyed the food.
Always great food! Brought a guest this time and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well.
Not as good as its parent restaurant, Passage to India. Not the place to go for Indian food in Rockville!! Curry dish was bland and Tandoori chicken dish was ok...nothing special
The food was delicious as usual. We had prompt attention from our server and our meal was out of the kitchen really quickly. This was what we have come to expect here even when we are not the last ones in the restaurant like this time.
I haven't been to Spice Xing in years, and after this experience I probably won't be coming back any time soon. We had a late family dinner at a time when there were very few diners in the restaurant. Yet despite there being more staff than customers, service was painfully slow and we had to ask for items repeatedly. The food itself was fairly good. Among our appetizers both the baby dosa and chili cheese toast were quite good. The lamb chop was also a hit. The main courses were a mixed bag with the salmon tandoor coming out somewhat dry and the butter chicken getting a thumbs down from our daughter. The dinner took so long with the slow service that we didn't have time to stay for dessert.
Consistently excellent food and service.
Food was quite good and service very attentive. Chicken Marsala was nicely spiced, accompanying salad had a tasty subtle dressing. The prawn dish seemed to have shrimp that didn't quite reach the size one expects of prawns but had lots of flavor. Garlic naan was near perfect; one could actually taste the garlic, unlike some Indian restaurants that just wave the garlic over the naan leaving one to imagine the garlic flavor.
Mediocre service. ordered drinks. Finished them, waiter never came and offered another round. Were waiting for 30 minutes and had to waive our hands to get her attention.
Same goes for food -someone dumped our dishes in front of us ; waitress never bothered to come and check whether all is good.
Took my mother in law here for Mother’s Day. It was a hike, given we live in Arlington, and we had our fingers crossed. Came away really impressed. We ordered a number of dishes and most were as close to authentic recipes; the only exception being the Konkan shrimp curry. The goat curry (not on the menu), the daal, baked fish will bring us back here for more. Most Indian restaurants have a couple of mother curries that they just dress up and serve as different dishes; we’ve learnt to accept that there is Indian food and then there is restaurant-style Indian food. Glad to run into Spice XING with much higher standards!
I loved the relaxed feel of this place and the decor is beautiful. The part I didn’t like is the food is very bland to my taste.
Celebrating. 2 Birthdays and it couldn’t have been a nicer experience. Good food, good service, great restaurant. One of our favorites.
Food was very disappointing!!butter chicken was too bad not at all tasted the way it was before.
We were very pleased with the service, menu selection and our menu choices.
Delicious as usual. The staff is quite attentive and friendly. One of our go to places for sure.
Need to confess at the outset that I don't love Indian food but was with a group and wasn't going to be a wet blanket. Was an unusually quiet Saturday night at SX and maybe that contributed to the underwhelming experience. Food around the table was good - it always is - though my seafood something or other in a creamy/white sauce was underwhelming and bland - but the service was indifferent. No one checked in on us after entrees were delivered, drink refills (other than water pouring) weren't offered, and the staff almost to a person didn't look happy to be there. If you want Indian food before your movie in Rockville, this is the stop but the overall experience would not make it a destination for me.
Good food and usually good service. At last visit, although not crowded there was a bit of a wait for drinks and first contact with server.
Nice that GF options are clearly marked
I loved the decor. Service was sparse. Our server would disappear for long spells.
Major complaint......very few white meat chicken options. All the dishes that interested me did not come with white meat. And couldn’t substitute. I had to order 2 appetizers that were what I wanted.
Lime cocktail was perfect!
Parking is difficult around the area.
My wife and I enjoyed the valentines day special (food), service, and environment.
We will be back!
The lunch was really tasty, the ambiance was nice, quiet and smart !
The food was absolutely amazing!!! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.
