Really tasty food, great menu and fantastic service!! Definitely one to go to again.... and again.... and again.
We had a really good lunch here. My lamb was delicious and my niece's steak sandwich was just as she wanted. Portions were ideal for lunch and the wine was served chilled and in an ice bucket (something you don't get in a lot of eating places). Our waiter (Andy) was very pleasant and helpful. Location was good although the weather wasn't. Only negative was the music and that's only because I'm not a fan of piped music when I'm eating.
Lovely little restaurant with great brunch options until 3pm and tapas in the evening. Very good service.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, waterfront views - this is one of my favourite places in Bristol! Would definitely recommend.
Visited as a group of 6, serving staff very friendly, food was amazing - we had the set menu which gave a great selection of dishes, highly recommended.
Great good and amazing service from our waiter. Will definitely be going back again :)
Excellent tapas and pinxtos which were a little different from the usual offerings. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was a restaurant that doesn't have enough wine glasses. Never come across that before, you need to sort that asap as it spoiled the first 30 minutes. It wasn't as if the restaurant was completely full!!
We are regulars to the restaurant for breakfasts and lunches . Food was not as outstanding for dinner .
Great lunch, cool venue and excellent service! Would recommend.
lovely café style restaurant difficult to find but worth the effort nice food served with a smile if not very efficient when hugely busy as was the case, long wait, but still worth recommending, by the water, great ambience
As on our previous visit, the food was very good. Both the skewers and the food cooked to order were delicious, especially the lamb. The only slight downside was the slightly disappointing desserts. We had the creme brulee which was quite large and not very inspiring and the gourmand which was tasty but again not very inspiring. The service as on last occasion was very good. All staff were polite, helpful, not fussy and very engaging. Overall a lovely evening thanks.
We went for brunch and then (encouraged by what we found) booked for an evening meal for 5. We ended up opting for the £25 per head + wine for S&S's own selection of tapas. We were not disappointed. A particular early favourite was the take on a scotch egg but with a rich runny yolk and mushroom duxelle and a crispy breadcumb coating. The charred octopus with perronata was a tentacular specular. I fully recommend this as for a special evening of family dining.
Really enjoyed our meal at Spoke and Stringer. Great fun ordering all the different home made tapas. All the dishes were brightly seasoned and full of flavour. I particularly recommend the hake and the lamb. The staff were really helpful too. A fun night out.
Casual, relaxed ambiance. We went for the evening menu which offered a mixture of tapas.
Really great, considerate service and a lovely selection of pintxos which we ended up filling ourselves up on and didn't make it to the tapas options. The taster plate of desserts was also excellent.
Went along on busy Sunday lunchtime. Both the food and service were good and we'll certainly go again at some point.
Great team, food, feel. Couldn't recommend enough!
Tasty food great service with a fun atmosphere . Will go again .
Amazing ambience and service. The food was incredible and their set menu was well worth the money. Great food - will come back every week.
Very easy to book. If sunny, try and sit outside as the live music can be a bit overwhelming. The tapas is excellent, in particular the lamb and the scallops were must tries. Service was a bit slow, but understandable as we went on a Friday at 7pm and it was packed.
Excellent food but poor service.
Had to ask 5 times for a jug of water, some staff have very poor memories. This is not the first time we have visited and had "forgetful" service.
Friendly service though food and drinks took a long time to arrive.
I wasn't keen on the flavouring in the breakfast, very strange mushrooms!
This was our third visit for dinner and it just keeps getting better! Delicious food and wine, great service (even though they were extremely busy) and lovely atmosphere. One of our favourite places in Bristol for brunch or dinner - we can't wait to come back!
Absolutely delicious brunch- the scrambled eggs were divine as was the rest of the food. Great drinks, setting and service, really looking to visiting again soon.
We had some really good tapas and the service was brilliant. A lovely place to come for dinner.
Stopped by on the way down to Cornwall to break up a long journey. Well worth the stop. Watermelon juice was so refreshing. Both meals were very tasty, service great, coffee brilliant. Might stop by on the way home :-)
Thanks for a great brunch
Who wouldn't want to eat here. It's bloody lovely.
The main difficulty is choosing what to order. And then eating it all.
That's pretty much all I can say about it.
Oh apart from the Bloody Mary. That's brilliant too.
Fabulous evening, great food, service and atmosphere.
We went for evening tapas... FANTASTIC! We had a lovely night and will certainly be back. Great experience all round, first an foremost delicious food. Highly recommended!
The food was amazing! Really impressed with the pintxos, the flavours and combinations were really good. Our waiter did a good job at checking what was in each dish, as we went for the set menu, but I felt he may still be new and needed to relax a bit.
I look forward to returning again to try more.
Great service. Fantastic food. Loved the in house deserts
First time here so we went for the tasting menu. They decided all of our courses and they didn't disappoint! Also amazing value for money.
Highly recommended this place!!!
The best brunch menu in Bristol
Possibly the best steak sandwich I have ever eaten. Cannot fault the attention to detail and friendliness of the staff.
My really pedantic points:
1. I prefer hot drinks in cups instead of glasses (this is applicable to the chai latte, not sure if it's the same for coffee or tea).
2. I don't like to be able to see the manager working on the computer, especially when I can see their screen and the various spreadsheets being used. It makes me conscious of the fact I'm eating in a business and that someone is profiting from my custom. I'd rather just be enjoying my food.
But those are just hyper critical points and I would definitely go back for more.
Great place, great location. Really great breakfast
I booked a table for 5, Saturday afternoon. I was worried that I might have to add or take away people from the booking so wrote it in your comments box. The Spoke and Stringer's Toby called on Saturday morning to check with me and left a message.
When we arrived, half an early our table was ready and we were allowed to catch up while waiting for friends. The staff were polite and friendly and were happy to share, when asked, their reccomendations, both of which we took and the food was beautiful! Tasty, fresh and plentiful. The cakes were too lovely and with coffee a great end to a lovely meal. I can't wait to go back...
The brunch great is great there but it is quite different (with harrissa and pesto) with the eggs for example. You won't leave hungry and make sure you swing by the clothes and accessory shop next to it!
We took our daughter and her boyfriend out for supper at a friend's recommendation. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic even though they were obviously very busy. The food was delicious and interesting without being too outlandish. The menu was just long enough to give a good choice but not so long as to make choosing difficult. It worked out around £25 per head for three courses and a beer which I thought was good value and we all enjoyed our visit, which was even more important.
We had been to Spoke and Stringer for brunch twice before (delicious on both occasions), so had high expectations for dinner, but even they were surpassed. All the tapas dishes we tried were generous, beautifully presented and exceptionally tasty, as was the desert, wine and coffee. Great, friendly service and a low lit, relaxing ambience added to a fantastic evening. We can't wait to go back!
