Sports Bar & Grill Victoria
We were told on arrival that open table bookings didn’t notify them of any bookings. Luckily there was lots of free tables as we had a group of 6. Service was extremely slow and food was average at best
Wouldn't recommend at the moment as its a building site - apparently its under refurbishment and closed on Sunday when we arrived for our booking,
I'm not sure if this is OpenTable's fault or the restaurants fault, but we made a reservation for NYE and when we arrived the place was closed. We should not have been able to make a reservation if the place wasn't open.
The restaurant was closed yet it accepted my 18:00 reservation.
Little gem, hidden away at Victoria Station. I've walked past it for years, ended up booking it at the last minute, for a leaving do and wasn't sure what to expect.
The staff were very accommodating, drinks and food were reasonably priced.
Good, clean atmosphere, with plenty of room and not at all overcrowded.
Pretty much...it’s a bar. Should not expect too much
Kitchen was closed !
Never been in the bar despite being a London commuter for many years. It does what it says on the tin - great place for sports lovers (particularly football) and drinkers enroute home from Victoria.
Despite being inside the station it is individual enough to stand alone and bar service is good and staff v friendly.
Only gripe was the bar ran out of Peroni!
The place was ugly, smelly, dirty. We decided not to stay.
Have been attending boxing showings gor some years. Staff always very polite, security good so never any trouble. Food andvdrink reasonable. Plenty of screens for the sport.
Easily booked. Large amount of screens. Table service. Good atmosphere.
Great spot to watch the Patriots game! Lots of seating and very attentive staff. Wings were amazing!
I went to the Sports Bar & Grill as it was my birthday and I chose it specifically for its food aspect and with the added bonus of screens for the football.
I ordered a burger and a Knronebourg and my wife had the cod and chips and a vodka and coke.
We arrived as the match was just ending but that wasn't a problem, after the football finished they put on rock music and I think it was a tad too loud as trying to have a conversation wit my wife was quite difficult.
The food was really good and the waiter/waitresses were always in attendance, my wife ordered 2 more cokes which came in tumblers rather than half or quarter sized glasses.
I booked using the "tastecard" and the bill was only £23 so I added £3 tip and paid and left.
After we left I checked how much we saved using the tastecard and it was £19.73 but I was a bit taken aback when I saw the prices of the cokes which were £3.15 each which was a bit steep for a tumbler of coke as a vodka and coke was £4.80 so for another £1.65 my wife could have had a shot of vodka in her cokes.
Overall apart from the rip off soft drinks and the slightly noisy atmosphere it was enjoyable hour or so.
The venue was chosen because of easy access to Victoria bus station (with time constraints), and taste card was accepted .The staff were pleasant and helpful and service relatively quick, although we were there early, had it been later it may have been different as the restaurant was getting busier with passing of time. The interior looks a bit dreary with a need of uplift ,the toilets were clean with liquid soap and hand cream supplied!
Fish and chips were very tasty and the food preparation is visible from the dining area.Personally I believe the desserts were limited lots of cheesecakes! however I opted for the biscuit ice cream (surprise) which was like 2 large chocolate biscuits stuck together with ice cream, could not manage to bite into it, once separated was yummy.
We booked a table here and on entering it felt as if we had walked into the North Pole. It was soooo cold and the air con was on full blast.
We walked around and the temperature was the same everywhere. Most customers still had their outdoor coats on.
We asked at the bar if there was any chance of the aircon being adjusted and were told no.
So we left.
Burgers were outstanding, really enjoyed it. Slightly understaffed though on what was a busy Friday evening and drinks and food took quite some time to arrive.
Everything was great!
We returned to dine a second evening
Great service overall
Fantastic place for a low key business meetings or catching up with friends. Great service from Gail who made us feel very welcome.
Didn't eat in the end but have before and it's wetherspoons standard - but pricier!
Staff can be clueless and service generally slow but overall not bad - only come as near to work, hopefully the new comp with the developments will give them a boost to improve from being just a station bar!
Good for an early breakfast. .. shame there are no plug points next to regular tables and chairs (only next to high tables and stools).
not very friendly
Wasn't able to have a meal there had a call on the day to say kitchen was closed which was disappointing as it was a special
Booked this restaurant for a pre theatre meal , we chose it for its location . There were four of us dining we ordered our mains three of them sat on the hot plate for about 5 minutes , we asked why they were sitting there and was told they were waiting for the fillet steak .
The waitress brought over the three meals 2 X ham egg and chips and one roasted chicken . By the time the fillet steak arrived we had finished our meals. We asked for the fillet steak medium rare which should only take two minutes each side so why it took 25 minutes we don't know.
Food was ok and the waitress was very apologetic but service was poor . The manager was sitting on a table eating and working on his laptop.
Four of us decided to go to this bar to watch a football match. For this reason, the bar was understandably busy. Although this must make it difficult for the staff, it is a sports bar - so busy periods are to be expected when football matches are being screened. Myself and my party were unfortunately made to feel like we were a nuisance. Our table was positioned so it was difficult for the servers to reach us - this seemed to make them less enthused about coming to serve our table.
I suggest that more staff are availble during busy periods, and that each table is accessible. I understand the need to make use of the space for economic reasons, however it is counterproductive if certain tables can't order drinks and food.
The beer and food are fine, if a little pricey - but its a very handy location so thats acceptable.
As expected of a sports bar cafe, and that too one bass in Victoria station, the environment and ambience was more bustle than calm. The plus points were that service was prompt, and the food surpringly good. We had the sliders - a mud of the ribs, fish and chicken (the staff were flexible in agreeing to a mix), chips were fresh and chunky, vege burger and fish and chips meals were all good and good value for money. We used it as a pit stop before dashing to see Wicked which was just 8 mins walk or less from sports bar. So all in all a great place for a pit stop.
The food is quite good and the service is better. Not a foodie destination, but a good option for a meal with whatever game you could wish to watch as they are all shown on many, many screens.
As we had a booking for Rugby, the staff turned on the sound for us. Otherwise all of the screens were showing football. The food was good.
Great atmosphere for sports fans, beer, burgers and sports tv and quick service. Great place to go after a match.
the bar gets a bit lively when the games are on so book s table in the restaurant area for a bit more civilised game.
Great wings and mini burgers. Go well with a few mates and beer.
booked it after the thertre and the Rugby was playing
This venue serves a purpose when having to have a quick bit to eat in a limited time. The service was good and with a smile which always helps..
Good choice of food available..
Basic bar food. Comfortable environment. Ok for families. Very convenient pre-train trip.
We booked for 13 of us including 4 children to have pre theatre meal at 5.00 on a Saturday Afternoon. We fought through the crowds to reach our table which was very close to the other tables, so squeezed in our seats. Shouted our drinks order to the very helpful waitress, as it was so noisy. My 11 year old daughter started crying as the noise wAs unbearable! We decided to drink up and leave hungry! (Which was disappointing as the food looked lovely).
We realised that We did book a sports bar, but as it was advertised as suitable for families and pre theatre dinners we thought it would be ok. The pictures on the website were very misleading!!!
Awesome location (For me) service is always first rate food is top notch comfort food ... I love the fish finhger stack and the award wining burgers .... Ohg and did I mention the plethora of TVs for all your sporting requirements ..... AWESOME !!
Booked to watch the Poland v Scotland game with a couple of friends. The food is kind of what you'd exepect in a Sports Bar but it was tasty, served promptly and not too expensive. Staff were attentive and helpful in terms of making sure we had access to relevant screens as there were other matches on.
food was ok. Ordered nachos which were a bit crushed and the cheese wasn't really melted on. Had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be served our drinks by the waitress despite her coming over and taking our order. At one point we had to call another waitress and re order as the other waitress seemed to forget about us.
Very extensive menu. Loved the fact the American hot dog menu also had a veggie option! Nice ambience. Very clean. Staff were welcoming and accommodating (when we were a little early for our booking). Quality food at a reasonable price. Handy location for theatres and travel. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back again myself.
Easily accessible from the train and tube, perfect to meet up with people travelling from different areas. Good service, good food and loads of screens to watch the sport. Atmosphere was good and not too cramped either
Always a great time coming here for the major sporting events. More screens than you could hope for and table service so no waiting at the bar and missing major moments. You do pay for that pleasure though. Food is exactly what you want and the menu is extensive.
Overall the value for money was good, it is the type of place to have something to eaitng with freinds; you probably wouldn't sit there for hours unless you were doing a lot of drink. The menu selection is fabulous, I would go their again.
