Poor food and service
Confit if duck so dry not edible
Light and exquisite fair. True joy of taste and dinning experience. Ambiance was magical and so was the service.
Great food and my scratch menu was altered without the meat, which suited me perfectly!
Stylish airy and serene setting for lunch. Set price menu gives good choice at reasonable price. Staff very attentive not intrusive. We all felt uplifted by relaxing lunch. Would like to come back and try dinner in evening.
Everything was so excellent! Even the wines that were recommended to us were fabulous. We enjoyed the interior desing and loved the lamps.
We enjoyed the Pre-Theatre Scratch menu! It was innovative and delicious. The kitchen was able to accommodate my request for lactose free dishes and the sommelier was knowledgeable and amusing!
We had the Sratch Menu. Wonderfully inventive. Exceptional value for money. Glorious surroundings
Quit mediocre food. Salat and duck leg were too salty. Not worth money we paid. Service is ok.
Our first time at Spring restaurant, and we'll likely return in the future.
My wife ordered the Lamb, I opted for Duck. We both found the outer skins to be quite tough - it was almost as though they'd been sat under a heat lamp. BUT - the meat itself was lovely on both dishes. My wife joked she needed a steak knife to cut the skin on hers, but I sense she was actually being serious.
The service was second to none, even having our menus swapped as the waitress felt ours weren't pretty enough! Everything was prompt and snappy and done with a smile.
The decor is lovely, very neutral and with a bit of design flair thrown in. I liked it a lot and would recommend it to others.
Beautiful setting and lovely service. A little quiet on a weekend but made for a lovely relaxing lunch. Could do with a larger variety of vegetarian options.
We visited Spring as a birthday treat for my mum and chose from the set lunch menu. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was a lovely space to enjoy a meal. Would definitely recommend
Definitely an overall experience and not simply a beautiful plate of food! Loved the attention to detail - glasses, Sicilian lemons, bill presentation, porcelain, etc etc. Gorgeous toilets, no horrid music, stunning room, and wonderful enthusiastic cheerful and knowledgable service.
Met friends here for lunch on a Friday, and had the set menu (£28.50 pp). Generally speaking I thought the whole enterprise was first rate. Service was efficient, relaxed and unobtrusive. The food was very good indeed. The set lunch menu is very good value (as is the Scratch menu which I've had here a couple of times before). Nice tomato and anchovy salad to start, very nice mayonnaise to go with it, and then Onglet with braised fennel. The latter was unusual but really nice and which I am working on replicating in my kitchen at home. The food is very reasonably priced, but but if you are working from the a la carte menu then lunch is going to be an expensive treat. The wine list isn't long but it is well chosen and there's a very good Saumur on the list if you like that appellation.
The room itself is large but not cavernous, and it's a very attractive place to eat. A really important feature of this restaurant, and one of which I particularly approve, is that it is relatively quiet. I could hear everything my companions said, and I didn't have to shout to be heard by them. That's quite unusual in Central London...
Very pretty room... food was unremarkable.
beautiful room, beautiful service absolutely delicious food
Breathtaking place to walk into, it already promised an exceptional experience, which it delivered in full.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and service was attentive but unobtrusive.
A perfect place to meet friends.
Had a corporate feel ... food unexciting ...and bland ... young staff all very good
Fantastic value menu at a beautiful restaurant. Generous portions of delicious, imaginatively prepared food and impeccable service.
The room is beautiful, the food is good and the service is terrible - this is our second time at Spring and on both occasions the service was appalling.
I'd been wanting to go for ages since reading a newspaper review and it lived up to expectations and more
A beautiful setting. The food is always delicious and service consistently excellent.
Enjoyable meal, lovely food and nice ambience. Would recommend.
Enjoyed the setting and the efficiency of the staff but were disappointed with the main course - fish curry which was tasteless and not resembling 'curry' at all. The 2 small pieces of fish were difficult to separate from the skin indicating in my opinion that they had not been thoroughly cooked.
Overall a great birthday lunch and one of the next meals we have had in recent times. Great ingredients. Well presented. Nice dining area. Enough space for all
Good food but the room lacked atmosphere....Can't see this place lasting. Neither fun nor exceptional food wise. Good but not great.....
We love Spring. For no-fuss amazing quality delicious food and very friendly service. And the room is beautiful. Also loving the approach to waste management with the scrap menu and going plastic free. It is not cheap but it is worth it.
WOW! Location, staff, setting, food were all FABULOUS! I can't wait to go to London again to return.
Very good food and excellent service and atmosphere
Spring has everything, fabulous food, a terrific wine list, wonderful (but not obtrusive) service and the restaurant is spacious enough to have quiet conversation.
A fabulous lunch in a gorgeous room with excellent service especially from the brilliant sommelier Xavier. We were a table of 8 and all of us were thrilled with our fresh, delicious and beautifully presented plates. Our vegan guest of honour was very happy too.
Been there a number of times and continuous to impress. High quality seasonal cooknhg on a smart yest relaxed and understated environment. Staff are frienldy but don't quite match the environment
The food was absolutely delicious but disappointing at the same time: surprisingly there were very few vegetarian options, only one main course so my friend had a second starter with a side salad. I really wanted to have the "scratch" menu but with only one choice for each course, eating lamb shank when it was 38 degrees outside was not very appealing, so I didn't.
Service was superb - there's an element of theatre about the place. The room itself is gorgeous, really stunning.
However, the biggest negative was the cost of the evening - for two people, we had two courses, a shared dessert, a bottle of wine which wasn't at all expensive for their wine list plus two glasses of wine, the entire thing came to well over £200. Be warned!
Exceptionally good restaurant; excellent service and quality; personal attention to visual and taste details to enhance the experience! Just superb! Highly recommended;
The receptionist was awfully rude!!
Fantastic food! In addition a beautiful room and excellent service
After a disappointing and over priced starter the main courses were excellent. Wine was good and although slightly intrusive staff were well informed. This is an expensive restaurant but for a special occasion it is worth it.
Great food, and an even better restaurant setting. The acoustics are perfect, and this is complimented by a fantastic table arrangement which ensures no guests are sat too close to one another.
Outstanding service, excellent and high quality food in a beautiful setting
Spring met our expectations for a first time visit. Starters were very good around as were desserts. We weren't all totally satisfied with our mains. Too much jus in the trout for example. Selection of beers was rather poor but the core de gascogne house type wine was lovely and served at the right temperature. Value was around expectations. Menu perhaps a little thin and we were surprised how quickly the restaurant thinned out after 930 on a friday. But overall very good, four stars
Consistently delicious food, worth having e Scratch menu if you are looking to try the menu for a competitive price. The a la carte can become expensive very quickly. Service is always very good and the restaurant is beautiful. Attention to detail is very good. The restaurant does become very noisy once it fills up as the ceilings are high.
