Steak and Cherry returns to the Glasgow restaurant scene after a three year absence. A 2011 fire in the building saw Steak and Cherry, a favourite Sauchiehall Street restaurant, close down, but the Glasgow city centre restaurant is returning in time for summer 2014 with the goal of becoming one of the best places to eat in Glasgow once again! Whether looking for a 5pm Glasgow meal or a cosy place to refuel after a night in one of Glasgow's clubs, Steak and Cherry is ready to serve you good quality - and lots of it! Having been one of the top Glasgow restaurants for years, Steak and Cherry is ready to win over the hearts and tastebuds of Glasgow again with an even better menu and service than before. This Sauchiehall Street bar and restaurant is back - when will you see what's at Steak?

After arriving to be told they no longer take bookings from open table, the manager huffed and puffed , showed us to a table and practically threw menus at us.....his attitude was appauling, absolutely no customer service from him , which is a shame as the other staff members were very good and the food was of a good standard. Unfortunately we will not return.

The surroundings are very pleasant but unfortunately the gentleman that was providing the live entertainment was really pretty bad, however, the staff realising this did not let him play for very long & they did go round asking the diners for their feedback. I had ordered meatballs which were cold when they brought them to the table but quickly changed them for me & couldn't apologise enough. I found the staff very friendly & they really made us smile making our evening very pleasant which I was delighted with as my husband & I were treating our friends to dinner to celebrate their anniversary as we do every year. Entertainment aside we all had a very lovely evening. Thanks again.

Went to the steak and cherry on the 16th April for lunch with my 2 daughters was fantastic from start to finish staff friendly and welcoming, food was soooo good would highly recommend, we used the pre-theatre menu which had plenty choice and was a very good price, service was second to none, can't wait to go back, thank you for making our lunch very enjoyable, hope to see you soon. And the milkshakes have not to be missed

We waited over 50 mins for our starters and we were not the only people to complain. The meal was average and we had to chase our dinner several times as we were going to a show. We thought this place would be ideal due to the location to theatre and previous reviews but we were sadly mistaken we WON`T BE BACK.

Since my friend first took me there on a Groupon voucher deal initially for a burger and a milkshake each for a tenner and then a pizza/pasta and a bud each for a tenner, I have been in a further 3 times and will be returning again very soon. The staff are very attentive, (without being pushy/annoying), and friendly. The place has a nice atmosphere and above all else the food is AMAZING! I am not overly adventurous with food, but my friends are and Steak And Cherry cater for varied tastes. They have an international menu, meaning there is lots of variety and choice. Even fussy eaters like myself will be happy. The milkshakes they are famous for are also superb. The menus consists of the choice of a wide ranging standard menu to a pre-theatre menu which offers 2 courses for £9.95 or 3 courses for £11.95. In the past year I have eaten at a variety of establishments in Glasgow and some have been brilliant, if pricey (Gusto, New York Bar and Grill), whereas others have been ok, but cheap (Yes Bar, formerly Vespar) which lacked atmosphere. Whereas here at Steak and Cherry they get everything just right. It's somewhere I feel pleased giving my business to, as they well and truly deserve it.

In the sense of fairness, if I were to give a criticism it would be that alot of their dishes use too many onions. Being someone with a severe intolerance to onions, I can find it quite daunting. On one occasion the staff did fail me, in that I requested no onions, only to then find the subsequent dish hoatching with onions.

In conclusion, this is a fine venue for a nice meal out with family or friends. You will get a top quality meal, excellent service and you will leave the place with a full belly and a happy wallet!

After an afternoon out shopping decided to find somewhere nearby to have dinner. Steak and Cherry was a nice clean and friendly establishment, with a good menu choice. Mostly American style diner cuisine but plenty of options and good value for money. I'd certainly choose to go there again if I'm in that area of the city centre.
