Stock Burger Co.
It’s not just a great bar. It’s both.
The food is really nice especially the shakes. A nice restaurant for a date night or just with friends.
It was our sons 11th birthday and he chose to dine at Stock Burgers in Brighton - great choice!
Service was fantastic - very attentive staff.
Good choice of food.
Good value for money.
We had a lovely lunch.
The buns were stale, the burger was burnt .. not just mine but everyone’s at the table. Chicken burger with coleslaw terrible combination. Chips were average. The girl was nice but generally the service was slow. Overall just bad all round.
The restaurant gave 20% off our meal but to be honest you couldn’t pay me to eat there again.
This is the second time i’ve been to Stock Burger and it was fairly disappointing. We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere however the service was fairly poor and the wait on food was long. I’m happy to wait longer for food but there was no communication about the lateness. Our plates were cleared and 15 mins later we had to go and find someone for the bill as no one had checked in with us.
nice friendly restaurant with good choice of drinks and variations on normal burgers e.g. with chicken, fish etc.
The food was very nice but the atmosphere was not very good. It was pretty dead when we arrived even though it was a Saturday evening. The burgers are quite expensive and everything else like the chips are extra so it so stacks up.
Good food, nice beer. Unfortunately overpriced but still a good student vibe... 20% student discount too softened the blow but beer is too over priced for what you get (size wise)
Good food.. quiet but all of the people in the room pushed close together..
Delicious food and very generous portions! The staff could not have been more attentive. Would be great for a date night, family meal or get together with friends.
Great food, great service. I’ve been to Stock Burger several times an never been disappointed.
When we arrived they were abrupt and rude. They claimed they never had my booking even though I provided an email showing them I had booked. They were argumentative. They said we can have a table but we will have to wait 50 minutes, almost as though it is all our fault. The food was good but they brought us extra food that we never ordered, which we tried to send back but they said we could have for free as it’s on our table. They then put it all on our bill along with a service charge, which wasn’t appropriate seeing as the staff were rude initially.
Lovely atmosphere, and a really nice, friendly welcome from the team who laid on an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Starters were excellent, however the burgers weren't actually that great. The use of a massive brioche bun meant that all the burgers were a bit dry. Starters were excellent though and the price was very reasonable.
Great starter platters, really good burgers, nice range of drinks. Liked his place a lot
The food was excellent would definately go back. The idea to build your own burger was great for me as i am a fussy eater and the cocktails and milkshakes are very good as well.
Great selection of burgers and sides and special mention to the macaroni & cheese chilli bites which were incredible. Tasty cocktails. Service was very friendly and attentive and was also very quick even when the restaurant started to get busy. Highly recommend
Was connected to our hotel which was very convenient not having to go out in the cold.
Reservation was not required when we turned up. Restaurant attached to hotel (Holiday Inn?) Big bar in the centre of the room with seating and tables all around. There was seating outside but on a chilly, windy February evening it was not being used. The sea was just across the road, so I'd surmise a very nice spot on a summers evening.
The burger and sweet potato fries were delicious and the beer was divine. They also had ciders and cocktails on the drinks menu. Didn't fancy any of the desserts so we had milkshakes instead and again, yummy (not too thick)
Only negative point - the 'facilities' were located up the stairs in the hotel and you needed to obtain the key-code from the reception. So I didn't bother.
The staff were all extremely happy and helpful. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Would be more than happy to return again.
Didn't unfortunately get the experience that other people have reviewed and had
Lovely food and environment. Staff are really nice and helpful.
We had such a lovely time here, the food was great and all the staff were so lovely! Would definitely recommend!
Really lovely food and staff and very cool design. Veggie option was really nice and the selection of drinks was good. Defo deserves a visit
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Lots of options for gluten free eaters like myself. Only downside is you cannot leave a tip (gratuity) on a credit card. I didn't have cash and the nearest cash point is a long way away and the last thing you want to be doing, after hours on end at the beach/on Brighton Pier, is taking yet another long walk! They were unbelievably gracious about it but I'd have loved to have been able to leave the tip they very much deserved! We'll be back again, with cash in hand!
Surprisingly empty on a Saturday night, friendly service and food came out really quick. The menu for vegetarians was really limited. I liked that the beer was paired with the burgers.
I visited Stock Burger Co with my wife and 3 teenage daughters. I'd been before and wanted my girls to experience the milkshakes and the burgers. We were given a booth by the window and we had a great spot to people watch. We had wings and nacho's to share as a starter and both plates went back clean. After that my daughters all chose to "build their own" burger and my wife and I chose from the list. The burgers were delicious, as were the sides and the bill was in line with what we normally pay for a family of five at Byron, Bills or Jamies.
There service was great and the team were very friendly and made the kids feel welcome. We will be back!
Really good food and service! Good burgers and good location
Spent our post Valentine dinner tonight with a burger and hotdog plus craft beer in mind. We had a reservation and was ushered to a roomy and comfortable table which is a great start. Immediately noticed it appears they were short staffed and despite this our orders were swiftly taken. Took a few minutes for our beer and appetisers to come but we don't mind. After a short wait our delicious food arrived with a surprise side freebie (many thanks!). Our experience was incredible since our waitress (sorry didn't get her name) was bubbly despite being terribly busy she managed to strike a conversation with us, what a jolly gal it shows she enjoys her job - well done! Can't wait to come back for more from the menu..soon
For a rare catch-up meal with my brother and sister we decided to try Stock Burger. After eating at the other highly-regarded Burger restaurants in town (Meat Liquor, GBK, Smash, Five Guys), we thought the brand presented itself well, both on it's website and from the neon signage/clean exterior. On arrival, (8:15pm Friday) we expected it to be busier with a diner atmosphere. It would be kind to suggest it felt 1/3 full.
We'd booked, but they were pretty quiet, so could take our pick where to sit. We chose a booth, but had to wait for it to be cleared from previous customers. It then took 15mins from sitting down to have our drink order taken. We decided to order food at this point as sensed it may be slow... Unfortunately we were right, our meal arrived in parts – my brother didn't receive his side orders until we'd all finished (20mins later).
In comparison to the vast choice of excellent burger options now on offer in Brighton, this one was underwhelming in taste. Overcooked dry meat, lacking sauce, and a regretful bun to burger ratio!
In fairness, we were offered a complimentary round of drinks as the staff who were there recognised service was slow. They were understaffed (one waitress/one barman on duty), and had it not been for the waitresses polite, apologetic/embarrassed nature (and the company of my family), this experience would have been a write-off.
SB have done an excellent job with their branding and exterior design, and it really sets itself up for high expectations. We would have had no idea this is part of the Holiday Inn Hotel group on the surface, and only realised this when having to walk through the hotel/up stairs to use the first floor toilet facilities and chatting with staff.
The two stars rating I've awarded of 'Fair' feels generous, but SB owe a lot to the staff who were polite. I really wanted this to be great, and think from this experience SB have a lot of work to do to succeed in a crowded market long-term.
Amazing food. Restaurant is situated in the hotel but don't be scared. It has nothing to do with poor hotel restajrants.foods vibrant and interesting. Full on flavours and bold textures.
Will be back
Loved my food.. very slow unattended service... and was dead so excuses.. staff friendly..but waited far to long for.drinks ect.. wouldn't recommend visit..
I took my bf here for a belated birthday meal. I loved the look of the restaurant. The food was incredibly tasty. The customer service was brilliant. We have already decided we will come back next month for valentines.
Absolutely loved it!! Proper burgers with proper meat, in a proper bun, with a proper good taste!! Best Burgers for miles around! All other burger bars this place sets the standard!!
Can't wait to go back!
Excellent location and setting, brilliant customer service there were 29 of us !
Asked for a window booth upon booking and informed them that we were celebrating a birthday. Our reservation was not looked at when we arrived despite me telling the server I had made one. We were seated uncomfortably close to another table of 2. All booths were huge- could have been told over the phone that not suitable for our party of 2. Ordered a vodka coke and a beer- still hadn't received our drinks by the time the food came 30 minutes later. Food itself was great, portobello burger was amazing for a vegetarian and sweet potato fries were great. overall reasonably priced but service needs some work!
Great food and good service. Lovely evening.
Keen to return again!
Was expecting a busy vibrant venue with great atmosphere, close to the heart of Brighton (according to the website)
Reality was a very brisk 20 minute walk away from all the bright lights, pretty standard (boring) burger menu, only 4 tables occupied on a Thursday evening at 8pm......the staff were so bored, they were cleaning everything in sight.....
The burger itself was distinctly average - not worth the walk.
Oh, and if you wanted the toilet, it was in the hotel next door, via an adjoining doorway.
No, I wouldn't recommend it, unless the prices were considerably lower to reflect the 'average ess'
I was very disappointed, really tasteless cocktails, ages the waiting time, doing nothing staff, horrible experience will never return.
Beautiful views are to be had from this restaurant and the food is great and waiters/waitresses very polite and friendly. Terrible slow servuce though due to not enough staff . I have been twice now and the slow but fruendly service bith times. Something isn't quite working correctly. Still wonderful food though.
Had a lovely evening at Stock Burger, with family. One veggie in the group. We enjoyed Nachos to start, one mear and one veggie, very tasty would have again. We all had a burger and a couple of potions of fries between us. We managed to eat everything but were completely stuffed. We would all go again.
I visited in the evening and sat outside. Despite two approaches, it took the staff 35 minutes to take my order.
We booked this as I pass it every day and like to try out new restaurants. It was Pride in Brighton on the day we went and I hoped there would be a party atmosphere. There was a party atmosphere most with the bar staff partying and not working. Drinks were really slow to the table and the bar man (white wig for the party) was really rude. No hello or please or thank you or here you are . The waitress for our table was excellent and tried hard to please, alas her colleagues let her down. They need to focus on customer service as there are plenty of other restaurants in Brighton !! Food was good though!!
