If you’re looking for an old School Italian dining experience this is the place to be.
It was ok. It was pasta in the water and expensive
Awesome place if you’re looking to have dinner and a bit of an experience. Great food and drinks and the energy is super lively and energetic.
Food and drinks were delicious! Our reservation was pushed back a half hour but overall great date night
The Chicken Marsala with the homemade pasta was so flavorful. Best I’ve ever had. The pasta tossed in the cheese wheel table side, underwhelming for the high price. Skip it. Can’t wait to return though!
Went for Christmas Dinner with family. Vibrant, noisy atmosphere. Restaurant was packed. Service was reasonably attentive. Amore tableside pasta was flavorless. Veal limone was rubbery and bland. Bolognese was pretty good. Very meaty. Pesto pasta was good.
Strega never disappoints! The food is top notch and they hire THE BEST waitstaff in town! Our waiter David was exceptional.
The food was top notch as usual. The ONLY complaint I have about this place is they jam WAY too many people in the space. To the point to where for someone to go to the bathroom they have to pull tables out and move them out of the way. The lemon veal dish is probably one of the best tasting things ever. I did think the dish made in the cheese wheel was over spiced to the point you can't taste the cheese the dish was made in... which kind of defeats the purpose? But overall great place with top notch service.
Christmas dinner unbelievable veal Parmesan great vibes
Not the place for a quiet dinner and conversation
Much younger pumped in electronic music vibe
Couldn’t cut chicken with a knife

Tourist directed faux Italian frat party
My family’s favorite spot! Best restaurant in the North End!
Food and service was incredible! Would definitely go again.
Loud house music made it impossible to converse. Good is good. I won’t be returning.
Fabulous first and second course, attentive service. A bit on the cozy side and loud. No dessert available for some reason.
The food was great as always. A great place to meet up with friends for good wine, good food and good fun. The meatball and the buratta are great starters. The pasta mixed in the wheel of Parmigiana is great as well.
The spicy vodka sauce pasta was incredible! Service was also stellar & the drinks were incredible too! Definitely recommend!
Love the food…just wonderful
The staff is great and friendly
Always the absolute best
Love Carlo…he’s the best
Super fun! Great energy!
Absolute best brunch I've ever been to. Will be returning the next time I am in Boston.
The food is good but it's not worth the chaos in there. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation time and felt like we were shoved into the side. Our server seemed annoyed every time he came to our table. This was our second time here and both times we had the same type of experience.
I took my wife for her birthday as we go to Strega both in The North End and the Waterfront. However, the owner sold the Waterfront location, so we went back to where we had always had a great experience. Sadly, Strega has lost us. The place is like eating in a nightclub, as it was wayyyyy too loud for any eating establishment. I have never had anyone send a change in my reservation time to make it appear as we changed it through OpenTable either. We were not seated on time and they endeavored to change it to create that appearance. The food was solid and the waitress did her job, but it was not the experience that we had come to envision over the 8 years we had done business with Nick Varano. Sadly, it is not longer the place we grew to love and recommend. I guess it is time to find some new establishments for special occasions. I am sad I even have to say this, but it was just that bad.
Food, as always, was outstanding.
We shared the eggplant rollatini to start (could have been a larger portion) but very tasty and well presented.
Wife had the fusilli with lobster in vodka sauce - Outstanding and healthy portion.
I had the fettuccini with scallop and shrimp in truffle cream sauce - Excellent and decent sized portion.
VERY energetic atmosphere but fun! One of our favorites
Hands down best veal chop I have ever had in my life. Highly recommend.
We arrived on-time and the hostess said she would text me when ready. We waited outside in the cold for 30 mins. I went back in to check and she had forgotten about us. At that time, she still couldn’t find us a table. It was past 9pm and we had to go somewhere else. I was with my boss’s boss. Really bad look for me, very disappointed.
We arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait a half hour out in the snow for our table to be ready. Told waiting inside was a fire hazard although the way the tables are arranged inside is one big fire hazard.
Food is good but the Techno Music blasting was to loud we had to yell to talk
Service was terrible, would be speaking mid sentence and the waiter would walk away. He rushed us out within an hour even with ordering multiple cocktails, appetizers, and entrees.
Food was served cold which was absolutely disappointing for spending an overall $200 on dinner.
Wouldn’t recommend to tourist or even locals.
Overall very loud and tight place. Wouldn’t come back.
Good food. Good service. Nothing great. Noise level of music was deafening. Rest room disgusting. Will not go back.
Food was outstanding. We loved this place. Busy and quirky.
We made reservations for Thanksgiving Day at night, however we were able to modify it thru Opentable. Upon arrival the hostess took us to the table (high table) located near the bar. Lesson learned not to booked near the bar.
The waitress forgot to bring us the bread. We ordered from the regular menu and not the Thanksgiving special: bolognese, mushroom risotto and whipped ricotta as appetizer. In order to make a request, we were better off notifying the hostess than getting the attention of our waitress. At the end of dinner they brought us the bill without asking us if we wanted dessert or coffee, BIG MISTAKE !!! The attention of the other waiters was constant at their tables, but not so for us. Unfortunate that a poor service would damage what would have been a special dinner while visiting Boston.
Great meal, fun atmosphere
Incredible food, fun atmosphere, and great service.
Great food, entertaining experience and good people watching as well. The staff is wonderful and the food exceptional flavor.
We love everything about Strega's. We were seated at a high top in the bar area right by the window, great for people watching. We split the grilled eggplant for an appetizer, I had a steak flatbread pizza and my husband had chicken margarita. Everything came out hot and on time and was delicious. The vibe was merry and lively. We highly recommend Strega's.
The food was great. Service was decent. Ambiance was like you were in a club. Blasting loud music. I expected a nice romantic Italian restaurant but I got an Italian nightclub with good food. So if that’s your thing then definitely go. If you are looking for a nice peaceful intimate dinner date. Do not go.
Hostess was rude, tables were absolutely packed. People were sitting right in front of the bathrooms. We had 5 people at a 4 person table, which was extremely uncomfortable since we didn’t have any room. When we asked to pull up another chair they just said “no” and walked away. They were turning tables as fast as possible trying to get ppl out asap, we all felt rushed.
This was the best date spot ever! So lively and fun.
I have never been rushed out of restaurant so fast. My friend and I booked our reservation here because we were going to have a nice, relaxed dinner and treat ourselves (it was going to be our Christmas gift to each other). They sat us down and tried rushing us out within 25 minutes of being there. When we ordered, the food was brought out within 3 minutes, meaning it had been sitting in the back already prepared for who knows how long. The waiter kept coming over to our table and trying to rush us out. They had a party renting out the restaurant TWO HOURS AFTER we got there. They actually called us the night before asking if we'd want to bump up our reservation so that we WOULDN'T have to be rushed out, which we did. We were so disappointed, so much for a nice dinner.
Very disappointed! Overcrowding that was almost dangerous. We were seated at a table and in a short period of time literally had other guests sitting on all sides of us with their chairs up against our table!
No table side Parmesan wheel cooking as advertised l,,, they wouldn’t have been able to get to us with the seating the way it was.
Food was good not as good as usual, but seating and service was horrible!
Wow. They don't carry regular vodka, only SVEDKA flavored vodka. What is this - a high school party!? Extremely loud, food was sub par, tiny space, uncomfortable. Don't go.
