Succotash - National Harbor
SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified and passed from generation to generation for centuries. While Succotash between families will share similarities, each family’s recipe is deeply personal and reminiscent of those special suppers that brings kin together. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

Our waiter was extremely attentive and cared for our needs quickly and efficiently. I went for a Birthday dinner and the ambiance was nice so that we could enjoy ourselves without being overpowered by background noise. The of course was good (especially the smoked wings) and came out very quickly and fresh. I will 100% be returning to Succotash
My group and I tried the family style meal where you pay $25 each and try about 5 different dishes. I would highly recommend the family style meal, all of the dishes were delicious and well portioned. I visited the restaurant during lunch time on MLK holiday so it was likely much busier than normal. The peak hours put a bit of a strain on the service level and noice level. However, everyone executed their roles very well. I would certainly visit again.
With the noise level, it was hard to hear the waitress with through her mask.
Went for brunch and absolutely enjoyed the full experience. The food and drinks were great and our server, Kay, was awesome!
Food was good, enjoyed it. Table next to use was a bit loud but not for an extended period of time. Overall enjoyed the restaurant and food.
Overall, the food was okay but over priced and the restaurant was too dark. Decided to meet friends for dinner and we ordered family style "Taste of the South". The portions were small especially for the fellas. The desert was disappointing - just a hard cookie, nothing special. The drinks were not good. The white wine was served at room temperature, one martini had to be remade because it had a great deal of olive juice - yuk! and another martini was spilled all over our friends. Unfortunately, the ingredients for that spilled martini the restaurant ran out of so they couldn't remake it - bummer. We really wanted to like this place but I don't know if we'll return. The smoked wings were good as was the mac n cheese. The waffle served was hard and believe me when I tell you, it was only one waffle to be divided amongst four people. Only 2 star worthy for this visit.
My 8th wedding anniversary
The food was good, the ambiance great, and service was very fast. The kids loved the chicken and waffles and the wings were a win with everyone!
Outstanding meal and service. Christopher was a great host!
The food was nothing special. Was not aware this was a chain restaurant and the menu and food showed as such. We ordered a drink off the menu and was brought something completely different and when we inquired about it, the staff advised the menu had changed but things still remained that were not available. The food was very bland.
The prices (to high) should match the quality of the food, and that's not the case.
We made a reservation about 30 minutes before we got there- and I’m so glad we did! The place was packed and we got the last seats in there. The food was spectacular, a little noisy for the beginning of the night but got quieter as it got later. High end eating experience for a very good price.
Our server Darren was awesome! The food is always amazing. This is a go to spot for entertaining our out of town guests.
perfect Saturday brunch! cozy little booth for two. crudité for a starter, Bellini to drink and avocado toast for an entree. we were in and out within an hour!
Warm ambiance. Staff was very welcoming. Food was delicious. The appetizer with biscuits, pimento cheese and vegetables was great value. Would definitely come back.
Great food and great service. The drinks were also great.
Best catfish sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Amazing cocktails. Server Morgan knowledgeable and cheery.
Service was fast, and our waitress was very nice.
Certainly not your typical cuisine but don’t be intimidated the server can explain each item. I enjoyed the “dirty chicken” and corn bread appetizer. My guests reached out of their comfort zones and enjoyed their meals. Highly recommend!
PS portions are huge!
This was the first in a long period since last dinning there. Good food and Service.
Delightful late meal on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, several of the main entrees weren't available, but the Trout was delicious
My guest and I loved the ambiance but the food was not worth the price we paid. We ordered smoked wings, cheesy grits, deviled eggs and hush puppies as apps. The apps were okay but we returned the grits; it was bland. Our main entree was beef short ribs and trout. I wasn’t given a proper knife to cut my ribs and it was very fatty and had no flavor. My guest like the trout entree.
If you want a romantic atmosphere then this is the place but go somewhere else for good food.
balki was the best!!
wait was too long for drinks
1/2 way through appetizers before bartender had drinks ready
oysters are NOT mildly spicy - super spicy to the point of not being enjoyable. I eat spicy all of the time. I don’t think this is at all what you intended.
catfish was good
ribeye was good
a very nice dinner
Good food and service. Prices were very reasonable and I will be back next time we visit national Harbor.
Great dinner … Tanya was the perfect server … had great suggestions, funny and very personal. Food was amazing
The Nashville fried Oysters were out of this world. The Spiced rubbed BBQ Pork ribs were not tender at all and it was hard to cut. The waffle in the Chicken and waffles was also very hard. the service from Chris was excellent.
I was out with coworkers for a office holiday luncheon. The entrees were good, however, the desserts were less than desirable! I ordered the Hummingbird cake and it arrived “looking” wonderful. However, it was EXTREMELY DRY and overcooked. I shared it with my coworkers and they were not interested either. Well, well, here is where it becomes interesting. The manager came over and I expressed my concerns. She responded saying it was dispersed on other plates at the table and she could not switch out the dessert, but charge us 1/2 the price because it wasn’t on the same plate. I suggested taking their small tastes and putting it back on my plate. She became visibly annoyed and said she’d remove it from the check.
With that being said, I could possibly have given them 4 stars, but the manager’s inability to provide customer service without major attitude, forces me to give a lower score. Is it worth going back given the number of restaurants at the National Harbor? I would say NO.
I love this restaurant. The “Taste of the South” is the way to go to get the best bang for your buck. The only thing that’s bad is the dessert. It’s the absolute worse. The chocolate pecan pie taste like fig newtons. No chocolate taste at all. The cookies are dry bricks. They need to scrap the desserts and try something new.
My boyfriend and I had the BBQ Beyond Burger with Fries and it was AMAZING! Very tasty and filling! I would like to suggest that they offer Gluten Free buns for burgers. Our drinks were really good also. I had the mocktail ginger peach drink that was VERY good! We can't wait to go back to Succotash - National Harbor!
The food was really good and the service was awesome!
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend the "Taste of the South" The portions are more than enough.
Food was good. Interesting menu items.
The food was not good and not worth the price. The table we were assigned was broken and very unstable. The staff seemed to be aware of the broken table but didn’t try to fix it or move us to another table.
This was such a good experience from the service to the food!!!! I highly recommend them. Our waitress Rache was great!!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
Excellent place, would highly recommend to everyone visiting the area. I wish I lived closer then it would be our go to restaurant for sure! Great fresh food and the service was top notch.
The lighting was too low. We couldn't read the menu without the flashlight on our cell phones. The service, food, and drinks were AMAZING! This was the first time I've had dinner here and it did not disappoint. I knew the brunch was great, and the dinner was just as great.
Good food. Nice atmosphere
Interesting menu, but could use a little more detail on what's in each dish. Hush puppies had a distinctive clove taste, which is NOT what true Southern hush puppies taste like. My market salad was fresh, but had mostly lettuce with a few slices of apples and butternut squash. My companion's Caesar salad was more traditional. The barbecue pork dish was hearty and tasty, but my companion's beef short ribs dish was VERY spicy. Again, not really a Southern dish - according to this reviewer who was born and raised in the south. So - average on the food. BUT - our server, Asia, was delightful - personable, attentive, and efficient. So - excellent on the service. Perhaps we should have asked more questions about the food, so we wouldn't have been as surprised by the unusual flavors.
The food was just “ok”. I ordered the catfish, Mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables. They were out of brussel sprouts so they substituted with zucchini. The zucchini wasn’t seasoned well. It was actually floating in water and all the seasoning. I sent it back. The Mac and cheese and catfish were good but a tad salty. The drinks were good.
Good service, decent food. A little pricey for the portion sizes (on the smaller side)
