Food was great! Love the ambiance. I’ll be back soon!!
Ok place. Long wait and strong drinks. Was questioned by management why me and my friends didn't want our drinks. I suggest if you come here come early 7p/8p and make reservations if possible.
I live In CT and it’s worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. It was our 2nd time there and still yummy. My fiancé is now a vegetarian since our last visit and he still was able to find something yummy to eat (he doesn’t eat seafood either). We will return for our 3rd visit hopefully with friends 😊
Great vibes, i thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was my first time there and im def goin back
We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and we were treated very well. The service and food were exceptional.
Amazing Caribbean food and drinks for a great price point.
The margarita pitcher was weak :( the empanada were so compacted you don’t have the chance to really taste the flavor. I ordered the paeja as my entree in which the ones I’ve bought for $10 in Jackson Heights have tasted better. My friend ordered the dish with steak (i should have ordered it as well) — at least the CHURROS were great!!
The food was amazing! The service was amazing! Great staff! Music was great! Overall a wonderful experience
Nice vibe inside but music a bit to loud if you're trying to have a conversation. But I went for the food which is really good, try the Oxtail Pizza it's an appetizer and anything curry as your main course. Drinks are good, try a cocktail or a Caribbean drink.
The wait to be seated was a few minutes despite the reservation, but it was NYE so I understood. I enjoyed the Dancehall and Soca that they had playing as well. I was seated upstairs and it had a nice warm ambiance about it, there’s a bathroom upstairs as well so no need to go downstairs. The drinks were nice and strong, couldn’t even finish two as the designated driver lol. Food was delicious, could’ve used more heat in the Jerk, but I know that it has to be palatable to everyone. The mashed yams were surprisingly light for such a starchy vegetable. We skipped dessert, but overall we had a great time and enjoyed the complimentary champagne toast.
The wait was long but i enjoyed everything else
The girl at the check in desk at Suede was not professional and not accommodating at all. We had a 5pm reservation and still ended up having much confusion as to when we would be seated at our table. She was also rude about my partner being in sweatpants, which we understood was not part of their dress code but she could’ve handled how she communicated this to us much better. I had to ask her to speak with her manager, who recognized the situation immediately and attempted to rectify it. The manager realized we were not aware of the dress code prior (Suede may want to do better about informing guests upon making a reservation) and saw that we are hard working professionals on holiday break, and allowed us to stay. Kudos to the manager. Once seated we were told by our server that many items such as the oxtail pizza (which was the reason we had picked Suede over nearby older Caribbean restaurant competitor, Footprints) and certain ginger drinks that “we don’t have/it’s not available”. Another disappointing blow to not have those items especially on a peak Sunday evening/holiday weekend! Sadly & unfortunately the food we did order, the wings (which were lukewarm) and Hellshire fish and chips were very bland. I kept hoping our visit to Suede would improve and it did not. I regret to say next time my choice will most definitely be Footprints where I have had consistently better experience and food.
I took my Father Here for his 60th birthday and He really enjoyed everything about it
Not my first time and I always come back. Food, service, music and ambiance is always top notch.
The customer service is worse than McDonald’s. Attitude all the way up to the manager was disgusting. Food was good, and so was the decor, but the workers sucked
The staff were very professional and patient with me and my group. We are arrived late and they still accommodated us with courtesy and respect. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance. We will be back. Thank you
FOOD WAS GREAT! SO DELICIOUS! OUR SERVER, LACKED ENTHUSIASM, WASNT INTERESTED. KEPT FORGETTING OUR SIDES
The food is not good. I’ve tried Suede several times and have never enjoyed my meal. I will not go back and it’s not a place I will recommend to others.
Very good food...ambiance..good service from waiters....
I’ve been wanting to visit Suede restaurant for a while now and finally went tonight. I was not disappointed at all. Food was amazing and so was the staff. I’ll definitely be back!!!
Lisa was an amazing server!
My first thing was calling for a reservation. Called in the night before, left a message and no one returned my call. Made a reservation on open table for less people than needed just so I could make sure I had one. I called the restaurant back at 4:15 the next day (the day of the reservation) because I hadn’t received a return call and the young lady was very non chalant regarding the reservation and them not returning my call. Anyway, get to the restaurant. Waited to be seated. Got seated. Received our food. My nephews food came with a piece of grill cleaner in it. Sent it back. Took them about another 35 minutes to bring out his dinner. By then the rest of us were done eating. Got the bill, they had the nerve to charge us for the food with the piece of metal and had the nerve to charge $4.50 for a glass of seltzer water. This was about my 5th visit to this place and I doubt I will be back. This was the worst experience of them all.
Everything was great. However, I was not happy about the 25 minute wait even though I was on time for my reservation. The hostess asked if our reservation was with opentable or Suede's website. There were groups that came in after us and was seated so it makes a difference where you make reservations. If patrons are over 10 minutes they can be placed on a wait list even with reservations. Yet it's ok for patrons to wait 25 minutes for a table.
Horrible, horrible!!! The reservation staff was rude and abrasive. They need training in customer service. The food was ok, wasn't up to par. My friend stated, "the fish was tough and old." Definitely will not support that business anymore.
The brunch menu is nice and the drinks are cheaper during that time. I love the fact the restaurant was not crowded. Food comes out the kitchen really fast and the presentation is great. It is great for groups during brunch hours and good service.
Delicious food! The wait was a little annoying but not to bad. Oxtail pizza was amazing! As were the main dishes!
My husband and I date night
Our waitress was so kind! Helpful with explaining menu selections and making my mother's birthday a success.
Came here as a recommendation from a family member who visited for her birthday on a Tuesday night and couldn't stop raving about it. Needless to say, the Saturday evening experience was quite different. We were a party of three and the tables were so close, we were practically on top of the other diners. When asked the person who seated us for a different table, we were told that there was nothing else available but the place looked pretty empty to me. We had the salmon crabcakes and jerk shrimp skewers appetizers which were tasty however when it came to the drinks we had to return the frozen passion fruit and Hennessy coladas, very watery and weak, didn't taste any alcohol. Dinner turned out to be a drab, the oxtails I ordered were hard, very undercooked and fatty. The green beans side were overcooked. My sister had the jerk splashed salmon, which she said were ok. My son had the Hellshire fish and chips and more chips which when he asked for substitute sides was not accommodated so we ordered a side of fried plantains which didn't come out with the meal so we had to remind the waitress and when eventually did come, were cold. Another side, mac and cheese was not the best quality of cheeses. Our meal came to about $80 a head which judging from the fact that it was next door to a tire shop was overly expensive. The better part of the meal however was the music which I stopped by on the way out to compliment the DJ. I definitely won't be back!
Not only the service is good. You always feel welcome very time you come to this restaurant. The food is wonderful including the cocktails.
Been here numerous times and the food is always good and so are the drinks
Celebrated my husbands birthday with friends. It was our first time here and most definitely NOT our last. Our server Lisa was fantastic she made recommendations on appetizers, entrees and drinks!! Everything was simply perfect the ambiance the food and the drinks. My husband enjoyed himself as did the rest of the group. Nothing but GREAT things to say about this restaurant, it was an amazing night out. Thank you Suede for making our night out one to remember.
They didn't have all of the menu choices available. My whole party had to change their initial order. Manager and waitress were great.
I went for my birthday. I’ve been there before so I already knew how nice the place was. I like how they treat the Birthday person to free app and entree. Has to be the same day.
All around great place
Come and see for yourself
We had a wonderful time at Brunch .the drinks was amazing the food was great .service was excellent and atmosphere the best .
*Lack of customer service*
We went here to celebrate our son's Birthday. At the venue, they claim individuals celebrating their birthday eat free (appetizer, entree and cake). Server was not attentive(never asked if we were ok, we had to chase him dw. to order another drink/entree), he stayed close to bar dancing to the music playing playing. Meanwhile, he was only serving two tables. Later, a large party came in and he forgot all about us, cake, & the bill. I went to front desk reception to make a complaint, I asked if I could pay my bill there & dispute an additional charge to bill". The receptionist took my card & bill a gave to someone else to assist. They came back to table with check & claimed, "no card was given". It somehow miraculously reappeared by another server, hmmm...
*I would not recommend this place for lack of customer service.*
From start to finish my experience here was not great. I chose this place because my friend is a fan. Initially I tried to make the reservation via there website and it was not working so I decided to email them. I never received a response to my email. I also sent a message on their IG still no response. In spite of all this I still ended up making the reservation via "open table". We were seated one hour after our reservation and the food was mediocre. I don't think I will ever go back. I stated my issues and nothing was done.
Bad experience. Orders were wrong. People that came after us, got seated before us. Glass was filthy.
