Food ordered was good but being a Sunday evening several dishes were unavailable.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was first class and fresh. When next in the area will certainly call in again and maybe stay over night.
another fabulous meal at the Sugarbeet. Sunday lunch with relatives and never disappointed. Outside we had drinks and the garden has a huge marquee and outdoor seating. then fabulous roast beef lunch for two of us and fish and chips for te other two guests. derserts were fabulous, Eton Mess, icecream and a cheesecake all yummy well done see you all in a few weeks. oh and all the staff are charming
Visited the Sugarbeat for Sunday Lunch. Hands down best Sunday Lunch I have had out in a very long time.
We’ve been to The Sugar Beat a few times and they never disappoint. We’ve done several family brunches, lunches and dinners. We’ve also done evenings out with friends and also a few Ladies Wot Lunch. The service is always spot on. Everyone is incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious and great value for money. Can’t wait for our next visit; probably be back in a couple of weeks.
Excellent food amazing service and lovely place to chill out for breakfast. Highly recommended
Very pleasant brunch enjoyed by our party. Very helpful staff who allowed a frail member of our party another way out of the restaurant. Poached eggs slightly over done though, otherwise the food was ok.
The servers and staff were all warm and friendly, which created a great atmosphere. The dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection. Our steaks came out perfect and we all loved the chunky chips and sweet potatoe fries, the hunters chicken has also convinced us that we need to come again to try more of the menu too.
Lovely place good value for money, busy, but service was a bit slow,
Limited menu but good choices. Staff were over efficient when taking orders. We wanted to take our time and felt as if they wanted us to hurry through our meals.
Food was poor and sauce for steak had split. Service very slow, had to ask twice for the bill.
Staff did not know if Covid App was still legal requirement either, think staff shoud have been briefed on new rules etc
Sad as been several times before and never had any complaints
Lovely food, value for money and exceptional staff!!!
Not impressed I'm afraid. Ketchup in sachets, flies buzzing over my food and I thought that the prices were quite expensive.
Won't be returning in a hurry.
I celebrated my 70th with husband and family and it was a perfect restaurant for such. An occasion to remember in days to come. Food delicious and surroundings beautiful.
As always the food was great, the staff helpful and polite.
My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch p, we were not hurried and the whole experience was leisurely and comfortable.
Would recommend you pay them a visit
We’ve been coming to the sugarbeat for a while now we are NEVER disappointed when we go the staff are always wonderful humans and the food omg 😱 AHMAZING.. we don’t bother going anywhere else now just no point. Best eating house on the A140.
Juliette, WOW, thank you for your kind words. I have passed on your review to the whole team. There's nothing we can really say other than thank you. We hope to see you again soon. Regards Stevie & the SB team.
The staff were warm, welcoming and efficient. The food was very nice but not exceptional, but priced appropriately. The let down for us was flies - there was an abundance of them and it spoilt the experience, resulting in the 3 stars instead of 4.
Really great food and friendly staff, both those waiting at the table and the front of house.
Great service, great value and local. What’s not to like?
I have to say that in my opinion SugarBeat is the best restaurant i have been to for a long time. Service and food is excellent and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Would of liked more fish dishes as my wife loves fish but as it was the situation that we are all in & nothing to do with the Sugar Beat couldn't complain cos what they did have was lovely & worth a trip
Not the restaurant to go to if you are vegan, very basic. Crispy tofu is not crispy, just cooked with noodles and sweet chilli sauce. Pasta dish was bland and tasteless, burger bun burnt, arrived to a dirty table too. You can do so much better at home.
Staff were freindly and helpful, they adapted the menu to suit my low carb way of eating. I would have liked to see a non battered or non tempura fish chouce on the menu. My husband enjoyed his food to. Would rwcommend tge SugarBeat for casual eating out
Second visit in a week. Always value for money, staff warm, friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food and drinks - try the breakfasts, they're really good.
First meal out since lock down began , and it couldnt have good better so thank you Sugar Beet. Very friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyable meal, appreciated the extra touch of a glass of prosecco and a candle in the dessert in celebration of a birthday.
A delicious breakfast and beautifully presented. Thanks!
Little disappointed with the service and meal this weekend, firstly one of our drinks wasn’t bought to table so ended up having to re order it, then the Chicken in the roast dinner was a little over cooked and dry!
Excellent menu. Very clean. Lovely staff. Would definitely recommend.
Arrived for late breakfast the food was ok ok, staff and venue welcoming
Had a pleasant experience at the Sugarbeat. The service was outstanding (waitress was Dotty who is always very pleasant) I had the Vietnamese tofu salad which was nice but too dry, the sauce was lovely but needed more of it to make it less dry. Food is a little overpriced but everything else was great, thank you.
Keep coming back here just a wonderful place to go always so nice and friendly food guaranteed amazing.
Shortened menu from "normal" but still good value and friendly service.
Fab food, drinks and service. Couldn't ask for more - unlike Oliver!
Food was great - excellent fish and chips! Very friendly staff.
Very attentive staff - Salmon from the specials menu was LUSH
We were asked to eat and leave within an hour as they needed our table. Everything felt very rushed.
Food was decent, we just felt unwelcome
24th Wedding Anniversary

A lovely place to have a meal food and service was great and reasonably priced.
Another lovely meal at sugarbeet. The evening meal is more extensive that lunch so had asparagus and Hollandaise to start then Vietnamese beef salad. And ice cream. All delicious. The rest of the table had garlic bread. Tempura prawns. Samosa then either fish and chips or burger. All really tasty. Great value and immaculately clean. Be back soon
Service was great and really quick. Food was absolutely incredible.
