The service at Sunset COve was Great, the Staff is very pleasant. We had the lobster roll it was very good. Deserts were very good also. Can't wait to go back and try something else.
Great food, beautiful view. Attentive staff. Food was very good and love the option eating outside or in. Great ambiance!
Excellent strawberry mojitos, very good crab cakes, and lobster roll. Not a very personable waiter, however, riverside on the Hudson on a summer day made up for that.
I have mixed feelings about writing this review. Sunset Cove has magnificent views with a friendly vibe and is one of my go-to favorites. Two things happened which were unsettling. Our friend asked about one of the pasta specials and stated he couldn’t eat spicy food. When his dish arrived, it was very spicy and he had to substitute his meal. I ordered the salad with apples, pine nuts, pistachios, etc. and while halfway through eating the salad, I bit into a large jagged piece of pistachio shell which was in the salad. I panicked at first thinking I broke a tooth and scratched the inside of my gum. I was grateful it wasn’t swallowed and shutter to think of what damage that could have happened. I didn’t want to cause a scene, I quietly told the waiter about the salad and offered reassurances that it didn’t reflect on him. I have no complaints about our waiter or the restaurant in general but don’t believe they should have charged for the salad. They did however give one dessert on the house.
A great location on the Hudson River in Tarrytown. Sunset with the NEW TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE was delightful. Dinner was good and service was attentive without being " too much".
Beautiful location. I recommend going during the sunset, it was beautiful to look at while enjoying a great meal. We ordered the scallops and salmon. Probably the most perfectly cooked scallops I have ever had!
The view on a beautiful night cannot be beat anywhere.
Beautiful evening along the Hudson. The service was good, the cocktails tasty. The branzino was a little overcooked. But leave room for the brownie sundae
When we arrived for our reservation, the host set us at a table by the entrance going outside. We ask him if we could have a window by the water and he informed us that would be a 45 minute wait. 10 minutes later he move the table who arrived after us to a table by the water. 10 minutes after that he did it again. When we questioned him about it he said that we should’ve told him that we wanted to sit by the water once we sat down. It didn’t ruin our meal but we were definitely frustrated.
Amazing setting with delicious food and very welcoming and efficient staff
Haven’t been here in a while and can’t believe what I have been missing! The view is even more spectacular than I recalled, with the colored lights of the bridge.
The waitstaff here is responsive and terrific. My server brought me a perfect Hendricks Gin and Tonic. Very nice menu, too. Not happy with our first course orders. Didn’t love the salad, dressing was too sweet and greens too wilted and my friend didn’t enjoy her soup. Pasta e fagiol she said was too garlicky. Matter of taste. My strip steak was delicious. The order was for medium rare to the rare side and was presented medium well. The server returned it and quickly brought back the perfectly grilled steak.
The piece de resistance was the brownie sundae with ice cream, whipped cream and cherry syrup. We sipped cappuccinos and enjoyed the lavender lights of the bridge and the perfect, warm summer breeze. Wonderful evening.
Where do I begin ? The minute you step to outside dining area the view is spectacular. Our reservation was for 5:00 pm. Live music in the back ground, breath taking view of the mountains and river, and who would think that a view of a bridge would be incredible, especially at night with the beautiful color lights, it simply just adds to the ambience, it's part of the neighborhood along with the river and mountains. The food and service was outstanding. I came from Long Island and it was worth the drive to this incredible restaurant and the town itself, after dinner walked over to the outdoor boat club for more music and drinks.
Delicious food and spectacular views make this a favorite. Add wonderful service and warm weather and it was a terrific evening. So nice to be able to have cocktails by water while waiting for outside table.
Food and view were amazing!!
Can’t wait to go back!
Service was very accommodating and personable!!
Had reservations for indoor dining and opted to seat outside. Waited 30 minutes for outdoor table. Service was good and friendly. Three out of four food order was good. The fourth one was tasty but the pasta was not cook well. It was not even al dente. Send it back and it came back again with under cooked pasta. My friend decided to decline a third time and ate left overs from our dishes. Management gave him a free desert for their mistake. Don’t know if we will ever come back.
The view is amazing! However, food and drinks are really just average. Hubby and I both got a pasta dish, it’s nice that the pastas were homemade but they came out super watery and taste super plain... is it a place I would scream to go back soon? Maybe next summer for a drink...
We went to the marketplace for dessert...
Great spot for dining outside, right on the Hudson River with wire of the Mario Cuomo Bridge and sensational sunsets. Food is good but service just OK. Waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
Always enjoy dinner at Sunset Cove. The fried calamari was superb as was the tuna tartar. Only negative was it rained so we couldn’t dine outdoors.
It was a beautiful evening to dine outside on the water. My husband and I shared the tuna tartar appetizer, sea scallops and chicken scarpiello. Food was great. Lemon drop martini was spot on as well.
Great food! Great service! Amazing view! I highly recommend you visit!
Limited menu desert was dried out. Get view of Hudson River all ln all enjoyed atmosphere
Delicious. Good value. Kids pricing. Was difficult to know who our server was bc interactions was limited. Auto gratuity was convenient but a little presumptuous.
This was my 3rd time at Sunset Cove. The food was excellent the 1st 2 times but this time there were major problems with 3 out of 4 meals in my group. I was served 2 dead mussels. The octopus appetizer my husband's risotto and my spaghetti were overcooked. My friend's filet mignon had to be sent back twice. She ordered it medium rare to rare and it came well done the 1st time and raw the 2nd time. By the time she got the 3rd steak, the rest of us were done with our meals and the outside was too peppery (it was the night's special). My meal said it had scallops but they turned out to be tiny bay scallops. I will never go back to Sunset Cove.
We never got to eat there because they have valet parking which was totally full when we got there and the closest parking was far away all the way by the train station. It was really hot out and we were not going to walk that far. The valet should have taken the car and parked it there. The whole situation was ridiculous.
We were a party of 4 who thoroughly enjoyed outdoor seating on a beautiful summer night. Food is very good, but not the best we've had. That said, the prices are much for the quality and quantity. It was super busy, and the waitress stopped by only once, but water and clean up was timely all throughout.
Great location right at the water's edge, but very, very noisy. Server poured food all over one of our guests, and, although 2 of us are vegetarian, there was only one entree that we could have, so--no sharing tasty new dishes.
The food was awful and the white wine was so bad that we had to send it back. I am so sorry to have to write this review, but I must be honest.
Food was good service excellent views incredible
We were there in a beautiful July evening and sat by the dock. Lovely. The waiter was busy but attentive. Both my friend and I got the same dinner -? Pasta with sausage-?cant remember the name but it was good.
We sat talking afterward and did not feel rushed out. That’s always important to me.
Will definitely come again.
Great view, very good food. Prices were not unreasonable. My group was taking in a show at the Music hall and hoping to leave our car downtown and walk to the restaurant, but it was a bit too far to do that. There was plenty of parking and valet was offered.
Food was great and the view was even better! Would definitely recommend!
While we happen to love this spot, we were extremely disappointed to learn that the menu was mislabeled. We chose the restaurant based on the large number of items labeled gluten free. However, several items we inquired about are not actually gluten free because they go in the same fryer as gluten food. That said, you can’t beat the location, our food was good, and and server was kind.
Food was very good and especially enjoyed the sunset over the Hudson
It was overall a great experience
The weather was perfect so sitting outside was great! Service was great and the selection of food for brunch was amazing! Great price as well and we’ll definitely be back! Would recommend it!
Great price for brunch with unlimited champagne and mimosas. We sat outside on the Hudson! The view was phenomenal and the service outstanding.
We have been coming here for several years - I do see a decline in the quality of the food however - it's still very good - but not great as per the hot dishes served.
Would go again for sure notwithstanding what I felt about the food.
Our extended family of 10 met at the restaurant to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Due to weather delays we had to change the reservation. The restaurant staff was very accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We’ll definitely return.
I have been here many times with my girlfriend who is now my fiancé. I chose Sunset Cove as the spot to propose to her this weekend and we were provided a beautiful table by the water with a full view of the sunset and bridge. The ambience was perfect as the sun was going down and the moment was just what I was hoping for. The service was excellent, food delicious and the staff took pictures for us to help us celebrate the night. Even for a regular night this restaurant has always been consistently good.
Just ok. Service mediocre. Food ok. Very limited menu.
Like going to a Greek diner next to a river
