Have been a few times over the years. Consistent traditional Italian food in a quiet setting. Only real gripe is the lack of vegetarian main meal options, unusual that most of the pasta dishes include meat or fish. The last couple of times I've suffered with an undercooked penne with a few slices of mushroom and rocket. Poor!
Amazing main courses. We ordered the tagliatelli with mushrooms and the grilled calamari, they were outstanding but the desserts were not at the same level. Still they were very good! The staff is very nice and the restaurant is quiet.
Well located in central london near tube station for evening catch up with friends. Not to busy or loud making it a good venue. Child friendly too.
Crab spaghetti was divine!
An excellent restaurant which has been the mainstay of EC4 for many years, and deservedly so. The food is first class and the prices, especially the prix-fixe lunch, are very reasonable indeed. The service is very friendly and you can see from how full the restaurant is on a Thursday how well it is regarded. Thoroughly recommended, and can't wait to go back.
Friendly, traditional Italian restaurant in the City. The food was good, as was the service and the fixed-priced menu offered good value and ample choice. A solid choice for lunch with business colleagues or friends.
Absolutely amazing food! It was so great, we ordered our entree dish twice as the fried prawn was to die for. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed ourselves and we'll be back. Food was good and great value.
Recommended and lovely atmosphere . Potion size was just right . My colleague commented that food was very ‘clean ‘ and not stodgy .
Lovely lunch, great food. Looking forward to going back.
I have eaten here many times and always good!
Tenors were too close to each other and service but poor bit food was good
A very lively and buzzy place for lunchtime on a Monday. Food was excellent - Beetroot gnocchi was amazing.
I was disappointed when they tried to charge us main course prices for the pasta dishes when we didn't ask for the larger portions nor were we asked at the time of ordering. The bill was corrected but I didn't get a warm feeling from the waiting staff as we left. A shame as I would have loved to return there.
Food was reasonable. Service was poor - lackadaisical and inattentive. I had booked in advance and confirmed but there was no record of booking. Orders were not all completed correctly.
Not been here for 15 years and it is just as good now as it was then. Good atmosphere with Paulo the effusive head of house that gives this place a unique atmosphere. Great for business lunches and those with good friends.
Hard to find, but nice little hidden gem. Reasonably priced for really well prepared dishes. Good Italian wine list.
Perfect as always
Had a lunch here and decided to try it as a dinner venue. Overall very disappointed the staff were unfriendly, struggled at a basic language barrier level and failed to bring any drinks orders correctly or on time. They reached right across my guest's face to deliver drinks over the table instead of walking round. The calamari starter was rubbery. The mains were fine but the sides for them came out over 10 minutes later. On clearing the plates the waitress dripped sauce into my guest's lap. Shame as I had big hopes for this place but would not recommend.
Taberna Etrusca always provides delicious food but can be a bit quiet in the evening.
Nothing exceptional, quite average food despite great looking menu.
Excellent place for a proper Italian lunch. Great value 2 course menu, definitely recommend that
This place is very good, with a little bit of extra effort it could be brilliant!
Good lunch menu
A restaurant with a real table cloth in the city at an affordable price, nice food and perfect to have a good talk
A great place for an outdoor weekday lunch. Attentive service, delicious and authentic food and a courtyard that's shady but still outdoors.
Fine weather so sat outside in the courtyard. Excellent tuna steak.
This was my first visit to Taberna Etrusca and the restaurant was not overly busy as it was a weekday evening. I visited with a friend and our food was, in fact, delicious. It was my birthday and the restaurant helped us celebrate! Thank you. We had a lovely time.
If it's going to be Italian then this is the our default place to go! As always, love this restaurant and more importantly the food! My personal favourite on the enzo spag bol, an absolute winner! You can also have starter sizes for your mains, but be sure to tell the waiter/waitress head of your order. There is some really cute outdoor dining space too, you should put the request in early as in the simmer months it is usually booked, in fact it's always best to book ahead for seating as it's very popular for business lunches.
Taberna Etrusca is a tiny piece of Italy, uprooted and planted in the City of London. Delicious cucina casalinga, a good and not over-priced wine list and friendly service. It can be quite cramped but the jolly atmosphere amkes up for that.
Delicious, authentic Italian food and nice wine, and friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely go back!
This is not the first time that we as an office have all gone to this restaurant for a lunch. It is a smart casual restaurant that is equally able to handle a business lunch. It has a very homey feel - like you are in Tuscany in a family restaurant. The food has always been excellent and good value for money. Will be back again!
Even though this is only over the road from my office, first time here and went on strength of recommendations. Went for a social occasion and was happy enough - think I may use it more for business meals going forward. Assuming you have 2 courses and a lower-to-mid-range bottle of wine, this is easily a £100 - 140 meal for 2, inc. service charge. We had a £29 bottle (which I have to say was very good, an Italian blend I hadn't come across before), one pasta main and one meat main, starters at £10/11 and it came in at £100. So...do I think it's worth it? There is no doubt this is authentic Italian cooking and the osso bucco was a good "test" dish for that. Lobster ravioli very good, a bit light on portion size perhaps. The service was friendly enough though the multiple attempts to top up the wine glasses (when barely touched )was OTT. I would be happy enough to go back for the cooking, but think it's more expense-account territory for me personally. Will return on that basis!
The food was excellent. Everyone of us said we would definitely go back. The service was exemplary and the staff very helpful. There were dishes on the menu which we thought would not go well together but we were proved wrong. There was a great variety of choices too which you don’t often see in central London.
Definitely worth going to. Excellent authentic Italian restaurant.
I truly love this restaurant. Good food, good service at a very reasonable price.
I always go back when I want to a hassle free evening and don't have to worry for a second about the food, wine and service.
Fabulous food as usual particularly my personal favourite the veal Milanese!
This was a last minute booking for a get together of 7 friends and we chose this restaurant out of few options as we all liked Italian food. Unfortunately, when we got to the restaurant, it appeared that the only option for a group of more than five people was to have the Christmas menu, the fact that wasn't made clear we made our online reservation. This menu wasn't really Italian (turkey but no pasta), which we could have overlooked, but it also only gave an option of ordering 3 courses (and of course paying for 3 courses even if you only were hungry to eat one or two!). The manager was unhelpful, and just repeated that no other options were available to us. We stayed only because it was too much hassle to find another restaurant. As a result one person in the group didn't order anything at all, and some hardly touched deserts. Difficult to understand this inflexibility in a half empty restaurant for only 6 of us ordering (I would understand if it was a larger group), and forcing to order and pay for 3 courses is a rip off! Unbelievable the restaurant thinks it can get away with it. Food itself was ok-ish , definitely not coming back.
Lovely meal with friends - delicious authentic Italian food and good service in this quiet little restaurant, tucked away off Cheapside. Will return!
Always good food, service and wine
