The service was bad and the food came after one hour
The service was extremely slow. It took an hour for our mains to come out. When the main finally turned up after requesting for it twice it was not good. Totally disappointed this time with Tamara.
I had a booking for 7pm. However, I called in and moved it 8:15 as I knew I wouldn’t able to make it on time. I reached there on time for 8:15 and once I went there along with my boyfriend we were seated inside. However, we did want to do shisha so I asked the staff member if we could go out. The staff member said yes and we can eat dinner out too or come in to eat dinner. We enjoyed the shisha and we were asked to go all the away our to re-enter the restaurant. Now this is when the issue starts. We met the same staff member again, (who took us at our table). The staff told us that our booking was at 7pm, I said no I called in and removed it to 8:15 he was like now it’s 9:15, I was like yes, I was here. (And according to the lounge you have 2 hours, so technically we had 1 hr left) He was like yeah but “you guys went outside. You guys didn’t tell me”. I told him, I told your staff and he cut me off saying, “we can do this all day”. I think it’s very rude to speak to a customer like that. If the lounge has strict rules than he should inform the customers before sitting them in. Additionally, why would I even think of telling him. Secondly, if he really wanted us to tell him “everything” he should have stayed on the floor only and not moved”. He was no where to be seen. I felt like I was in school for a minute, as he expected us to tell him “everything”
Wouldn’t recommend the place.
Excellent food, which is main thing for us. Service was good but the lounge could be nicer.
Despite having reservation, had to wait 10 mins to be seated whilst 3 members of staff walked past looking depressed. Once finally seated and ordered, the poppadoms arrived quickly. Within 5 mins and mid-poppodom, our mains arrived. Our side plates where cleared and our poppodoms transferred to our main plates, despite our protests, and the mains were served whether we were ready or not! Food was nice, music was loud, service was shockingly poor.
I used to love Tamara Lounge and have been quite a few times. However, I was not satisfied with my recent booking. I had booked the table for 9 and it was a surprise party. The table wasn’t ready until about 9.20 due to the previous people still paying so I had to delay the surprise. Then It took 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive to the table, even after complaining. We didn’t have anybody ask us what we wanted food wise until about an hour in. Food finally arrived but some was cold so we sent it back. I have always loved the food and this is the main reason for our choice of venue but I was wholly unimpressed with this recent visit and I don’t think I will be coming back.
Great food, great place and friendly staff.
Going to Tamara lounge on a Friday after 8pm May get loud as the music tends to get louder with every hour passing and so makes it difficult to hear each other talk.
Go the quoted evening meals avoid Friday evenings. But if that is what you are after than this is your place
Very good evening out with work colleagues. Have been here before, and have always found the food to be on point, but service and noise has tended to be sketchy on when you go. We went on a Wednesday evening, and so no problem.
Food was very good, service was good... the ambience was good.
Waited very long for our meal.Cocktails were a let down. Overall not great
Will never go back!
Dishes were dirty and greasy. Asked for water, glasses were dirty. Asked for a cold apple juice, was really really warm. Ordered starters, waited half an hour to arrive, even though there were only 4 tables with people in the restaurant and when they did eventually arrive, they were cold! Had no mint sauce and was told it would take half an hour to take - i'm pretty sure mint sauce is simply yoghurt and mint sauce mixed together which should take barely 5 mins to make. Ordered mains, again took 45 mins to arrive. Service was poor - not professional and didnt seem experienced at all. Were confused when i asked for a apple juice even though was on menu.
Honestly, will never go back...worst restaurant experience ever!
We booked a table for 7, when we got there it was 7.10 but the table wasnt ready so we were directed to the bar to get a drink while we wait. Which meant we spent £12 on drinks which we would not have done if we were seated.
We ordered our food at 7.30, the food did not arrive until 8.15. The food dis not taste great. I have been during the day and the service and food was lovely.
Then at around 8.45 the music starts playing, it was so loud that having a conversation was hard. My friend who i took for the first time was not impressed
Been here many times; great food and service. If you don’t like loud restaurants don’t go on a Friday or Saturday, but other evenings seem fine.
Very disappointed with the poor service. Had to wait for an awfully long time to place an order and was kept waiting even longer to be served food.
Superb food never lets down
Only down thing I would say is we ordered a mojito and it can with no alcohol
Tamara lounge is always our 1st choice for all our occasions for me and my partner. However this time wasn’t as good as usual. I had to get up a couple of times to get the waiters attention. My partner has diabetes and his blood sugar was low but they took ages to bring our drinks and they missed food off our order. Luckily the food is unreal and tastes amazing. But the standard of service wasn’t the usual amazing service we’ve known.
Would love to recommend others but make sure keep the air condition level
Sweaty Smelly Stinky!! Wasted our time and effort to get there and back, we didn't even managed to stand a minute in the restaurant area as it was stinking as sweaty smelling armpits in there.
The service was absolutely appalling .
We waited for over 25 mins before flagging down a waiter to order drinks.
When we were placing our order for food the waitress who we had never met before asked us if she sounded ill!!! REALLY!!! Would we really want to be served be someone that was coming down with something?
Again it took absolutely ages to order another drink so in the end we left without eating a main course.
Great place and amazing food. Oswin, the Manager goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are looked after. Food is always fresh and yummy. Waiting staff can do with being a little more organised, having different waiting staff tend to you, just complicates things and makes leaving a tip a little difficult - where one waiter was great and another couldn't crack a smile. Overall, my fav place to eat, drink cocktails and enjoy some shisha.
Was a good evening however service was a let down though, we had to ask 3 times for something everytime whether it was water, condiments or cutlery. The naan and roti was over cooked on one occasion and the mishkaki was over done.
In brief good food, but extremely slow service and not attentive.
I’ve been here before but their service has gone really downhill. I booked a table for 5 and the table who came after us ended up getting their food first.
I don’t mind waiting for food but knowing that we only had two hours for the table it was frustrating because they were trying to rush us because someone had booked the table after us.
They asked if we could move to the bar and we said we had someone with us with a disability who couldn’t sit on the high chairs so they moved us to the sofas.
When we ordered dessert the manager took our order and came back to say his pen ran out so he had to ask us again what we wanted.
My order was wrong but I couldn’t be bothered to complain. Now, my sister was still eating and had her drink with her and he came over and just handed us the bill. We never asked for it and we never intended on leaving whilst still eating. When we brought this up to him he said that he had to take payment because people get up and leave without paying. (So he’s basically saying we’re going to do that with a disabled person with us). He also said that we are sitting in ‘vip’ where people spend over £500 to sit there. (This is literally a sofa with two small chairs on either side).
Everyone else that worked there was lovely but the manager or the person in charge on the night was really not attentive. He went to every single table to ask them how their meal was and avoided us.
Overall, the foods good but the management is poor, rude and they act as if it’s a prestigious place with a ‘smart casual’ dress code but it’s full of people wearing hoodies and trainers.
Everything was amazing... the service was slow but apart from thatno complaints
Good food but serve was a little slow. I think they were short staffed for a Thursday night. Once we got served the waiter and waitress were very good.
The service was extremely slow, we were just left on the table for ages. We had to call the waiter to come over for our drinks order, something for food... we ordered starter and main together. The mains weren’t brought for ages we had to ask again and the waiter said oh I have not asked them to prepare the food yet🙄
And no this didn’t happen because it was busy, we got there 6pm on a Tuesday. We were the only guests there for 30 mins or so before other guests started arriving.
Nice food and good service
It was a magical experience, we never visit this place before . Food was very nice and delicious, service was beyond our expectations.. we really had a good time . Hope to see you real soon
Hadn’t eaten here in a while but food was good as always, portion sizes are much better than Namaste Lounge as well. Only thing is our drinks (2 cokes) took a while to come but being busy as well we weren’t rushed so they could have the table back.
Shisha is always good too and great service as always
The food was amazing 10/10 the best Indian food ever!
Staff don’t know how to communicate with their customers, the service was so bad. We had to wait for our main meal for about 1.hr and 20 minutes we kept asking the staff why our oder it was taking so long and no one came back with a straight answer...they all kept disappearing. There was so much staff floating around but none of them were helpful to be honest.
Been here previouly received good service and food Saturday was beyond appalling.
Ordered snacks with drinks at 7pm not received until nearly 8.30pm and were disgusting to say the least. We were forced to rush and move to dinning area regardless of them delaying us.
Initially ignored in the dining area for the 9pm sitting.
Made to placed order at speed.
Continual requests for basics ie sauces with starters.
Mains and starters all served together to rush us through food was an insult to anyones taste buds. Ordered prawns which came covered in a thick sticky nasty sauce and still raw.
Think the greed from money out weighed quality service and class. What a shame as its not cheap either.
The place had a weird vibe. We were wondering with does a tiny overcrowded suburban pub why does it need four bouncers and it starting becoming apparent very soon. the food was great but service was slow. They had announced a Bollywood night as we were looking forward to a bit of dancing however the dance floor was just a bit of clear space next to dinner tables.
Overall a very shoddy experience. We (party of 4) planned to spend the entire evening there, between, restaurant, dance Lounge and dinner but left after dinner and went elsewhere.
Simply majestic food highly recommended a must visit chilli lamb and mogo was amazing
Overall a pleasant experience
On arrival the greeting was as expected and shown to our table. We then waited a while for some service. The choice of wine was good.
Loved the food, but then the waitress was over eager clearing the table while my wife was still dining. She then wanted to begin clearing the mains away, but I had to ask her to wait until we had finished.
Very nice as always, Friday night is quite busy so a bit of a wait but that was okay. Dj came on around 10.30 and was outstanding. Slightly expensive though but it’s ones choice to go there.
Overall great place. The food was lovely although their Chinese menu is not as nice as the Indian food. Great service, very attentive and fast. Absolutely fantastic cocktails and the shisha lounge is a good place for just chilling and you can also have food there as well.
Terrible Experience. Not what i remember this place to be. Waiting staff did not care about serving us. I had to wait 10 minutes to get someones attention to get a menu. Not to mention food was cold on arrival. Also got served starters without the sauces. Had to wait another 10 minutes to get the waiters attention to get the default sauces which normally are brought to the table before starters arrive with Indian cuisine. On top of that the waiter gives me attitude, when i am trying to get his attention.
Will not be going back there. Been to my fair share of Indian restaurants and by far this is the worse experience to date.
Terrible service , rude staff will never return . The food was fantastic. Such a shame the service was terrible
We had a lovely evening all round ,
but we feel some of the prices were a bit too high.
The time limit of 2 hours sitting in the dining area a little off putting and made to rush which did spoil the evening a little.
Everything we ordered tasted sweet and no taste, service was bit slow and it was soo loude that we were struggling to talk to each other
