Taste at Rustic
Perfect place for a birthday dinner, the only thing is that our waitress was busy and brought the plate and candle long after serving desserts...
Best sushi in Ireland we've ever tasted. What a treat and great experience!
Wow what a fantastic meal! We went there on Saturday night, 6 of us, our booking was late 9.15 so
Amazing experience. Food was very high standard if you really understand and feel. JAPANESE food. Also, with a personal influence of The Chef. Scallops were absolutely amazing, roasted garlic added to them. Additional notes that ate otherwise you would never be able to achieve.
Main courses are excuisite and made to perfection. Even non waguy beef was tender as jelly.
Cocktails are very nice as well. Reminded me of Cut by Wolfgang Puck in.Singapore or Hong Kong St no 50 there.
Expect to spend around 150-200 euro for decent courses for 2. More if you getting waguy.
Buba provided really great service which left a deep impression on us. Though fish species in Ireland are not that many but Chef Konmatsu did a good job for making 12pieces of delicious sushi platter. Strongly recommend. Best place for authentic Japanese cuisine in Dublin.
Menu was a little small but the food we got was very good quality.
Beautiful meal on a busy Saturday night (Valentine's weekend), service was good and ambience nice. Personally I would have liked to see a bit more options on the menu. Other than that good meal :)
Really loved this place! Gourmet style Asian food that became the highlight of our Dublin weekend, i.a. some of the best sushi we have ever eaten served by a very friendly sushi Chef from Tokyo. Impeccable service from both waiter and sommelier, perfect ambience and a very nicely designed interior.
Visiting Dublin? Put Taste at Rustic at the top of your Dinner list, we would :)
Delighted with our evening out at Rustic - can't wait to go back!
Thank you all at Rustic
It was a really enjoyable experience. Fantastic food and atmosphere. The staff we brilliant and the manager was extremely attentive. We were seated on the 'counter' seating which was actually very pleasant and wonderful to see the chefs in action. Not overly large selection of vegetarian dishes but the ones they do have were delicious. The desserts were the highlight! Will definitely be going again.
Service was poor, we were unable to get the attention of staff throughout our night
Over-priced for the standard of the food. It was nice but nothing out of the ordinary, which is what you'd expect at these prices.
Good fun watching my friend struggle to eat her dinner with chopsticks. Great staff and food, a little pricey.
Food was fab we had an early table so was very quiet. Place a little cold but it was a very cold evening.
Would definitely return
Food was excellent. The air could be less smokey and fresher
I have eaten here on two occasions once at the counter and once in a corner. The staff have been lovely, attentive and helpful with the menu. The main maitre d has a presence which I like, and a good sense of humor. However I find the seating tight.
I last dined at Taste on Thursday 17th January and unfortunately our order was not taken correctly, which was fine in the end as we had plenty of food, but at the same time, not great.
However, our bigger problem was your smoke alarm system went off above our heads! and kept going on and off until we could no longer listen to it, and left. The windows were also opened to dispel the smoke which made for a very loud and cold experience. Your staff apologized repeatedly, but I would have loved to have stayed on and enjoyed a coffee and desert and conversation.
I guess these things happen.
Everything was perfect, escept that we stay for 3 days in Dublin and came to the restaurant recommended to taste the sushi but the chef was on a training in Japan. So most of the menu was not available. For a restaurant like this, They should prevent this situation and delegate those menu option to the chef's team in his absence.
Great restaurant with delicious Japanese food, one of our favourites in the city!
The nigiri sushi is delicious although expensive, but otherwise the food does not come close to its marketing hype. Some of the cocktails are very odd tasting mixtures and the sticky pork main course we had was very fatty.
We had an amazing meal at Taste. Service was fantastic and they really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
Really surprised by how good this place was, service was great even though they were really busy, food was on the pricey side but worth it for the experience, I got a whiskey sour which was grand, bit bland but still good. The food is really good, everything was well cooked, well presented and the service was excellent. I'd really recommend - definitely walk upstairs from the Rustic Stone, a million times better.
Fantastic atmosphere and food..Service was great as well. We really enjoyed our evening at taste. Highly recommended
Over priced when you realise that each item is charged by unit. Service was very slow even though not busy. Wine was continuously poured which is annoying. Main courses were very good. Starters disappointing. Was there 3 or 4 times before and was much better. Menu changed and now over priced
My husband and I enjoy diverse cuisine in particular Japanese. It was an excellent experience, delicious food. We sat at the food bar and had a birds eye view of everything being cooked. Loved it!
Absolutely outstanding food! First time there for all 3 of us but will most definitely return.
Great food & great service. Will definitely be back!
We had a pre dinner drink in the Bonsai bar ,the service and cocktails were excellent here. Our meal in the restaurant was truly delicious, we really enjoyed the food. The eel nigiri was the best I have tasted in Dublin.Service was professional and very good overall however our waitress although efficient was extremely pushy and was upselling at every opportunity to the point of it being tiresome. We found ourselves needing to be assertive in order to choose what we wanted to eat .
Sorry but lacking atmosphere, slightly over priced , service slow .. not really the experience that we had been expecting
Possibly the best sushi I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of it. Each maki was a work of art. We sat at the counter and watched them being made, and the care and attention to detail was something to behold. Sushi is served without additional soy or wasabi (unless you ask for it) because each piece is already perfectly seasoned. Staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
Possibly one of the best food experiences I have shared with my wife. The sharing menu was delightful and something I would recommend to anyone
Beautiful decor and ambience in Taste. The sushi is simple but delicious. Loved the lamb dish and tempura also. Nice margaritas and a great wine selection. The staff were very friendly, attentive but not annoyingly so. Will be back for sure.
Not a great experience all round, the staff we encountered were very nice but the food is not good. Chicken tempura was just awful, the sushi was tasteless...and the mains just a piece of meat...oh I was offered an eggcup full of kimchee cabbage to go with mine (eye roll) with ONE alcoholic drink bill came to €130. A total joke. Would never dine here again. We both woke up the next morning with pounding headaches so i can only assume massive levels of salt in all the food and yet still no flavour. There are much much better Japanese restaurants in Dublin.
We had been saving this restaurant for a special occasion and it did not disappoint - Service was impeccable, confident but thorough - and the food was so creative and perfectly executed - the tasting menu was recommended to us and I would have it again without question, choosing all the other alternative to what I had this time just so I can experience more. It is not cheap but what you are getting is not standard. I am very much looking forward to going back again.
This pick in Dublin was for a special birthday and gathering of friends, and we were not disappointed!
If you have a chance and don’t mind spending for quality... you won’t be disappointed. Trendy with out being pretentious. Beautiful 3 story venue... Dining upstairs is a must for all foodies. I really didn’t regret paying the tab at the end of this true dining experience!
I will be back again, even all the way from Portland, Oregon.
This is a beautiful restaurant. The food was delicious and overall I would recommend. The presentation and flavours were 10/10. It's slightly pricey but as we were there for a special occasion it didn't matter.
I don't even know what to say other than I'd fly to Dublin, Ireland just to eat here again!!
The Rustic Stone Restaurant is the absolute
R E A L D E A L ! ! !
Great sushi, but the entrees were unimpressive. I've had better shabu-style hot pots for less than half the price.
Goood interesting food - drinks are expensive
Bar was quite noisy
Tasting menu with wine pairing, this is an expensive option but it was outstanding.
This menu is restrictive and extremely expensive. €5 for one piece of nigiri that is one bite? The Dexter beef was tough (at €38 for 5 small slices) and the peppered chocolate dessert was so highly peppered as to be cough inducing.
There are lots of good restaurants in Dublin offering good food for value for money. This is unfortunately not one of them. It started a few years ago as an interesting experiment. It has now moved into the realm of an unpleasantly ecletic dining experiene at a price that makes your eyes water.
