Waiting was slowing bring my wife her wine. Brought appetizers before she received her wine.😯
Visited the Upscale part of the restaurant with two kids. There’s a child’s menu which was nice selection but typicalSo that I could make it home. Pesto gnocchi was good and fresh but basic. Caesar salad and mushroom bisque was also nothing out of the ordinary, just basic recipes. Bread rolls were the most unusual and delicious part of the meal. I would go again but don’t expect anything to make you wow.
The atmosphere was nice and the food was really good. I highly recommend the fig sidecar, the tapas and the octopus. Our server was very friendly and informative. While everything was great, I would say service seemed a bit understaffed and the prices were a little expensive.
Everything was wonderful. Went for our anniversary. Service was excellent.
Outstanding drinks and meal. Locally sourced, inventive flavors. Very fresh. Great service.
My husband and I had a wonderful time having a dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
I am convinced that Terrapin is, indeed, the best restaurant in the Hudson Valley. It's been winning those awards, but I thought there was competition. Not anymore. It's head and shoulders above the rest.
The meal was delicious. The service was truly outstanding! They made it an extra special night.
Standard fare. Overpriced.
We found the service at the restaurant to be good, but the food didn't meet our expectations. The octopus appetizer sauce tasted like bbq and the accompanying potatoes were bland and abundant. The meatballs with the kids pasta were bad - dry and gritty with poor flavor. The sauce for fish was overly sweet. The rolls were very nice and hanger steak was perfectly done. Water service was fantastic.
There really needs to be sunshades over the windows on the Montgomery side. Too much sunlight blinds and then we have to move around and hold hands over our eyes. Service was great. Food was good.
Beautiful old church ambience
The whole meal was perfect from start to finish. The waitstaff was charming and wonderful to interact with, catered to our every need. The food was delicious. I had the baby arugula salad to start and my boyfriend had the mushroom soup. The main entrée of double thick pork chop for me and pork medallions were just delicious and the spinach cooked perfectly. Dessert of Crème Brulee for me and Warm Blueberry cake for him rounded out the evening. It was his birthday and I wanted it to be special. we were not disappointed. Thank you so much!
Terrapin has been one of my and my wife's favorite Hudson Valley restaurants for years now. One of the first to go all-in on farm to table food, the restaurant is a lovely setting, in beautiful Rhinebeck, with consistently excellent food, wine, drinks and desserts. This last visit was possibly the best tiramisu I have ever had, and the cocktails are always excellent and inventive. One minor issue- too warm inside, albeit on the hottest weekend in years. Curtains or window-sized blinds of some kind in the Western windows would greatly help there. Otherwise, even a vegetarian like my wife can find entrees that are not just steamed veggies or more pasta. One of the best in the HV!
It was quite warm in the restaurant. AC could have been better. Cost of meals was on the high end.
Food was delicious.
What a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, and helped us pick out a delicious wine. The food was terrific. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Is consistently delicious and you can spend a lot or spend a little and still get delicious food. The artichoke dip appetizer is to die for.
I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. I don't know what's better, the food or the staff :-)
Absolutely fantastic! Locally sourced meat was very flavorful and tender.
Room temp was a bit warm, almost uncomfortable. Persistent Fly kept annoying us. Only one unisex bathroom. Bad sewer smell in parking lot. Food was very good.
Food is phenomenal and the staff is amazing. Highly recommend Terrapin.
Good. Very loud. Crowded but it was sat. Food was good but nothing special
Great spot. Wonderful food and staff. Loud but fun.
I have been to Terrapin many times and have had wonderful meals, but not on Friday night. Our table wasn’t ready although we had reservations. We waited over 15 minutes before a table was ready for us. It was so hot in the restaurant it was hard to enjoy the meal. Maybe the air conditioning was broken. The food took forever to be served and we were never asked if anyone wanted another drink or if everything was ok. The place was hot. The staff was off. Just not a good dining experience.
Great food and ambiance. I made a reservation for a table for two and were greeted and seated promptly upon arrival. We found our server to be attentive and pleasant. The menu selections offered a nice variety of salads and entrees.
Always a good experience. Only issue was sitting in d/r when sun was setting & no shades.
Wonderful time. Drinks ,food and dessert all excellent. Do not pass on the Salted Caramel Tiramisu!
Amazing and delicious as always with impeccable service!!!
I try to get to the Rhinebeck crafts fair when possible and then have dinner at Terrapin. Terrapin never disappoints. Great service and food with reasonable prices.
Loved it but disappointed w service . Asked about wines and got “I don’t know...” for an answer and NO offer to taste wine . That was SO rude. Salad was not properly chopped and piled high w stems on greens. An utter disappointment .
Birthday occasion. Great food and service. Parking limited.
It was an incredible evening out for our Anniversary dinner!. The service was great!.
We arrived 20 minutes early and they were able to seat us right away. However, noise level in main dining area was louder than we like. We were accommodated with outdoor seating, which was very nice. Service was very good and our meals were excellent. Will definitely return.
We were very excited to try this restaurant for my husbands birthday! The food was delicious- we started with the cheese plate. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the pork chop. The food was amazing ! The service was very disappointing ! It took a while just to get water. We never saw our waiter - to be fair I think he had too many tables.
The poor service put a damper on our experience. We wanted dessert and we got dessert menus but we never saw our waiter again. We asked the hostess for our check and we closed out our bill with her. The food was great but I would not recommend this restaurant if you are celebrating a special occasion.
Menu looked promising. Tapas dishes did not live up to the expected taste. Braised Meat looked more like Boiled meat but was very tender.
Owner/Chef Josh has created a winner with his creative and well prepared menus as well as his superb wine list. Terrapin is deserving of its award three times as Best Bistro in the Hudson Valley.
Beautiful character in a former church. Modernized, but kept some elements of the original. Noise level was high. Service was very good. Staff covered for and helped each other seamlessly. Had 2 sizes for wine by the glass and many half bottles available. Arugula salad with fried goat cheese wontons was delicious but too big. Reduce the size and the price! Mushroom strudel entree again very good, but too big. Husband had tapas; blistered shishito peppers and duck taco and loved both. Entree was black cod. Good, but not great. The best thing all night was the creme brulee, which came in a tapas sized portion and was very creamy. The best i ever had and I've had many. My fav.
Terrapin was absolutely outstanding in all ways. The menu was creative and the food was a divine. Even the presentation was amazing. Pair this with outstanding service, a most helpful server, an attractive interior, and Terrapin is elevated into a class by itself.
Excellent, as always. An hour and a half trip for us, but well worth it. (Sorry you moved from Shokan. You do, however, have much nicer digs on the other side of the Hudson.)
Fantastic food & drinks! Great atomosphere! Our server, Pat, was the best. Whenever asked about certain items, he gave us the best ides! Will certainly be back
