Terroirs has been serving true food and pouring natural wine since 2008. A London institution and industry favourite, it's still a must visit place for foodies where you can rub shoulders with international winemakers.

Terroirs is split between two levels. The street-level restaurant has some outdoor seating and a large bar that can seat up to 14 people, with a great view of the open kitchen.

The Cellar downstairs has very high ceilings and original brick walls, with an additional kitchen and bar area which hosts our regular wine tastings, visiting winemaker dinners, magnum parties and cellar cinema screenings.

This unique space is also available for private hire.

Sublime French tapas flavours. Impeccable speedy service even when they are under pressure. Generous portions of often very rich foods. Great breads Just wish there was more wine at the lower end of the price range...

I first used Terroirs for quick, tasty business lunches with a glass of wine and admired their great selection of regional French wines. More recently since my retirement my wife and I have enjoyed delicious lunches, particularly the vegetable based starters and small dishes. The carafe wine selection is very good for London’s West End and they have addd intriguing Coravin selections.

Service is amazing, everyone is so nice, smiling, accomodating, and can comment on every wine they have on the menu! Food is really good, wine selection great. Only small flaw is the noise, there is no music (we couldn't hear it anyway) but the voices are so loud .... there were moments I could not hear what my friend was saying . Not sure what the restaurant can do against people yielling with no consideration for other though!

The food was delicious as per usual but when we turned up, it took us 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine yet when we ordered the food it took less than five minutes to turn up, and there was no wine to pair it with. I also didn't have a plate and had to ask several times to be provided with one.

This is an excellent little restaurant. Great selection of wine (most are pretty pricey though) and the food is good French cuisine. Service was lovely and they accommodated us being early and then being very slow to order. I've said that the sound was loud as we had a couple of very loud tables next to us. It is a small space and so had a big impact - obviously the restaurant can't do anything about loud guests but maybe the acoustics could be made better. Would recommend and will go again.

It’s a lovely spot but the service was rushed and we did not feel very welcome. It was towards the end of the evening so we thought the staff just wanted to go home.

Really good value food, which is quite unusual for cheese and charcuterie in London.
Ordered once, and were never checked on to see if we wanted more food and / or drinks so paid up and left which was a bit of a shame...

What a fantastic range of small dishes! Every single one was a delight and executed to perfection. Highlights were the anchovies on sourdough, burrata and the raw beef dishes. Great service and excellent wine recommendations. Can't wait to come back here for more.

Terroirs continues to be in prime condition after all these years. Food is always reliably well sourced and varies between old faves (i.e. the charcuterie) and new-ish (i.e. deep fried artichokes). Wine list a delight..as is the service and the general friendly ambiance never fails to charm.

We love it here. The waiting staff were attentive and even moved us to a larger table when it came free. The selection of wines is superb and the atmosphere is always calm - a great place for a catch up with friends (or a date!). Thanks Terroirs.

Service and starters were the bright spots, but the main course was a let down. Ligurian Bull’s Heart Tomatoes, Duck Rillettes and Pork & Pistachio Terrine were all fantastic and might have been enough on their own with a couple of glasses to wash it down. However, we ordered a main each as well, which took a shine off an otherwise nice experience. The rabbit was particularly dire - a dried out hip knuckle and tiny forearm. Nevertheless, a good wine list, prompt service and lively atmosphere await.

Everything was just excellent. We had some charcuterie, the lamb and the rabbit and cherry tart. The wine was fantastic and the service impeccable. This isn’t the cheapest restaurant around but worth every penny! Will be returning soon!

Ideal place for lunch near The Strand/Charing Cross. Very fresh starter of courgette and curry/pistachio. Mains of freshly grille plaice and rump of lamb. Very fresh organic white wine from Sicily. Overall very enjoyable.

The menu said something like "Anchovies, butter, sourdough toast" - in the starter/small plate section, price £32. £32 for some anchovies? As a starter? I mean, even given the weak pound and London prices, that felt excessive. Surely a misprint (given the other starter prices were all £8, £7 etc), we asked our waitress. But no, not a misprint. Just very special, hand caught, hand selected anchovies from Spain, they had probably been to private school as well, who knows. My dinner companions thought I was mad. And perhaps I am, but I like outlandish propositions. I ordered the £32 anchovies. They came. Still in their tin. Yes, THOSE kind of anchovies, swimming in oil. With just some bread and butter. And do you know what? They were SENSATIONALLY delicious. Hugely extravagant but one of the most satisfying £32 I have ever spent, and yes, the best anchovies I have ever tasted. So there.

We really enjoyed our meal at Terroirs. It has a casual and stylish atmosphere with interesting decor. The food was very tasty although not so different and creative. Duck rillettes and the jerusalem artichokes were our favourite dishes. The wine choice is excellent. Service was friendly and attentive, and we felt really welcomed and valued. We would definitely go again!

I find the best thing is to treat Terroirs menu like tapas and share small plates. Everything we had (Terrine, Aubergine thing, salad, Smoked eel, cheese) was tip-top, but the revelation was the fillet of smoked eel balancing on a hollowed-out baked potato, done crisply, and covered with tagliatelle-strips of celeriac in a slightly tangy sauce. Unusual and ABSOLUTELY delicious.

We come to terroirs a lot and love it. However I think we were just unfortunate on this occasion as it was a very hot evening and the air conditioning wasn’t working which didn’t help. The staff seemed less attentive and one staff member had extremely bad body odour which was very off putting. The clientele that evening also comprised a disproportionately high number of shouty middle aged men which ive not experienced as representative of the general customer base. All in all this meant that we hurried our food to leave prematurely as normally we’d stay and graze and enjoy the wines and all the lovely variety of food on offer. Hoping it was just a bad night and not indicative of a shift in ethos or service.

Returning to Terroirs is always a treat for me. Menu a mix of classic favourites (i.e. duck rilettes) and inventive new dishes (fried artichokes a standout) plus dishes that feel like classics already...despite my heartbreak at losing the last portion of braised rabbit to another table, once again myself two other Terroirs stalwarts had a fine time...must not forget the great wine list, charming service and the general atmosphere..which never palls. Bravo to the max.

Excellent choice of wine and well thought dishes.
Service was really good as well in a lovely atmosphere. There’s no air conditioning, so on a day like Friday we kind of missed it even if all the windows were open. Other than that, it has been a very good experience, so much that today we’ll try the sister Terroirs restaurant in Dulwich

Overall, an enjoyable dining experience. The food was excellent and authentic. The wine was pretty expensive for being a wine supplier based restaurant but some good bargains can be found just not as much as I would have liked to see. Service from the waitress and host were very welcoming and respectful but the bar staff had a bit of arrogance in conversation with us at times that dampened the evening a little...countering back to my colleague “I heard you the first time” when he enquired about food.
