Terroirs is split between two levels. The street-level restaurant has some outdoor seating and a large bar that can seat up to 14 people, with a great view of the open kitchen.
The Cellar downstairs has very high ceilings and original brick walls, with an additional kitchen and bar area which hosts our regular wine tastings, visiting winemaker dinners, magnum parties and cellar cinema screenings.
This unique space is also available for private hire.
Close to the Harp. What’s not to like. A convenient spot near Charing Cross
Terroirs was having an off day. We went early and were not made to feel welcome. Our waiter was good & consideraré but the manager was noticeably brusque & rude with his team and customers including us. Not acceptable.
Love the food, the wine, the staff - Amazing as always, thank you x
Outstanding and extensive wine list. The food menu is small but changes regularly and the food is excellent
Small place, awesome food but can be a bit noisy at peak hours.
Amazing wine selection and very well balanced food offer. MUST go!
I love this place. The staff are always lovable , friendly and knowledgable. And the food is reliably excellent. My friends all claim that the natural wine includes some hangover insurance - may be. Or perhaps it’s just so good we took our time and drank less. I guess we’ll have to go back and find out.
My first time in a while and better than I remembered. Freshness & generous portion sizes!
Met with my sister and brother in law on a rare sojourn to London before going to the Sorolla exhibition at the National Gallery. Location great for both the exhibition and our hotel. We all enjoyed our meals hugely and would thoroughly recommend Just one small gripe My sister and hubby arrived ten minutes early and even though we had a booking and it was pelting with rain they had to wait outside but we got over it and a nice time anyway Cheese board was fab.
Would highly recommend this wine bar. Appetizers, wine, and service was stellar. I will be going back when I’m in London again.
I just love this place - staff, atmosphere, wine incredible! (I only didn't mention food this time, as we didn't eat - but the food is always amazing too :-))
I love this place but the enticing lunch menu (£12+ glass of ceillo bianco) has always run out by the time we arrive at precisely 1pm - no matter how full it is, or not, and difficult to come much earlier if working - and then the choice is tapas/cicchetti-like starters at £10 minimum-and one is not quite enough-or a main course for at least twice as much - bit of a trick!
Delicious meal with excellent service and good wine.
Disappointing. Have eaten here five or six times in the last year and it had been consistently outstanding. On this occasion three of the six dishes were poor and the serving staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers.
Good wine list, unfortunately teased by a bottle they didn't have. Food menu didn't do it for me, but is great if you just want to go for some wine & meats/cheeses. Loved the decor with all the wine posters and bottles. Good spot
Thanks for a great meal. We just came in for a quick pre theatre dinner, thanks for your fast service. It was a little gloomy at the back of the restaurant but we had a lovely time regardless. Good food.
Exceptional cooking, beautifully presented food with superb flavours. Best meal I’ve had in a while - faultless.
Excellent..good food, nice wine, lively, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable value. What’s not to like!
Nice wine and food. Not cheap though. Good location.
Quite noisy on a Saturday afternoon/evening- Middle of tourist land as well so the ambiance was felt to be a bit of get in and get out, not somewhere that you spend a romantic evening. Good service though from the waiter, has good knowledge about the wine and could recommend good wines.
Good to be back at Terroirs; great selection of wines; knowledgeable staff; good atmosphere & food
We arrived a little early and were well settled in a discreet table, which suited us ideally as it was a "catching up" session with an old friend unseen for some years, but had the disadvantage that we were a little removed from early pre-lunch drinks service. When it finally arrived however we found it ideal, attentive but not obtrusive.
As regards food my only regret was that I did not have a better prior understanding of the organisation of the menu; the amuse-bouches were excellent (but ordered a bit late) and my main course of Duck was beautifully cooked with an interesting vegetable accompaniment and generous in size. The wine list is fascinating, although expensive, and we (including one non-drinker ) were well pleased with a carafe of house red.
All in all a most enjoyable experience and reasonable at £40/head
Food and service excellent. The restaurant is a bit cramped for space and a bit noisy. The wine was very good, but expensive. I think the quality was probably worth the price but it would have been nice to have a bottle of champagne on offer at less than £100.
I would have given it the rightmost rating except for it being labelled 'Outstanding' - it was as good as I wanted it to be - really very good, excellent even, and I cannot think of any improvements but 'outstanding' is not a word I would use.
The menu is rather limited as always, but the selections are always excellent. On this visit (of many) the main plats were the best yet. The wine list is extensive, interesting, and moderately priced. We were already fans, but now even more so.
Great spot in London for great food and wine. Staff are awesome as well
Good, tasty food. Great value
Excellent waitress, very attentive. Excellent food !
Service was very hit and miss. Trying to get someone to take an order, ask for the bill became a chore. Food was good but nothing special.
Two bottles of wine on the bill when we only had one.
After we left our clothes smelt of grease/fat.
Great little restaurant , really good intersting food, well worth a visit
Very friendly and efficient staff. Let us sit at any free table we liked. I’ve been to Terroirs plenty of times and wanted to bring my date here because I was sure she’d appreciate the wine and the food.
The sommelier visited our table and we explained our food choices and he provided for excellent options (at various price points - not always an issue but can be annoying when you are only recommended bottles over a hundred pounds). I have a reasonable knowledge of wine myself and was able to choose from these.
We started by sharing the charcuterie board which was delicious. Followed by the Halibut, Kohlrabi and mussels and the duck and potato-tarte. Both dishes were amazing as were the creme caramel and the chocolate ganache crumble which followed.
We stayed a fair while after drinking wine and were not made to feel like they wanted the table back.
Another excellent experience at Terroirs. I’ll definitely be back. Hopefully with the same date.
The artichoke dish is divine! Lovely small plates to order, wasn't too sure about the house white wine but that could have been a personal taste thing! Quick and attentative bite to eat prior to a Happiness lecture - hapiness came before the talk here!
Delicious food- great smoked eel starter and the fish perfectly cooked. Very friendly service, good awareness of gluten free requirements.
Lovely place - lovely food and service. Limited choice but really good ingredients used well in a few dishes very welcome!
Only experienced lunchtimes so far but love the place.
We went to the Terroirs before the Opera at the Coliseum. Unfortunately the kitchen opened only at 5:30 but the Opera started at 6:30, we decided to go for some bread and a selection of Charcuterie and Cheese. The quality of the cheeses and the charcuterie was extremely good. We needed to ask about another basket of bread, rather than that it would be brought automatically. Likewise, Butter was only brought when we asked for it. That is the reason for a deduction in the quality of service. But the glass of wine I had was very good (Grüner Veltliner), right temperature and quite unusual. Thus I was quite satisfied with the quality of the food and drinks. The bill came out quite significant for the amount of food that was served. However, the quality was extremely convincing (my favorite was the Pork & Pistachio Terrine and the Cantal Entre Deux). Go and try it out.
A lovely bistro that transports you to Paris! Wonderful home cooked food and a great wine list!
Great place for sharing food; waiters were all friendly, nice and helpful, but also very busy! The standard of the food was great, especially the Jerusalem artichokes which were amazing. It is loud and echoey when busy, so if you struggle with hearing you may need to avoid a Friday night!
Good food and at a reasonable price, wines very good but on the expensive side, only negative was the noise, very difficult to have a conversation without feeling you had to shout.
Fantastic as always. A great place to spend time in Covent Garden
Absolutely marvellous wines and food. Lovely people too.
