Thai Square Covent Garden
Thai Square never disappoints!
Although it looked like they were running a reduced menu (from what we recall it) but as we went to the Covent Garden branch that can be understandable, as the West End was - very sadly - pretty quiet, despite going on a day when the 'Eat Out to Help Out' was on.
The food is very poor here. I went to a different branch and the food was completely different, a lot nicer. Don’t waste your time at this branch. Staff are rude and the food isn’t up to a high standard at all.
Great, friendly service. Delicious, food that tasted so fresh and generous portions. My only negative is that there isn't much ambience - decor and muzak playing felt tired and old fashioned. But I can't fault the food and service and will return....
The restaurant took the booking over OpenTable but would not serve us when we arrived.
Food was excellent
This is the 1st time Ive been to this particular branch, I normally go to the Trafalgar branch. The menu isnt the same as the Trafalgar branch however it is still very good.
Only issue was the long gap between our starter and mains.

Very good! Good ambiance and lovely food! Very enjoyable
Food was good , service was CRAP. We've ordered before many people but good came very very very late and staff were not helpful.
Very nice food and service. Lovely interior and noise wasn’t too bad as we could enjoy a pleasant conversation

Very good service from beginning to end. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Excelllent food- staff made us very welcome
On arrival the restaurant was closed for renovations with zero notification. Disappointing.
Good food, not super cheap but not super expensive either. We were there alongside quite a rowdy xmas party which isn't ideal but not their fault!
It’s hard sometimes to be impressed with a place but this is the best Thai I’ve had in London after two years. Red curry was fantastic and pad Thai was delicious. Go for the coconut rice. Enjoy!
We very much enjoyed our pre-dinner meal at Thai Square. The portions were excellent and very tasty. Can't recommend the duck dishes enough-very large and really good. Very reasonable in price. Service was attentive.
Despite an early sitting with few diners, staff whilst pleasant were inattentive. It took almost 40 mins to order and receive drinks. Crispy duck and pancakes for 2 at £16 appeared generous on the plate until we discovered a thin layer of meat on top of a dome of lettuce. Main courses were fine and enjoyed by all. It took three attempts to get the bill.
They took too long to attend to us and take our food order. Poor customer service.
The space was quiet which was nice coming in off the busy street, but it was surprisingly empty given that it was the middle of the day on a Saturday. The staff were kind and attentive - no complaints there. The food, however, was really not good. Those who ordered pad thai said it was bland. I would have been grateful for bland. I ordered Yum Nua and it was almost inedible. The chargrilled beef had 'grill marks' but was more like slices of boiled meat. These were served on watery vegetables. Really unappetizing.
Lovely people serving us wonderful food. Helped us choose different dishes which were excellent. Very friendly staff
A very nice meal with friendly staff and good service in nice surroundings. I'm looking forward to coming back here sometime in the future...
Food was amazing, service excellent too.
Time duration for food serving is long (over 30mins), and the tomyum soup is really disappointed as it is super salty and sour, i can say it's not even a 'pass'. The mains are fair but the overall experience will not lead to my second visit.
Food was excellent. Greeting at the door was slightly impolite. Appreciate they were busy but we had made a booking 5 minutes before on open table. They said they were too busy to take the booking but eventually agreed to give us a table! (After swearing)
We booked for 5.30 for s pre theatre meal. We were the first into the restaurant - there were 2 step ladders up in ten restaurant and we were told we could only sit near the front of the restaurant even tho 10 minutes later other people walked in and they sat where they wanted to.
We waited a long time for drinks and even longer for the waiter to take our order. The food was tasty however when the bill came we thought it was expensive don’t know honk we will return especially to that one.
I feel it should be told that the measures here are wrong for some drinks and therefore over priced.
I was charged £5 for a 25ml measure of Baileys. That should be the price and measure size of whisky.
Baileys is the same class as port or a liqueur and should be in a 50ml measure.
At £5 a 25ml measure they make £200 out of a £15 bottle.
Beware when you order.
Otherwise the food was good and nice place, so a shame about the measures.
Staff were miserable and restaurant had no atmosphere. Food was ok but nothing more.
Very big portion and excellent service.
Food was tasty, two of us ordered a vegetable jungle curry (super spicy!) and a massaman lamb curry which was also nice. Unfortunately the food was slow to arrive, we waited 35 minutes for main and it felt very long as we didn't order starters. One waitress apologised for the delay because they had an unusually big party to cater for. Another waitress dismissed her apology saying that food normally takes about 25 minutes to be served anyway. At 6.30pm the atmosphere was nice and quiet.
Service was inattentive and slow. Staff just standing chatting. We had to go and find someone to ask for the bill.
Food was a bit hit and miss but the service was terrible.
I have been here before a couple of times & usually the food and service is good.
However, I turned up for a lunch booking and they had clearly overbooked. They tried to say I didn’t have a booking (which I did) and that they had cancelled it (which they hadn’t). The staff left us waiting a long time without even acknowledging us & did not even apologise for cancelling my booking whilst I was actually there!
We were rudely told that they couldn’t seat us & without any explanation or apology. This has put me off going back & was a real shame after I had planned a family meal there.
Good value for money. Nice experience but not a cozy place
I don’t normally leave reviews unless something is outstandingly good or shockingly poor. Well, this was certainly the latter. This wasn’t my choice of venue and I didn’t expect much. However, the welcome was rude with barely a word spoken and then I remained seated for nearly 30mins without being asked if I required anything. I’m their defence I was awaiting my companion but that doesn’t mean I don’t require a drink while I wait. When the service did resume it was surly and dysfunctional. I don’t expect much from a Chain restaurant but have they really become so poor? Unfortunately, this one has!
The food was great
Booked Thai Square as it was conveniently close to the Palace Theatre for a meal between the two parts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Pleasantly surprised to find they had a 3 course pre-theatre menu which we enjoyed. Mixed starter platter, then a scallops and king prawn main (could have done with a couple more of each) and a decent-sized portion of duck plus steamed rice. Small icecream to follow. And we had a Thai rose wine with it. All very nice and just what we needed without feeling so full that we risked dozing off!
pre theatre dinner, great location, service and food
Great food -- unfriendly, incompetent service!
I think it’s good for all sort of occasions, I went with my family and there was a group or friends and other couples
The set menus were good, the portions were of a good size as well. Good ambience. Drinks a big expensive for what you got.
Wonderful, wouls come back to different branch.
