Thai Square Putney
Big thumbs up, lovely restaurant with bar downstairs and the staff were wonderful! Really well made hand-crafted cocktails, very exotic and tasty :)
Sadly we did not have the best view of the river but this is not the restaurant's fault as there was construction which is beyond their control.
Overall a great evening, thank you Thai Square!
The food is average and for what it is ... vastly overpriced.
The sharing plater was mediocre.
One of the worst Thai food I actually experienced.
Location is great tho! Which was the reason I used to go there.
No view as there are porta cabins now outside.
Food came suspiciously quickly and was all luke warm and deep fried.
We ordered 2 drinks before the food. One arrived. Had to wait 10min for the other.
Asked for the wine list after our starters. We did wait and wait... I went to get the wine list myself - the waitress apologised, the restaurant was busy.
Did not eat my main course - weeping tiger steak - as the meat had a flavour of... meat fat gone off. The little sauce there was, was bland so couldnt even eat my rice.
They did not charge us for the steak, but the evening was not as planned - had to go home to eat!
It's a shame, we used to like this place and go a couple of times a year, but I dont think we will go back.
Lovely locations and great food
First visit to Thai Square Putney for a while and pleased to report that it has maintained its high standards. In fact the food was even better as a new Executive menu (I think that was what it was called) had some excellent new dishes. Staff very friendly and all dishes were great. The cocktails are also brilliant.
Great please. Always fantastic. Really like the food and the ambient.
Namwaan looked after us very well.
I will back soon .
Great cocktails, wonderful food, great views - wine was also delicious. Service not quite as attentive as it could be although all the staff are absolutely lovely.
I always like the soft shell crab with mango salad and it didn't disappoint. Red curry was good as was the beef dish we had which I can't recall. Thai Square Putney has a great staff, good food, and a great view of the river!
We booked a table but told on arrival after waiting in queue downstairs that there wasn't one?
We waited a fair time and then they found a table.
Waited quite a while to get wine, I had to ask as waiters rushing around while we were ignored.
Food was really good, though I thought the wine was too expensive for what it was, approx. £25 a bottle. £190 for 4 people seemed a bit expensive.
Went for great meal at Thai Square on a Friday night with some friends. We had pre drinks / cocktails in the bar where the music was great. Great selection and price and then went up to table. We chose silver set menu for £30, and found portions large and selection excellent. Followed by coffees. Service was friendly. This is a fabulous restaurant for Putney with superb views, just surprised it was not busier.
The restaurant was practically empty on a Tuesday evening. Granted, it was 6pm. Despite this, we had good service and the food was great. It’s also conveniently located next to the Putney pier so easy to get to should you be taking the RB6 boat.
We had the £30 set menu, as we weren’t sure what to have. The food was lovely and no one went hungry.
Very good Thai food and great location with river view. Even though the restaurant was quiet due to pre NYE, ambience was nice and the food quality excellent.
Excellent as always. Our 4th time at this Thai Sq and service and food has always been spot on
Great location, good food, slow service however it is the Christmas period
It doesn’t disappoint.
The food is good, albeit slightly hotter than usual (not sure why but it was still fantastically tasty)
Really good food and professional service as always
The food was superb!
The food was really delicious although I think it was very overpriced - £17.50 for pad thai noodles is ridiculous. Setting is nice, I would definitely return if someone else was paying e.g. business meal etc.
I went here with some friends as I fancied some thai food locally. I had seen quite a mix of reviews so arrived with some small misgiving but on arrival the staff were very professional and offered to give us the best table with the best view over the river if we were willing to wait 15 minutes, no doubt in response to my note asking for a table with a view of the river.
They have 2 menus - an 'executive' one and the normal version. In this case executive means more expensive but very good. We chose a mix of starters - the duck salad and Scallops from the exec menu, which were all outstanding, and the mixed platter of starters for 2 from the regular menu. This was followed by the lamb shank in yellow curry, vegetable green curry and the jungle curry. All of these were delicious and the jungle curry had a pleasant heat to it as expected. Coupled with the coconut rice it was a lovely meal. Their pina coladas are also very yummy and went down a treat.
Overall a fantastic experience, though the prices are a bit more expensive than entirely warranted (in my view) but the quality is good and it tasted excellent.
My husband and I visit every year if not twice a year. We went in May this year and decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in August. From May to August.... the menu is now half the size and the prices hugely inflated. The king prawns were missing from my pad Thai and was replaced with one giant scary looking shell on prawn. I was not impressed as I left half a bowl of prawnless noodles behind. Such a shame as in this case "change is NOT good". Will not be going back .... so upset at that.
Great setting, we went for the silver set menu. Good set of starters. As we were 3 we had a different main each. Lots of food and great taste. £150 for 3
We asked and told the resturant we are celebrating our anniversary while booking to maybe try and make special efforts but non wat so ever not even a flower on the table. Iv had thai food before in many places like busaba and the taste of food was very bland just looks fancy and well over priced for the taste. Left very disappointed and as soon as we could. My husband didn't even touch his curry as he said is was so tasteless. Only nice thing was decor and view.
Absolutely an amazing place,
Excellent and attentive staff,
Will most definitely make this a regular venue
Really nice food, at a great little spot on the river. Service was fantastic, however the food is very expensive for what is essentially an average menu. They automatically added a 12.5% service charge to the bill, which I felt removed my ability to reward the good service of the staff.
All in all a good little restaurant in a fantastic river location.
Friendly but always feels a bit rushed. Barely get to finish chewing your last morsel before your plate is taken away.
Great authentic food.
The view of the Thames and Putney Bridge is what makes this place a special place. Good service by friendly staff as well.
£13 for a single prawn starter! Another £13 for a 2 scallop starter (but very tasty).
It's local and I've been before but I will really question visiting again due a new seasonal menu that rips you off.
Thanks for a great evening. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. I'll most certainly be back 😋
Lovely food, great location
We all had a lovely evening, great food and service
The food was very good but sadly the service was lacking.
The staff seemed pretty miserable which was awkward at times. When we asked for serviettes there was some attitude. There were only 3 other tables at the time so they're weren't busy at all. Was a shame as not sure we'll return because if it. Location overlooking the river is a real draw.
You really do pay a lot for what you receive. I was also disappointed in the amount of tofu in my tofu dish.
Nice place, food was tasty and lovely cocktails. Service was mediocre. Felt rushed and not very friendly.
We had an enjoyable dinner at Thai Square Putney. The river views are excellent and the food was very good. However, we feel that it would be preferable and more frequented if there was an Opentable offer available like other Thai restaurants in London.
Thai Square Putney is always a treat. here are dishes that I seem to get all the time, the soft-shell crab and mango salad :-) and the spicy scallops. All dishes are good... so after those stand-outs, you can choose your own.
The other part is the view. Opt for a seat by the window and you are sitting on the Thames, looking at Bishop's Park, Putney Pier, and Putney Bridge... outstanding!
The food was very good but we were a bit rushed - could have done with more time between courses
Great warm friendly service, excellent food for meat eaters and vegans.
Asked to turn music down a bit as as a bit loud for conversation.
