Thai Square Richmond
We ate a meal here a few weeks ago and were all disappointed with the food. We spent quite a lot of money here and felt that the price didn't reflect the food.
Delicious food, good service
The food was lovely and the customer service was very good.
The beer was nice and cold. Service was good. Starters were nice. Prawn curry had bits of chicken in it (not good if you’re pescatarian). The curries (we had three different ones) although tasty weren’t curry hot (despite three Chilies on the menu) and the sauce was a very watery soup.
This was exceptional Thai cuisine, and we will definitely come back.
The surroundings are a bit bland, so the restaurant lacks a really special quality in terms of the whole experience. They could be improved on if I'm honest, and the toilets made nicer/be maintained better as well, but overall we had a good experience.
Brilliant food as always and service . Best Thai restaurant I Richmond !
Can be a bit hit and miss at Thai Square Richmond but had good curry even if a little watery.
Thai Square is Ok but not anything I would rave about. Average food and service and not as high standard as other Thai places in Richmond. Would go here because the location is convenient and it is close to the station.
Had to book here last minute after a disastrous lunch elsewhere. So any food would have been most welcome! It was all very good, swift service too which was appreciated and a very nice waitress.
Very busy due to the rugby match in Twickenham but service still good as so busy.
We went before a rugby International at Twickenham. The food was good and the service excellent.
Good food and even better service. We arrived after closing time but as long as we agreed to take all the food at the same time the friendly staff were happy to accommodate us. We’ve eaten at this chain before so were surprised that the quantity, presentation and quality was better than we’ve experienced elsewhere - the team here has put its own stamp on the standard approach. We started with the crispy duck then the crispy talapia and the spicy salad all of which were excellent. Decor and service all very good so all in all no hesitation in recommending to others.
Good food, excellent service, overall good evening out
Very good starters. My mains was also nice. Overall a good evening with some good food.
We went for Sunday dinner. The service was very good, the menu had good and varied choices and the food was excellent - good value for money.
Food was not as good as other thai square branches. Service was good, but I was very disappointed with the green chicken curry. The chicken was really dry. We ordered the vegetarian sharing platter which was mostly tofu which was very spongy. Overall, I would not recommend the Richmond branch.
Went there for dinner on a Friday evening and from the moment we arrived it was continuously pushing us to order, by not just one waitress but 2 of them. It felt they were rushing to get us out quickly for quick turnaround even though the restaurant remained half empty throughout the time we were there. We felt so pushed along, while the waitresses kept asking if we had finished whilst we were eating. They literally moved our plates before we’d even had a chance to swallow our mouthfuls. It was a horrible evening and we chose to go elsewhere for after dinner drinks and dessert. Quite rude service, and for a £80 bill, its somewhere I will not be visiting in a hurry. Avoid if you are looking for an enjoyable dining experience.
Quick and delicious food served promptly before theatre. Very efficient.
Seven of us arrived at 'Thai Square' early on a Monday evening in mid April and were met with a very unfriendly welcome. An unnecessary fuss was then made rearranging a table for seven, despite a booking for 7 persons having been made previously. There were only 3 others, at one table, in the restaurant at the time. After an interminable time a drinks order was taken, and in a fairly brusque manner. A question from one of us as to the possibility of a wifi connection was met with dismissive hostility. The drinks took an age to arrive and then were delivered in a somewhat abrupt manner.
At that point we chose to take our business elsewhere, I settled our drinks bill, requesting the removal of the 12.5% service charge that had been added. Prior to leaving I had a discreet word with the young manager explaining the reasons for our departure.
Overall this was a very disappointing event and I could not recommend 'Thai Square' until such time as some of the staff adopt a more customer aware mentality. The fact that we did not sample any of the food means unfortunately I am unable to make comment on that.
Everything ordered was absolutely delicious and well presented and the service was extremely good
Good reliable Thai food as you would expect, doesn’t let you down
Efficient and fast service - perfect for pre-theatre. Food was fresh and tasty. Staff were good but not very smiley. Would definitely return.
We stopped in Thai Square for a late bite to eat mid week. Service was quick and friendly and the food very tasty. Both had curries and rice; I might have expected slightly larger portions for the price.
Was a bit disappointed as I went there for a 7pm seating and was placed at the front of the restaurant which is nearer the door which had the cold air coming in when the door opened. I asked to be moved to a table that was in the back which was further away from the door and was told those tables were reserved. Nonsense! As those same tables were still unoccupied when we were leaving the restaurant! Absolutely abmissal service and had the cheek to put on a discretionary tip for £11 which I politely declined to pay in protest.
Super food. The service was very good on what was a 6 Nations day. The restaurant was fully booked so full to capacity; even so, we did not have to wait for anything and the staff were really pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised at the price when it came to paying the bill for 6 of us. Great value! I shall certainly be going again.
Not particularly friendly, albeit this was early lunchtime
We were a party of six for a pre-theatre matinee lunch. we ordered from the lunch special menu, and everyone was pleased with their choices. I asked for the fresh chillies to be left out of my soup, this was done as asked without any fuss, thank you. Service was prompt without being over-fussy. We will come again when going to the theatre in Richmond.
I’m a repeat diner however this visit was a little lacklustre. It wasn’t that busy yet service seemed slow but the waitress was bubbly and friendly. Food was good if not a little overpriced.
Perfect and enjoyable experience.
The rugby was on that day so super busy in and around Richmond. I had booked a table and only had a 5 minute wait. Once seated service was pretty quick. Lovely tasty food, mines could have been warmed up a little more.
really well decorated. Excellent Thai food - delicious. we will be back.
Food was as to be expected from a chain Thai, perfectly good but nothing overly exciting. The portions were a little on the small side for the cost of the dishes and the service could have been a little more lively.
Attractive restaurant with good food - the service was a little slow but the staff were pleasant and we werent rushed which was nice. Would go back.
Food was great and there is a good vegetarian choice. Service was very slow though.
Very nice decor. Starter ok but we both ordered the chicken pad Thai and it turned up warm not hot - obviously been waiting in kitchen for a while and very bland. We both left most behind and told waitress but her only answer was I will tell the chef.
Nice restaurant with lovely deco. Very good service and friendly staffs. Excellent food with variety of choices. Was disappointed with stir fried broccoli with garlic. It was very runny but overall food are amazing.
Lovely food and great staff. The place was empty which was a shame for the ambience of it all, but I would highly recommend it
Nice food, but the Thai, veg, was little dull, restruant look a tired, and the window could do with clean, odd to mention, but it just made the place look, like canteen.
We went to the Thai Square before a Six Nations match at Twickenham... 6 of us all had different dishes ... all delicious. Thai beer was also good !
