Thai Square St Albans
Need to book at 19:00?Other great restaurants with availability.
Food was not very nice. Tom Ka Ghai was very very sweet. Got 2 prawns in the pad Thai and 1 of them was mushy. They got the bill all wrong, overcharging us.
Good food. Nice ambience. Very reliable.
Lovely evening! Great drinks
Great family lunch
Good food and ambience. Efficient staff and good service.
Good food - sometimes a bit too hot after some people asked for more mild.
More veggie curry options with coconut milk
Otherwise food good, service good, amazing interior!
Love the food at Thai square! Been to this restaurant a fair few times and each time the service and quality is brilliant. Highly recommend Thai square
Lovely food, lovely environment and very lovely staff. Worth going and would go again and again.
Always great delicious food. Cocktails are amazing too. And the building is lovely.
Overall I cannot rate this restaurant and can only go by what I experienced, which was unfriendly service, mediocre food and an empty reception area on arrival.
They certainly know how to charge for a meal but its just not worth it! You be judge!!
Very tasty Thai food. The service can do with improvement but not too bad overall - the waiting staff should know their menus better- but overall would definitely go back.
Good food and service but upstairs it's so dark, couldn't read the menu
Food is amazing and the service is outstanding. Perfect restaurant for catching up with friends.
Brilliant service and brilliant food !
Best Thai restaurant in St Albans and I’ve been to them all!
Food was cold and had to be sent back. In addition it was not as described on the menu - I went for fish which was supposed to be served on a bed on vegetables - what I received was cold fish on soggy lettuce. Very disappointed at the poor standard of food. There are much better Thai restaurants in St Albans
Delicious food, service is a little slow. Had the Thai red curry and it was superb.
I last visited this restaurant 5 years ago. I was disappointed then but decided to give it another go. We arrived on time at 8 pm and seated upstairs. There were no menus on our table so we took them from the next. It was 19 minutes before we were offered a drink, we had already decided that if we received no attention by 8.20 we would leave. We ordered drinks and food at the same time as we were concerned the waiter may not come back for the food order. The starters were half decent, the main less so. We had to constantly wave down waiters to get additional drinks and the bill. I watched them serve other tables and they did not look up or around to see if any other customers needed attention. It completely spoilt our evening. There is no ambiance whatsoever in the upstairs section, you feel you are out of the way and ignored. The Thai Rack at the end of the street is much better for food and service. We will be going there in future.
Disappointing visit. The starters were OK but the mains were poor with no taste. The service was a bit slow
Great local restaurant with delicious food, helpful friendly staff and efficient service in a fabulous building. Highly recommend.
Walked out after being put on a table and not even a drinks order taken in over 40 minutes. If the restaurant was full I could understand a bit. Even the gentleman at the door didn't seem too bothered by the fact that we had poor service. Didn't even get an apology.
Really nice restaurant, very good food, great atmosphere and the staff were lovely!
Terrible parking. Had to awkwardly stand and wait for somebody to come and greet us. Batter fell off squid and sauce was very spicy. Drink menu was taken away when first drink was ordered so couldn’t have a look if we wanted something different. Asked for tap water and got bottle which was £4 on the bill.
The chicken was a very strange dark grey colour in the curry.
The staff didn’t come and check if everything was ok & had to get up to ask for the bill.
Lovely restaurant in a nice part of town. Food, service all excellent
Another great meal at Thai Square, always a firm favourite. One of our go to restaurants in St Albans.
Food was of a very good standard and service was quick. Restaurant has a very nice ambience and the waiters are friendly. My only complaint would be that some dishes and drinks are expensive.
We needed a quick dinner prior yo attending a concert at St Albans Abbey. The service was quick, polite and friendly. The food was delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. Beautiful medieval building too. Look
At the fireplace upstairs.
As always, wonderful food and service. Very enjoyable evening in a lovely location
A little disappointing and a reminder that good Asian food is very difficult to find outside of London. Indian no problem lots of good Indian restaurants but Asian not so good. Food wasn't exactly bad but just a tad ordinary, service was fine although is a huge restaurant and when we went it was quite empty. Perhaps Im being a tad harsh but I was a little disappointed
We waited 45 minutes to get our first drink . Then we had ask when our starters would be coming out. They cleared our first course dishes away and quickly bought out heated plates ready for our mains - we had to ask twice when they would arrive our plates were cold by the time they delivered three of the four mains - by the time the fourth main arrived every one else had nearly completed theirs. To top it all the only thing we didn’t have to ask for was the bill - which was swiftly delivered - we were not asked if we wanted a dessert or any coffees? I would point out there was a discount applied to the bill - also there was only one beer available and that was really unpleasant!!! No we won’t be revisiting.
Disappointed - The crispy duck was cold.
Main meals, meat over cooked and no flavour.
Surroundings were nice and presentable. Staff were very busy but pleasant.
Shame about the food as we had been looking forward to trying this place.
My husband and I Really enjoyed our valentines dinner 🍴 lovely food so tasty, just such a shame mains came out and were luke warm and not boiling hot, I did complain and they made a new one straight away, but as it was late at night and we didn’t want to wait ages for re made food to come out. Over all I would definitely recommend just shame about it the cold mains. Would go back so delicious the food
The service was rushed. Staff to eager to finish for the night. They were in such a hurry that the waitress spilled play of food on guest coat.
We felt this was a huge let down
Love this place
Great venue, spacious with good ambiance and food never disappoints
Reliable & consistent without being spectacular. A little more knowledge by the waiting staff of the difference between certain dishes would be helpful.
Food was absolutely amazing! Strange smell in the restaurant, but the food was so good that I would go back again and again!
The ambiance and décor in the restaurant was amazing and it felt authentic Thai. The food was perfect and with the service we could not fault anything. Prices were a little bit high, but it is worth it. Will definitely recommend the restaurant to others.
Very nice food and service as per norm. We went as family of (3 kids- 10& under). They loved it, we all did.
Thank you so much!
Great food and service and would visit again sometime in the near future
The service isn't as attentive as it used to be - staff wouldn't take my coat away, which they have done previously. Food was pretty good, and reasonably priced. Will need to refresh its offering to remain competitive in St Albans though.
