Thai Square The Strand
We had to wait a little while for our main dishes, some were on the minutes as we were going to the Theatre. The food was perfectly ok but the restaurant did not have much of an atmosphere.
Great food, amazing service and beautiful interiors!
We met up as a family to enjoy a nice meal. The pros... the food was excellent. The cons... everything else. The service was appalling, in particular from a member of staff called Toby. He was rude and after I asked him not to serve our table anymore because of his attitude towards us and him throwing down the main course on the table whilst we were eating our starters, he then looked over with terrible looks throughout the rest of the meal. It was also exceptionally noisy in there and very difficult to have a normal conversation. They could have easily made up for the poor service but there is a lack of control by the management. Overall a poor excuse for Thai Square. Far better ones in London. Give this a miss and try somewhere else.
Great food and service!
Excellent venue for top quality pre-theatre meal. Great service, food, ambience and great value for money. Not to be missed if your show is at this part of theatre-land!
Had a lovely meal after visiting an exhibition at Somerset House. Lovely food and decent service
This is a very understated restaurant and is both friendly and has excellent food served by efficient attentive staff and we will certainly return and can recommend it to anyone in the area.
Incredible food, ambience, decor and service. A great restaurant and will definitely visit again!
Restaurant and staff excellent vetoed very good and very good value
Had dinner at Thai Square with some friends who were visiting for the weekend. As always food was great and portions very generous. Will come again - a really good reliable Thai in central london.
Convenient, charming, lovely food and good service.
Pre theatre dining. Excellent quality and quantity.
We had a lovely meal before going to the theatre. The food was amazing
Great food, all the flavours are wonderful. The food is quick but generally the service for ordering and getting the bill etc is slow.
Went to Thai Square for a pre theatre dinner - table was booked for 5.30 but annoyingly the restaurant didn't open until then so we and some other diners had to wait outside! Once we were in and seated the surroundings were nice and the food was the star. Tasty and generous portions. Not especially hot in temperature it has to be said. But very good overall.
We were staying in London on the Strand and wanted to have a Thai meal one evening. We checked on the internet and found Thai Square was within walking distance of our hotel and had some very good reviews.
We booked a table, went along and were not disappointed.
The staff and food were excellent and the restaurant itself was very pleasant. The whole pace of proceedings was perfect and we left having had very good experience.
My wife and I will definitely be going back on our next visit to London.
First time dining here. Separate Vegetarian menu which was a bonus. The staff were very nice and the food was gorgeous. Great for a pre-theatre meal. Will definitely dine here again
We came here for a pre-theatre meal and enjoyed it. The food could have been hotter (temperature not spiciness!) but the staff were nice and we had a nice time.
Very pleasant restaurant, nice ambiance, and tasty nicely presented food.
Ok. So repeating my review on TripAdvisor. The meal never arrived. Spent 1hr 40mins in the restaurant and had a starter and a bottle of wine. Wrong main turned up after over an hour then half of the correct order turned up 10 minutes later which was stone cold. Paid for the starter and wine and left. Really ruined a great day out. No excuses for such bad service as most people in the restaurant we’re complaining! Truly shocking.
Bit disappointed with this visit. Restaurant empty so little atmosphere. Food was ok but no frills and not as good as other times. Fine for a quick bite but not a destination venue
I really like the food at Thai Square, I do wish the meat Penang curry came with some vegetables but it was delicious!!
A good venue for a trans-atlantic reunion. I was meeting up with some pals from New York and it was the right ambience and food for a memorable evening. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was enjoyed by all 5 of us.
Good choice on menu. Starter were very good but, having eaten a lot of authentic Thai food in UK and Thailand, we were a little disappointed in our main courses. Service was adequate but rather impersonal.
Handy location close to our hotel. Food was excellent from the silver set. A bit too crowded and overheated but would go again.
Great meal, our waiter was particularly attentive and very pleasant. A good dining experience.
Enjoyed the food, restaurant is spacious and clean but lacks some intimacy for a nice private dinner. Overall, experience was good and would come back!
We booked to go pre-theatre on a Saturday. It was a good choice because they are efficient and the restaurant was not busy at that time. Thai Square food is consistently reliable. It doesn't blow your mind away but it's good value for the money and dependable. Would recommend.
Great food in a handy location
Confused order, inattentive service, didn't record attendance in opentable system, food was mediocre.
It was exactly what I was looking for which was a no fuss client lunch that we could have easily within an hour. It ended up being much longer, not because of slow service but because it was a productive meeting. The service was almost too fast with the starters not quite finished when the mains arrived but that suited us fine.
The food was great , I would certainly recommend the gyoza for starters and the mains were decent sized portions, very tasty and extraordinary good value for money. It was reasonably quiet for a Thursday lunchtime and therefore lacked a little in ambience but it was exactly what I wanted at the time.
This was not our first visit - and it will not be our last. We always enjoy the fresh food. Thanks
I love this place. Never disappointed--Z
The food and service were excellent with the staff both helpful and accommodating. My only negative comments would be the fact that the 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill the customer should have the choice on what gratuity is left.
They came through with flying colours, as always.
This was a first visit to Thai Square on the Strand. We had tried to book Thai Square in other locations, which had been fully booked so were surprised to find that this one was virtually empty, this being a Saturday night in London! However the food was excellent and the service very good. It was just the atmosphere which was sadly lacking. I think in future we will try and book further in advance for one of the more vibrant restaurants in this chain.
Had a fantastic meal. The ingredients were fresh and delicious and the meal tasted amazing! I'd definitely visit again
The food is good, the service impersonal and average. Typical of Thai/Chinese restaurants the people working there seem oblivious to being friendly and attentive. That said you can't fault the food so for an ordinary quick meal before the theatre this restaurant fits the bill.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Would go again. Staff were attentive.
Sat down at table. Table was dirty not cleaned. The waitress you could tell did not want to be there and did not smile once. The food was cold especially the rice the fish was dry and overcooked. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Much much better places to eat in the vicinity.
