The 10 Cases is always a real treat. It can be quite noisy which is a minus if you are hard of hearing! But the food more than makes up for it. I had the delicious cauliflower soup followed by the soft shell crab with avocado--always a favourite. The service is impeccable and we really feel well looked after when we eat there. It isn't the cheapest place to eat, especially as you have to pay for the bread.
I am a huge fan of this place. Good quality food and thoughtfully listed wines. Very reasonable price. 5 star well deserved!
I've been wanting to come here for awhile and so glad I finally did, as it did not disappoint. From the service, to the wine, to the cheese board, and the delicious mains, I can't recommend The 10 Cases enough. We ordered the burrata and cheese board to start, which were very fresh and varying in textures/flavours. For dinner, my friend and I split the beef cheek gnocchi and the sole, which were divine and both specials of the evening. The gnocchi was so tender and the sauce was perfect. My other friend had the vegetarian wellington which she loved. Lastly, the wine list is vast and intriguing. Absolutely loved everything we tried.
Always a good option for this area, I have to say the service at the Bistro is always more hasty than the cave a vin, however on a Saturday night if you want certainty of a seat there isn't much of an alternative than booking the bistro
great modern bistrot food with a great wine list. what's not to like.
Wonderful food and service but very crowded and loud. Cool idea with the ever changing wine list amd meny!
Small space, bland food and abrasive staff made for a disappointing evening.
Great menu items and wine selection. Highly recommended
It’s a nice place in a nice area and the small dishes are excellent.
I thought the service was rushed and unnecessarily so as there was nobody waiting for the table when I finished my meal.
The food was nice, but the main dish described as a ‘sharing dish’ is expensive and unnecessarily so in my opinion.
Wine list is okay .
Would I go back? Maybe.
I think a quick bite at the bar and a glass of wine would be the way to go about visiting 10C’s
Love this place, very buzzy, great friendly service, good food, super wine
Great bistro and wine selection. Would highly recommend for a smart but no-fuss meal in Covent Garden. Well worth a visit.
Friendly buzz on Friday evening. Tasty food served promptly and (relative to usual restaurant prices) well priced excellent quality wine. Attentive and friendly staff.
Very interesting small plates to share. Waitress was very knowledgeable about wines. Croquettes were the only disappointment.
Fantastic, wine-led bistrot. It's a lovely, cosy little bistrot, with attentive but not overbearing service. Amazing selection of wine; it's definitely a place for those who like to try new things. Food is really good as well, a great mix of small plates as well as larger mains. Particularly recommend the butternut squash and burrata! Given that the food and wine menus change on a very regular basis, that's enough of an excuse for future visits.
The 10 cases always has an interesting menu and is perfect for pre-dinner before Donmar Warehouse. Food appears fresh and tasty, they have a decent wine list and service is relaxed and friendly.
My second visit, and I'm not sure why I left it so long. The food is fresh, interesting and delicious, which is all the more impressive as this is a place that is ostensibly chiefly about wine. The constantly changing wine list is full of delights and surprises, (and nor is it marred by too many fashionable minimum intervention wines which are expensive and taste like cider). Had an excellent Pinot Blanc from the Mosel which I wouldn't normally have chosen but Alex was entirely right to recommend. Cheerful and efficient service meant we had plenty of time to have dessert (I'd recommend the berry cheesecake) before the theatre without feeling rushed.
I was quite disappointed by this experience, we were kicked off our table after 90 minutes, which is really not enough time. Additionally we went for the wine, understanding from the website there were 300 to choose from, but on arrival were handed a meagre list of around 15-20, we picked a red, that had been chilled and had lost a lot of flavour because of this, so was very average, when we enquired about 300 wines we were offered a much better list, but then told we had to be moved to the bar because our time at the table was over. All in all, the service was abrupt and the experience was rushed, not relaxed and left an unpleasant feeling, I would struggle to recommend.
Enjoyed the wine bar / bistro. Great find! Will definitely go back again.
Took a friend who eats very little here as I was told they had lots of little plates. However there was not a very extensive choice so she finished up having a dessert rather than one of the tapas type plates. It is a convenient place to eat before going to the Royal Opera House and got busy very quickly around 6 p.m. The noise level was quite high. My spider crab was very good and the heritage tomato salad was also very tasty but they are quite pricey given the size of the portions. It was a definite plus that they gave us both still and sparkling water in large bottles without us even having to ask - and it was free! Would like to go again when I have more time and can sample the main menu preferably when I am not driving later!
I enjoyed an excellent lunch with a friend. Service was attentive while the food was up to the usual very high standards. The more I come to 10 Cases the more I look forward to coming back!
Lovely place - been a few times now. Great staff who know about the wine they are serving. Wines you are unlikely to find elsewhere, and always changing. Nice food, but wine and the service is what makes it. Book to avoid disappointment.
This was the third visit to 10 cases for me.
I like the ambience and relatively inexpensive but delicious foods.
It's always full so you need to make a reservation to get a table most of the time.
Service is okay but don't expect to much as all the waiters are always look busy and running : )
10 Cases is a constant on our pre-theatre dinner favourites. Love the taps style sharing plates. The polenta chips with truffle oil are to die for! Always a fantastic and ever changing wine selection. Great unfussy service and staff are very knowledgeable about wine (bordering on obsessed, but in a good way!). Keep it up and for gods sake don’t take the polenta chips off the menu!
The waiter was very helpful in suggesting the best wine pairing with one’s food selection. If you’re dining alone, I highly recommend ordering a few starters or tapas plates to try different flavors on the menu. My entire order was delicious! Even the bread was phenomenal. Definitely will be returning soon.
We chose the sharing plates. 'Seared beef' was excellent. Other sharing plates were less good - and rather poor value compared to similar selections I have experienced at other venues. Wine is expensive. Service was excellent and very friendly. Ambience and energy of the venue was very good.
Great meal out; we used the sharer plates and starters as a tapas menu so had many of them. Can recommend the squid and soft-shell crab as stand-outs. Mains we went with Aubergine and the sardines, both of which were lovely. We ended up with a couple of bottles of wine off the list and they were more than happy to allow us to use the wine list from next door.
The food is exquisite, attentive service and an excellent wine list.
Good European style cooking, with very reasonably priced wine list.
Everything met our expectations except for the wines themselves, which was a primary reason we booked a table. Some of the wines were unusual, and interesting, but none that we tasted were exceptional or even memorable. Perhaps it was a problem of what we ordered, but with the wine-themed restaurant I was expecting more focus on wines and a broad array of quality wines. We would go back for the overall experience was good and the location is great. Maybe wines will be better next time.
Reasonable choice for those needing gluten free and the staff seem to understand the importance of this and the issues around cross-contamination. A pity that GF bread or biscuits (for cheese) are not available. Some true vegetarian dishes would be good as well.
High quality food and wine served in a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
we were so warmly received - as ever - and so enjoyed sharing small plates with good wine. Really lovely venue
It’s just fab
Very chilled place
Need to book really to avoid any disappointment
We love it
Brilliant night with great food Took friends that hadn’t been and they loved it
One of my absolute favourite restaurants in London - food is brilliant and the vibe is great. Staff so friendly. And its a great wine place. Love it
The service, in particular, was excellent. The waitress was knowledgeable and responsive. The restaurant was busy, but also perfect to catch up with an old friend.
This is just a great place that ticks all the boxes.
First time I went I was more impressed, this time the food was not quite as excellent as it was before. Good enough for a lovely evening and the service was great, but not the best.
Great wine list and amazing tasting food. Service is good fast and staffs are quite attentive.
Had a lovely meal at 10 cases. The food was delicious, wine was excellent & service great. Am definitely coming back!
