The food was amazing!!!
Slightly strange that the staff wasnt wearing any masks, that would be the only thing I’d flag, otherwise great place for dinner!!
Thank you for continuing support in to September with Eat out to help out. The £20 menu for £10 is well worth it for 2 courses. This is my local and the staff are good and the food is quality. The outdoor seating area is a real bonus.
Excellent service and quality fresh ingredients - food fabulous. Had a lovely table outside.
they don’t accept open table why are they on here?
A little underwhelming
Wonderful experience. Have dined here twice and both times had an amazing meal. The venison on this occasion was the best I have had in London, Highly recommend this restaurant and it’s sister Thomas Cubitt in Belgravia. Definitely plan on coming back on our next trip to London
Dear Paul, Thank you for generous feedback, we hope to see you soon again when you next time in London! Michael T
Had a lovely evening and delicious food, however the 25% discount wasn’t applied to my meal and after being told by the waitress to email management I still haven’t received any response ...
Poor customer service from management.
Hello, I am sorry to see that your issue was not resolved on time. Please contact me directly on Michael.t@cubitthouse.co.uk I promise to do my best resolve it as soon as possible. Michael T
Outstanding food and service. The chicken was superb! Pies equally wonderful. Visited 3 times the week I was in London.
Dear Saral, Really happy to see we delivered great food and service on all 3 occasions you were here, thank you for fantastic service! Michael T
Told upon entry that they don’t use OpenTable anymore, but Manager was very nice & have use another decent table on the spot.
Food was only ok, certain items just weren’t up to standard.
The only people in the room....
Sorry Nickt ...We would love to be busy all the time.
The service was excellent, the food awesome. It was a great experience for all the family.
Our family group of 6 had an early dinner before a concert at Royal Albert Hall. Our server was attentive to our time constraint and all the food came out timely, and cooked perfectly. Delicious! The upstairs dining area is absolutely charming. A great place to stop after a day shopping at Harrods or on Sloane Street.
In here on Sunday evening in upstairs dining room which was about half full. Sever was very attentive. Hake main course was average. Squid appetizer made up for it.
Excellent food in a casual environment. Have had just about everything on the menu and never been disappointed
Thank you!
Lord Tennyson seems to have upped its game. A recent refit has much improved the downstairs bar and eating area. Service was slick and friendly and food very good. It had got a littles inconsistent but our lunch was excellent. The wine list, especially by the glass, which was rather boring and bordering on a rip- off is now much improved in its focus, structure and pricing. Well done.
Great to see you enjoyed here , thanks for lovely feedback!
Great atmosphere
Food, atmosphere and location were fab. Service was extremely friendly but a little slow
The service was excellent and attentive. The food was really good. A great choice for lunch in Belgravia
We were upstairs on a Saturday night. The scene in the bar below was extraordinarily raucous and our area started filling up-still pretty good acoustics. The food is consistently good and the service pleasant.
Such a beautiful restaurant, quiet and with amazing food. We ate there with my boyfriend during our weekend in London and were very pleased. I specifically recommend the carrot cake !
The food was excellent and very nicely presented. The staff were very accomodating we turned up early due a change in our schedule and were seated without fuss.
Wonderful find in London. Multi-level establishment with pub setting on the ground floor for drinks and nibbles in a classic contemporary architectural space. Dining on the second floor with great pub food and service nothing done to extremes just very well done
Cozy pub with a reliable menu. Very helpful and attentive service
The food was lovely and the atmosphere was what you would expect from a gastropub. The prices were fairly reasonable although the drinks were certainly on the expensive side. Altogether a very nice experience and would recommend for a nice outing with friends or adult family.
Great venue back time and time again
This is our first visit to this pub but not the Cubitt House group. We weren't disappointed.
The service was a little slow to start with, but once acknowledged we had excellent service, food and atmosphere.
We were introducing our 18 year old son to the London's less touristy places that are a must.
We will be back when next in the area.
Sunday roast was phenomenal!!!
It used to be sooo good. The food still delivers for a Sunday roast but for what you pay the value is low. Service is below par. It’s under staffed, no attention to detail and no apology when the first drink arrives only after 25 min after arrival. Wine is good but that is nothing to credit the venue for. The room is beautiful, the atmosphere is nice but full of self-obsessed locals. It will take some time before we return.
One waiter was very rude but other than that, all good.
Great place ......................................
Great food but dinner for 2 incl drinks I admit 280 quid. Off to bibendum.
Overall this was a disappointing experience. We had 2 starters, 2 main course and shared a dessert - and of the five dishes only one, one of the starters, was fully successful. The others were all let downs in different ways. Service was fine at the beginning but deteriorated badly and before the end had become very frustrating and irritating. Prices for what we got were very high. Overall it wasn't a terrible meal, but certainly didn't live up to the restaurant's promise; and due to the high prices for what it is, value is not good. The best thing was the wine list with many wines available in half-litre carafes, and our St Emilion was very nice.
We had Sunday dinner here last week. One of our party has a number of food allergies and the staff did a wonderful job accommodating them. We had two of the lamb roasts, two beef roasts, and a burger. The staff was friendly and we really enjoyed our meals. It was quiet so talking for a party of five was easy. We are upstairs and had really lovely meal.
One of my favourite places to hang out with friends. Nice food, great ambience, and good service!
Had a great time at the Alfred Tennyson, Value for money, Good ambiance and my guests were pleased as well.
Good friendly staff, excellent food and service. Would highly recommend.
We went to the Alfred Tennyson pub to celebrate my birthday on Saturday evening we were so impressed! Lovely Interior within a beautiful building. We had a larger table for the 2 of us which made a change, had amazing tasty food and good wine. Portion sizes were generous. The service was very attentive and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back again.
So nice we dined there twice! If you are looking for a casual, family-friendly yet pubby place for a delicious meal the Alfred Tennyson is an excellent choice. They offered up: delightful dinners, delicious cocktails (plus creative mocktails for our 7-year-old) and solid choices for the beer lovers. We recommend the smoked trout appetizer, bread worth the small fee, the pan-fried hake, Sunday roast dinner, and the fish and chips. Nothing in either meal disappointed. The desserts (apple pie ala mode) were the perfect end to the evening. Prompt, polite wait service and the kitchen & bar were very responsive to all our special requests! A well-above-average pub with a nice atmosphere upstairs for family dining, clubbier downstairs.
Very good food and good services, very pleasure for Christmas
The food at the AT was very good but was let down by the really poor service. We started in the bar where the staff were very friendly and attentive. When we moved upstairs the restaurant, we found the staff completely disengaged and almost arrogant.
It was a Christmas get together for a number of close friends and we told the staff before and during the meal that this was a special occasion for us. At one point, we needed to go and find staff behind a screen as we wanted to order dessert and coffee.
This was a huge disappointment because the food was actually very good. The kitchen staff should be congratulated.
