Food was lovely although quite expensive. Drinks very expensive. Service was slow. Lovely atmosphere. Cozy and welcoming.
A really nice experience. We will be returning. The gluten free brownie was amazing
A very well peasant meal and not rushed. Good selection on the menu.
We were staying nearby and decided to try this restaurant. Booked a table easily online. Service was excellent and the food was great. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Highly recommended.
Great food, good service and nice atmosphere . Had an enjoyable experience. Will go again.
Excellent Sunday lunch.
Booked and from the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Friendly waiting staff, one in particular who explained about the gravy coming separate for the nut-roast as main gravy was made from meat juices.
The roast, and we all had different was excellent, in fact the best one we had in ages. All went for the smaller appetite portion which was more than adequate. This meant we had space for desserts, again all were lovely.
Would defiantly return and would have no hesitation recommending.
We went at a lunchtime. Even though there was a large party in at the same time the service and quality of food did not suffer.
Staff were friendly and prompt. Food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary and we didn't wait long. They offer 2 prices on some dishes, the lower price being for a 'smaller appetite'. There wasn't much atmosphere but we did book around 6pm so it was early. Steak prices were high, around £20 for a 6oz fillet and overall I thought the prices were too high for pub food. A reduction of 25% across the board would be more accurate in my opinion.
I would recommend The Amberwood but with a caveat about prices.
You've got it right. Keep doing more of the same and with such polite and attentive yet discreet staff.
Amberwood food is always good and this was no exception
A comfortable, friendly place with excellent food.
Very satisfying meal, good selection to choose from, nice surrounding and not crammed in with too many tables. Would recommend.
Big choice of food with choice of regular or smaller portions. The only downside were the chairs which were very uncomfortable & dug into the back. The service was quite slow but it was a Saturday evening!
although a sunday lunchtime.no sunday roasts available.
Excellent as always. Booked on line, no problem. Chose from the extensive Specials board. Both had the crab salad, most enjoyable; obviously only available during summer months there are plenty of other dishes to choose from. Dessert for us has to be New Forest ice cream, Oriental ginger for me and coffee mocha for him! but there are plenty of hot or cold desserts to pick from the dessert board. All in all, it was a lovely visit and great to have a chat with Nicky again.
Very good food as ever and excellent service. Quite noisy but gives a good atmosphere.
Excellent food as always attentive staff and very good value
Delicious food, friendly staff. Traditional pub/restaurant. Lovely feel, dog friendly, family friendly. Overall excellent, really enjoyed our meals
I’m sorry but we used to go here quite often and always enjoy our food . Thistimewe went with friends that were down and I was very disappointed . We are due to come along on New Year’s Eve but I’m a bit nervous now .
We have been visiting the Amberwood for many years always received excellent service also fantastic food.
There is no pressure and relaxing to visit.
Will keep visiting, as enjoyable.
Visited the area with my wife and two small children, had a 3 course meal at the Amberwood included Sunday roast, was excellent overall and service was attentive.
Great venue for an early evening family dinner. Kids menu and adult early bird menu. My pork and mushroom pie was delicious.
Staff very friendly, extensive menu . Food very tasty and in large portions. Will be using this establishment on a more regular basis.
Excellent value for money, home cooked food, brilliant menu range and also Specials. We go there regularly and it has never failed us. We recommend it wholeheartedly.
We arrived a bit early but it wasn't a problem. We ordered the Sunday Roast which arrived quite quickly and we didn't have long to wait. The food was excellent, lots of veg with a good variety. Lots of meat too. Everything was hot. The service from our arrival, right through to paying and departing was very good. Would definitely recommend.
Not good value for money standard has slipped since last visiting
Good food and plenty of it in a pleasant and welcoming restaurant
Always a lovely meal. Great menu offering the best food in the area.
We had a lovely meal. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. Would highly recommend.
We choose to eat at the Amberwood regularly because there is a pleasant, friendly atmosphere there and the food is always excellent.
I’m always amazed by the variety of choice on the Amberwood’s Menu. There’s a 2-3 course menu at a set price besides the A
la Carte Menu and then there’s the Specials’ Board - the size of an old fashioned full size blackboard. There were 5 of us; most ordered the Garlic Mushrooms to begin although my son opted for Hot Bread!!
And that was followed by Salmon Supreme for my granddaughter, two choose the Chili, my husband delighted in the Gammon with both pineapple and fried egg and I had my usual Amberwood treat the Crab Salad. Three of us were so full that we couldn’t fit in dessert but the other two opted for the Brownie with ice cream and the Syrup Pudding with custard. We all thoroughly enjoyed whatever we’d chosen to eat. The service was good and attentive with no real noticeable wait between courses!
Love it here the food and service are always exemplary!
Excellent value for money. A good menu of well cooked food, served hot on hot plates!
Well done, I will be back.
Relaxed dining - friendly staff - great choice of menu - excellent service - really tasty food -recommended
Great food, plenty to choose from and fantastic pub
Lovely food, great evening. Really busy but food was still really good.
Myself along with seven friends visited The Amberwood on Monday 1.30 pm. We all enjoyed our individual meals and I especially enjoyed the prawn cocktail for my starter followed ny poached salmon for my main course and the cost of the 2 course was £11.50 which I think was value for money and cooked to perfection.
Excellent food and service. Lovely evening to celebrate Mother's day
We've been going to the Amberwood for some years now and have always enjoyed friendly service and excellent food.
We really enjoy coming here. Lovely atmosphere and staff are helpful. Food all home cooked and hot and tasty.
