lovely food - best fish pie Ive ever had!, great service, and no annoying 'rules and regulations' - you cant take the dog here, or remove your muddy boots (for walkers), or we finish serving at 2.30 - lovely staff who really seemed to care
Very friendly pub, quite large with lots of different rooms, so not too noisy. Good food, they bought the children's food with the starter which was good. Pretty village and of course near 100 acre wood and Winne the Pooh's shop! Good Sunday after outing
Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, great food, generous portions. A really enjoyable experience. We'll be back.
Friendly helpful service and a roaring log fire on a cold evening. A good selection of well cooked food (especially seafood!) and a friendly word for the dog too. Perfect!
The food portions are large, so you won’t go hungry. There’s a good choice on the menu and everything we ordered was to the same high standard. The staff are friendly and attentive. There’s s relaxed ambience to the surroundings. We’ll definitely go there again!
Restricted menu, due to being very busy day before. (Not our problem)
Food is really excellent. Fresh fish was exceptionsl
It was so lovely, very busy but the staff managed well in the circumstances and the chef was so lovely, he even showed us the desserts before we decided what we wanted. We all had a lovely evening and I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family!
Really really lovely Sunday roast. Freshly cooked. The meat was amazing and the potatoes were to die for. We asked for extra cabbage as that was delicious too and the staff were sooo friendly. If I didn't live so far away this would be my weekend regular
I went here for Father's Day with my family for lunch. The menu is varied but a little pricey.
The roast dinner was excellent.
This place would get 5 stars if it was tidied up outside and given a lick of paint.
Great food, lovely atmosphere - thoroughly recommend
Staff were really friendly but a couple of dishes on the small menu were unavailable leaving limited choice! Not cheap but very nice, good size portions, arrived piping hot.
This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it ... Great food ,friendly staff . We will defiantly be going back .
We were a family of 8 who had been to Pooh Bridge. We had a good service and good food. The sunday roast was excellent.
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch with tasty food. Nice village pub with a friendly atmosphere.
Nice pub, nice staff but slow service, OK food..... Rustic feel seemed popular
Three of our party requested slight variations to the meals on the menu and these were agreed without any fuss. Everything was good and hot.
We met old friends for lunch. We had a reserved table and sat in the corner for 2 hours chatting.
The pub had a reasonable number of people but we could have conversations without having to shout. Food was good, and puddings were wicked!
Staff were friendly and made us welcome.
Food was really good, unfortunately interior looked very tired, some music playing in the background would be good
Incredible service, delicious food, great beer, wonderful atmosphere... We couldn't have asked for anything else
We went to the Anchor following a family walk locally. I booked online which I found very efficient. We arrived early for our booking but from start to finish the service was impeccable and the food was perfect.
