The Angel at Burford
Simplicity and quality are top of our "must have' list here at The Angel. We source our ingredients locally, make full use of seasonal produce and never compromise on standards.
Our menu aims to provide an exceptional standard of food that you can enjoy in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. You will find a mixture of pub classics, seasonal specials, lighter bites and dishes with that little bit extra.
Lovely evening as always, staff attentive and food was great!
I have been before and food was lovely
But sadly this time lamb was tough and the knife blunt so hard to cut. I did tell 2 members of staff it was tough but no response. Would still try again though.
Highly reccomend the Angel, it was really busy but we didn't have any wait, the food was great, the service was excellent, friendly staff, have been in again since we had lunch. Go.
Superb food, excellent service and a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Love the Angel Pub have eaten there lots of times, have been to the Summer Festival which was great. Brought relatives and friends there too who loved it. Great food, good atmosphere and we are always well looked after by the staff and the owner. Would recommend.
We have had some really lovely meals recently at tHe Angel, but unfortunately the Sunday roast was disappointing.
Food was luke warm. It took 3 requests to get a jug of water at the table. Merlot was rough. Overall very disappointing. There’s better in Burford
Slightly slow service after main orders, staff were not quick with orders for the sweet menu and we had to go to the bar to order coffee and the bill
Lovely Sunday lunch, would highly recommend the rare cooked roast beef and Yorkshire puddings
Not the friendliest service but not a disaster. Felt like visitors were less welcome than locals. Food good but no horseradish for roast beef which was a shame when paying £16 for a roast.
Excellent food and friendly waiters
Highly recommend the service was very efficient. Rather dark in the restaurant could do with more lighting
Lovely evening, extremely helpful in accommodating my dietary restrictions.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal - lovely food and excellent service
Great experience, very friendly professional staff. Great food and customer service thank you
My partner and I had Sunday lunch at The Angel; we chose the beef which was well flavoured along with great Yorkshire pudding and good vegetables. The beef could have been more tender but otherwise the meal was great.
Drinks were a little on the expensive side £3.50 for a very small coffee but overall it was a good experience.
You’ll be hard pushed to find a better Sunday roast anywhere else in the Cotswolds! The roast pork was just right. We shared a starter of pan fried prawns which were super fresh.
Great atmosphere as it was the angel’s summer festival that weekend.
We had a great welcome and lovely, imaginative meal. Enjoyed a drink in the fabulous garden beforehand and can recommend the Hookey beers. After the main course we were offered the dessert menu and agreed but it never came and 30 mins later thought coffee and anniversary cake back at the caravan might be quicker and cheaper!
Our recent visit to the Angel did not disappoint. Excellent service and only criticism of the food would be the main meal portion could be a little larger but otherwise could not fault. Good selection of wines. We have now eaten here a few times and would not hesitate to return.
Very nice lunch , really friendly staff 😀👍would be very happy to recommend and return ourselves
Amazing lunch with friends at The Angel. We requested a high chair and a dog friendly table and both were waiting for us on arrival. Food was spot on - I had no room for dessert but had one anyway. How can you not have lemon curd ice cream?!
We had an absolutely delicious Sunday lunch ... 3 of us had the lamb and one the beef. The roasts were delicious the potions were good sized. In summary we could find no fault, would definitely recommend. In addition to the food the service, and ambience were also great! A truly good find.
Very nice but expensive food prices and a small limited menu
Lovely supper with friend and sister. Friendly staff; Good choice on menu
Wonderful food and excellent service, very good value and an extremely enjoyable environment to catch up with friends in.
Not a good experience......certainly not memorable. We shall not return.
Lovely family Sunday lunch with speedy service and delicious food. Keep up the good work!
Genuinely great customer service along with really nice, hot, food. Will def be going back!
Food, service and atmosphere absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back.
Birthday treat. It was jazz night too - a bonus for me. We were offered a table in the back room but opted for one near the band. Service timing was good and we opted for a break before the pudding. Nice touch to get a glass of fizz on arrival for my birthday. I had the salmon roulade and my husband had the pate. My husband had smoked haddock and I had lamb (pink) for the main course. My husband finished with cherry bakewell. Our second visit. My husband dropped me off and parked in the car park at the bottom of the road.
Unfortuanely we were three old friends meeting up after a year for a catch up.Did not realise there would be a jaz band on that night. The music was great although made it a bit difficult to talk. The food and service was good.
Nothing diasterous with this lunch, it just wasn't special. We eat out most Sundays and are always looking for somewhere new. The Angel came recommended and indeed the menu looked OK.
It's quite expensive for what it is. A pretty cramped table in a pub bar.
Service OK. Quite friendly.
However, beef was topside and a tough. Roast potatoes not the best. Gravy was great. Hake was extremely dry. Treacle sponge and custard on the specials board should have been a treat, but in reality was poor. The sponge was heavy and not really treacly enough and the custard was strangely lumpy.
Probably won't be going back.
Surprised and satisfied.
Great food and great service. Everyone in our party of 7 really enjoyed their meals.
The visit was pleasant, food was very good and my rating would have been higher but it was spoiled by the very bitter tasting coffee at the end of the meal. This was echoed by the people sitting on the table next to us.
Excellent food and service, and accomated our needs with our dog.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner for two. Food was delicious, good atmosphere and great service. A very pleasant evening. Fully recommend.
Go for a pint/drinks and bar snacks and the fantastic atmosphere
The food is average. Stick with the pub staples.
But again the atmosphere, the quality drinks and the really lovely staff are wonderful.
Great menu, plenty of choice plus daily specials, delicious gourmet freshly prepared food at great prices, staff were so friendly and attentive, made the experience even better. The front of the pub can be a squeeze as the tables are quite close but it’s so cosy and comfy that it wasn’t an issue for us.
Met up with friends from Reading and Birmingham. I drove from Wiltshire. Had a lovely meal and the service was excellent. Not so noisy as last time we met there which was good as we could catch up on each other's news. Thank-you for a lovely lunch everyone at the angel. We'll be coming again in September/October
My three sisters and I had a lovely lunch at The Angel, the food and the service were perfect. We have been there many times and will certainly be going back in the future.
