Traditional cosy pub atmosphere dog friendly nice bar. Lunch was £80 for two steak fries and ice cream dessert and a glass of wine. Thought that rather expensive for a pub lunch. Service very good though

Food was good as well as plentiful, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were made to feel really welcome and all at a reasonable price

Tables are much to close together. Really impersonal. However, the food was perfect. Need to tweak the seating before I would return.

food was great quality and a good amount. Is a lovley place to be at just felt a little cramped where we were sat in the front of the pub rather than the resturant. When I asked if we could move we were told he had to check bookings, no one else came in to eat and there were plenty of free tables. He didn't even come back to tell us.
overall its a lovley place to eat and we would come back.

I was looking forward to returning after having had a delicious lunch with family in December. I was disappointed as normally they have a nice range of veggie options on the specials board or set menu. This night there were none just the regular menu which only had the wild mushroom risotto as a no meat option, which is a dish I like. This was not good, it was not fragrant and tasty and creamy more grainy and incredibly oily with what I think were not wild mushroom but larger slimy overcooked mushrooms which was unpleasant and hard to eat. Had we not been entertaining friends I would have sent it back. Drinks orders were slow, plates were taken before we were finished, cutlery dropped. My husband's fish and chips were incredibly small more like a child's portion. It's a shame as we had previously enjoyed this place.

Good food but mains do not come with veg etc - all are side orders. Polite friendly service. Very cosy with tables close together. Had a very enjoyable birthday lunch but quite expensive.

We came here at 3 with a baby. The staff kindly offered a high chair. It was our first Sunday roast experience, and as French people full of cliche, we did not expect such good cuisine for a Sunday Roast!!! Delicious, friendly, with good beer, well that was a great experience.

Three of my sisters and I had a great get together here, the food was brilliant and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were attentive but not too intrusive. It was the perfect place for a delicious lunch and a quiet get together. We have been lots of times before and it never disappoints.

We have eaten here many times, and it is always delicious, cosy, a really warm atmosphere, not too noisy, and the tables not too close together, so you don't feel hemmed in.
In the summer, lovely to eat outside in the attractive garden.

A quintessential Cotswolds pub that doesn’t disappoint. Located yards off Burford high street, it is exactly how you imagine a traditionally country pub to be. Small cosy bar with a roaring fire place, a selection of fine Hook Norton ales, a great English food menu and wonderful / friendly staff. My wife & I spent 5 days in Burford and we visited The Angel every day. Absolutely the best pub in the town but be sure to reserve a table due to its popularity. 5 out of 5. Thank You

We stayed here recently. Room was great, Spotless. We had DBB - evening meal was stunning. I had salt and pepper calamari and sea bass and brown shrimp risotto. Delicious. Breakfast was gorgeous too. This is the second time I have been and will definitely return.

The beer delivery did wake us around 7 but it is a pub with accommodation and to be expected. Didn’t spoil our stay.

Thank you Angel.

Service was friendly but we ordered from festive menu to be told later it that had to be pre-ordered. Then ordered one chicken main off the main menu. 5 mins later: sorry no chicken. also, one of the starters ordered was unavailable.
Food when it came was good though.
Otherwise all ok.

We went on a Monday night, we were the only couple in the main part of the restaurant so it was very quiet indeed. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and I'm sure that the ambiance would be wonderful if there had been more people there! The food was absolutely delicious and the service very good. We would definitely recommend The Angel.

Menu said rare roast beef. It was definitely not rare. Gravy thick and cold. Vegetables stewed. Potatoes obviously cooked sometime before dinner served hard and cool. To charge £16 for this was a rip off. Very disappointed and I will not return.

We went for Sunday lunch; the choice that day was beef or ham. We had the beef, which was tender as well as tasty and a very good sized portion. By way of a change, the accompanying vegetables were roasted, and were very tasty too.
Although quite full after all that, I was tempted by the sticky toffee pudding served wth a caramel sauce and homemade icecream, and glad that I succumbed, as the pudding was delicious and quite light.
The menu looked interesting and we shall return.

Met up with friends. Warm welcome given and food excellent.
We were unfortunately sat near a large table booking who were quite noisy, so at times it was difficult to hear our conversation.
Overall would definitely recommend the pub as a good meeting place and wonderful Sunday lunch
