Great food, service ok but a bit slow, not sure why service charge has to be added on automatically, surely that should be my choice? Best part of the visit was the venue - it’s beautiful with a great atmosphere.

Waitress let us know the kitchen was very busy as soon as we got seated which was helpful. The food arrived within a reasonable time. The fish curry wasnt the greatest but overall the experience was good

Had a really good experience, really friendly, welcoming efficient staff, only downside for a dedicated gin drinker was the dreadful tonic.

I love how they’ve designed the Anthologist, really adding to the atmosphere since I was last there. Excellent service and the biggest smile you’ll ever get from the lady who greets you - great way to start the day.

We were a small group at the restaurant the first of the spring menu. The food was great - there was even some food envy around the table. I would say the only thing that was off was the service was a little slow. There were not that many people in the restaurant and so I would have expected it to be a little better. However it was not bad enough that I would not go back. The servers when they did come over were friendly and fun.

Very poor salad. Just a few chicory leaves, lots of feta and the added halloumi (for which I paid extra) was breaded and fried. So hard and tasteless. There was no other salad in the salad I think I saw a pumpkin seed but can’t be sure. I expected a lot better

disappointed that the Grilled salmon has been removed from the menu. One diner had to wait a while after the rest of us had received our food, we had to ask for it. The service charge was added to the bill so we didn't feel the need to leave a tip but the waitress took it upon herself not to return with the change.

Good for business meeting, you can actually talk and be heard if seat on a separate table. Also good for groups - larger tables are available.
Neutral decor inside, tasty food. Good value.

Great venue in a handy location for Business Meals. Service was friendly and tolerant (I was early and waited for about an hour for my guest - who was on time for the booking!) and they were suitably attentive and non-intrusive.

Really nice food, nice drinks! lively atmosphere etc... only downside is, despite booking a table, three separate people came to us on three separate occasions asking if we needed anything else after our meal. In the space of 5 mins. In fact, one person tried to take my plate while i was still eating! They obviously wanted to rush us out.. but was quite rude and disappointing considering we had reservations and ordered a decent amount :(

The food was greasy but to be fair we had ordered fried starters. Since it was a Friday dinner the service was tardy. But the location was great as it was very convenient for a office dinner party .

Went for lunch. Service was very good (prompt and friendly) but food was nothing to write home about. I had the burger & bun was stale and tasteless and my friend had crab linguine which had trace scatterings of crab but heaps of (uncharred) corn. Fine for a quick catch-up but looking back, I wouldn't recommend the food for anything special.

Nice venue in a central location. Good for breakfast but service was slow and not very attentive. Took an age to get the bill and then to be able to pay which frustrating.

It is a large space and was quite full at lunchtime and so must be popular. I was just a little underwhelmed by the experience. The food was fine but no more than that-I didn't think-oh yes, must come again.

Had a very fun Friday night celebrating my birthday. My only negative would be the noise level - we were sat in the restaurant side and it was so loud you had to shout to have a conversation.

It was a very busy lunchtime so I tried to be patient, but it took really long to get anyone's attention so that we could order (I had a reservation and we were seated and given menus right away). When we were finally able to order, the waiter recommended that we get some nibbles because the kitchen was very busy and our food would take longer than normal. The food once it came was great, but when finished we again had a long wait to get our bill.

Food was ok-ish, service spotty.

Ordered an omelette with cheese and mushroom, waited a long time then received one with cheese and ham. Tried to attract waiter's attention to change it but nobody noticed me so in the end got up and went to find waiter myself.
Asked for a peppermint tea, that took ages as well.

Unfortunately I got there to find my table had been double booked and the people who where sitting there really didnt want to give it up. So I ended up not actually eating there. I also didn't realise that it is a club night on a friday, (I guess i must have missed the memo on that one) It was extremely loud so me and my party of 5 left hungry and went to find somewhere else we could eat and have a conversation. Its a real shame because im sure the food is delicious.

The service was awful. Too few staff looking after too many people in at the busiest time. The waitress didn’t know whether she was coming or going but she / we was / were saved by her colleague. We didn’t get served drinks for 15 minutes (and then I had to ask someone), then it became even more shambolic. Food way too salty (and I like salty food) and an embarrassing business lunch.

A shame as it used to be excellent in all respects.

I've been to the Anthologist before and it is one of my favourite places in the City.
The staff (host) at the door are always nice and welcoming. However, last week the waiter and the service provided were not as great as they should be.
We ordered 3 glasses of Prosecco, they brought only 1- so we had to wait for the next 2.
The 3 of us ordered steaks and had to wait almost 1 hour, when the waitress came one of he steaks was Rib- eye, and my friend ordered Sirloin. The waitress then realised that she placed the wrong order. I know everyone makes mistakes, and my friend was happy to eat the Sirloin but I think for a well- known place like the Anthologist- this should not be happening. At the end of the day, that's what she is supposed to do- take orders correctly.
Overall, the food and the environment were great as usual!

Booked this restaurant as they were advertising a choice of two set menus, on arrival we were told that the set menus were no longer available despite me saying that we were booking because we wanted the set menu in my booking email. Food was ok, nothing special. The service was really slow, asked to order our food before our drinks order had been taken and drinks were slow to arrive. This would be ok if we had all ordered complicated cocktails but 3 cokes, two pints and two glasses of red isn’t complicated. Round two of drinks also took along time to come and we weren’t even offered desserts. It wasn’t very busy so we couldn’t understand the slow service. This is definitely more of an after work drinks and nibbles kinda place rather than to go specifically for lunch or dinner.

I booked a table through you but got a call the next day after making all my arrangements to say actually the restaurant couldn't accommodate our booking as they were fully booked. Why advertise the availability if there isn't any?
