Good value, staff a bit slow to service ghighh
2 course theatre set menu was only £16, but the food was pretty basic. The prawn starter was tasty, the fishcake main was bland and the chips were below average. The atmosphere was nice but I wouldn't visit again.
This was a 12:30 lunch booking. We were shown to our table in a friendly and courteous way. drinks were offered and we studied the excellent menu (something for everyone there). Food was very good indeed as was the wine.
The main thing to comment on is what very nice people the staff members are: efficient and pleasant without exception: a really good group.
Great place nice seating to hear live music in background without being too loud
Brilliant atmosphere, great food and outstanding jazz. Fully recommend it.
It is a noisy restaurant, as its in an arch under a railway line and has a brick vaulted ceiling. But we like it there, so go on average 6 times a year.
Good food and friendly service and good value too. Definitely would eat there again
We went for a pre theatre dinner so were there very early. The staff were friendly and helpful choosing from the menu. I had the lamb, which was delicious, although quite expensive. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will visit again.
An excellent way to spend a Sunday lunch. Superb food, wine and service.
Great atmosphere with live music at just about the right sound level. We could chat comfortably if we wanted to. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. My steak was cooked exactly as I asked and the others enjoyed the bouef bourguignon.
It was quite expensive, but the entertainment was what kept us there all evening. Great jazz, great cocktails. An ideal birthday dinner/evening.
Had a very nice evening, great service by friendly, attentive staff, good food. One negative, I don’t like places that stick a service charge on the bill, that should be a matter between the customers and the service staff. I know you are not obliged to pay it but it’s the presumption that you will that sticks in the throat
So glad I chose The Archduke for our dinner on our family day out in London. It’s a lovely little place with a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. The cocktails we had were delicious and strong! The 3 course set meal was excellent value and the food delicious. The only suggestion I would make is that it would’ve been nice to have some vegetables with the steak & chips. We will certainly return here as our restaurant of choice whenever we are visiting the Southbank area in the future :-)
Pre theatre meal at the Archduke lived up to our great expectations. Menu varied from typical Burgers and Shepherds pie to more interesting dishes. We both had the vegetarian option of Artichoke, asparagus and wild mushroom pie which was delicious and we would very much recommend. The flavours of the ingredients were amazing.
Lovely venue with great service. Try it. You'll enjoy.
First time visiting The Archduke. I was impressed by its location. food, staff & the atmosphere - the sound of the trains passing overhead was classic. Also, excellent value for money. Now one of my "go to" places. Highly recommend.
I love this restaurant. Great food, great music and great music. The vibe of this restaurant is perfect built into the old railway arches.
We are the cote de Boeuf. Is there a nicer cut of steak? We have had this several times at Archdukes and this was probably cooked the best.
I love this place
Absolutely perfect and a joy. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. After eating in the Restaurant our Waiter found a table for us in the Coservatory to continue our evening and we received excellent table service there too.
Great food in a great location. Very good value should be double the price.
Food very good value, service excellent. However the noise level from the air conditioning unit was very loud that it spoilt the o really ambience - almost impossible to hear the pianist from where we were sitting. A shame.
I was recommended by a friend to have the steak. Which was magnificent. I also ordered the garlic prawns which were overcooked and not deviened. Slightly disappointing. However, the wine was superb and the atmosphere was really good despite the waiters being obviously busy and in a hurry to please.
Found out about this place via a google search for places near the London eye. Very pleased we chose this place. Our reservation was for 7:30 through Open Table but we were ready to eat around 6:45 so we thought we'd try to get seated earlier. That was no problem and the hostess showed us to a table right away. It wasnt too crowded and there was a nice ambiance when we arrived. Food was very good and service was good too. Pricing was reasonable for the quality of food received and the portion sizes were more than adequate. We left a happy family of 4 after our Archduke experience.
This was our third visit to the Archduke. As expected, the food was good and the services was friendly and efficient. Would definitely return.
Food and service was excellent, maybe even a little quick. Loved the split level seating which meant the bar area was clearly sectioned from the restaurant area.
The food was fantastic, we shared the ham terrine to start and then had the house burger and grilled salmon which were both fantastic. The sorbet and the lemon tarte for dessert were both a lovely end to the dinner.
The only small issues were that whilst the music and singing were really high quality, they were at times a touch too loud so that they stopped conversation. Also an extra drink managed to slip it’s way into our bill but that was sorted very quickly.
Top place, would recommend.
We have a very nice meal a great beer here, will be going again.
Very good as usual thoroughly enjoy the food and atmosphere- very accessible to station and river
The food was lovely and amazing value, lots of vegetarian options. Brilliant, lively atmosphere with a live jazz pianist to accompany the meal. I absolutely would return when I am next in London. Our waiter was great, too.
Very attentive service and lovely food, every dish was enjoyed and the bill was a lot less than anticipated. Look forward to a return visit,
The experience was unique, being under The Tube, but was wonderful. Food and service were terrific, as were the drinks. Neat place to people watch!
Very nice! Good food and nice service. Steak was good and also the burger.
Had another fantastic meal at the Archduke. Steak was marvellous and the waitress recognised us from when we last visited in May. Class!!
Great location if you are heading out to Southbank for a show. Staff were great, service quick and knowledgeable
Food was good so overall a great experience
Went for a business lunch. Very good value set menu with attractive choices. Wine a trifle expensive. Excellent service from friendly staff.
Really great staff, very attentive, we went for the set menu, 2 courses for £16, amazing value for money, the food was really lovely, well cooked, one of my favourite restaurants.
Very handy for the Southbank and more interesting than the chains
Efficient and friendly service. Had the 2 course pre-theatre menu. Food arrived in good time. My steak was lovely and just as I requested. It’s a shame the pianist wasn’t there, but that said it was quite early in the evening. This was my second visit in a few weeks and happy this time as I was previously
Good for a pre theatre dinner on a very hot evening
Great venue. Food was fantastic and steaks cooked to perfection. Cocktails were great. A lovely few hours spent by our group and everyone said they would go back. Thank you
Came here to meet some long lost friends as it was close to Waterloo. There’s a small menu but the food were all tasty and plentiful, so great value! There was live piano music and the restaurant did a feel of class about it without being pompous.
We enjoyed our visit, helped by seeing old friends
We had a table for an afternoon for our daughters graduation, we had a great afternoon with great food and a great service and would highly recommend the Archduke. There was no rush from the staff for us to leave do we didn't until early evening. Thanks again it was great.
Always enjoy the Archduke. Food good, good value and a table by the window. Perfect.
Only downside was level of noise, couldnt hear the jazz singer or ourselves speak.
Doubt anything could b done to fix it but shows people enjoying themselves
