It was our 47 th wedding Anniversary and highly recommended by a friend , it lived up to all our expectations, and the wine package for each dish was an amazing experience, such different wines that suited every dish , the staff were brilliant and so knowledgeable , it will live with us forever , Thankyou .
This is our second visit to the restaurant in the last 3 months and again it never disappointed - Fantastic food, fantastic service
Absolutely gorgeous. Exceptional service. Unbeatable precision on timing for all the table guests on all the courses. Beautifully mannered, genuinely friendly team with good senses of humour & whose high levels of eye contact & personal engagement with each one of us made the evening a perfect one.
Excellent meal great service would recommend to family & friends.
We had a lovely meal with excellent service...
The food was beautifully presented and very tasty.
Would definitely go back again.
A very relaxed evening with excellent food, service and ambience. Would definitely recommend the venue to others.
Fabulous meal! Made my mum feel really special! Food was delicious, service impecable.
A very pleasant evening.Excellent service.food was good, very good. The fish and the jus with the guinea fowl were both a bit too salty ,.The guinea fowl had too much on the plate
An amazing restaurant, with 5 star food, staff and service. This restaurant is a must for any foodie x
My wife and I went there for her birthday and the food , service etc were second to none. I could not fault this place and having dined at some of the most exclusive places in London the Art School tops them all. Paul Askew has got it cracked.
A lovely evening great food, attentive staff a nice treat
not as good as we expected, the starters were not good at all, they seemed to have been kept warm for too long before serving. They were served in tiny dishes which thrust the various components together in a way which meant that flavours were lost.
The main courses were excellent as was the service.
Excellent quality and choice, service was informed but not too much
The food was fantastic and we had the 3 course menu which was outstanding. The wine choice was great but I thought the prices being too high.
Simply superb. The best food I have ever tasted. Service was impeccable, the tasting menu was a journey of discovery and the wine was devine. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great service from arriving and leaving . Food was exceptional . Small touches such as the receptionist warming my coat against the warmth of the fire before going outside in the cold was really lovely
Beautiful food as always. Attentive staff and great service. Now that the Art School is becoming more popular I feel like you don't get the personal touch as much as we use to. For example the very first time I went they gave us extra desert and had written "Happy Birthday" on the slate. It was very cute. I realise they can't really do this any more as it's much more busy but I still miss it!
Excellent, excellent food. Brilliant service. 10/10 would go again
It was great, no issues. Would recommend for any event.
Exemplary service: facilities excellent: overall good.
Main meal - pork dry. I expect for the price we paid for the food to be perfect.
Desert excellent as was the desert wine
Had the Vegetarian tasting Menu with Wine Fleet - everything was excellent. Service was faultless - special thanks to Richard!
Excellent food and very good value. The service was attentive but not intrusive - the right balance. Our second visit with a friend and we will definitely return on a future visit to Liverpool.
Excellent venue, wonderful service, great for a special occasion, or if you just fancy something special.
We were well looked after at The Art School when we went for a special birthday. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences to date. Would highly recommend it.
The Art School is nothing less than amazing.
It is certainly a class above the normal dining experience, and at first I was a little hesitant as I thought I may feel a little out of place and it may be a little 'snobbish'. I am pleased to say that I could not be more wrong! Although the class of the place oozed out, I felt extremely comfortable. From start to finish, every member of staff who greeted, served and said goodbye, were friendly while being extremely professional. The food was superb, I have to say that it was the best meal of it's kind that I have ever had! As this was our first visit we went for the fixed price menu which was the most amazing value. Every dish was cooked to perfection with a great balance of flavours. The portion sizes were perfect too, no need for side dishes. I couldn't recommend The Art School more highly, although I would really like it to keep my own little secret!!!
From start to finish the service was impeccable. The waiting staff were mainly young in age however they all presented themselves and the establishment beautifully.
The food was delightful in style and quality.
I recommend visiting without hesitation.
We had a fantastic meal on a special Birthday, impressive surroundings, the staff were very attentive and knowable
We went to the Art School for a birthday celebration. They contacted me a couple of hours before the reservation to confirm our attendance and also to check for any food allergies etc. On arrival, the maitre d' was polite and attentive, as were all of the staff who explained each dish as it arrived. The only concern I had was the 10% service charge which the waitress asked if I objected to. I prefer to leave a separate tip. Overall good vfm.
The restaurant is really excellent in every way. A delightful, elegant room, with plenty of space and comfortable seating. The service is both exemplary and friendly. The prix-fixe menu is a bargain and, above all, the food - top-level modern European - is absolutely delicious. Good wines by the glass, too. I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly.
Service is completely pleasing. Comfortable ambient and special menu make it the best choice to eat in Liverpool. Food is excellent both in looking or the taste.
We had a fantastic meal. We will definitely go back
We had the pescatarian 'menu excellence' (£69 each for three courses plus one glass of champagne, bread, canapes and amuses-bouches).
The food was excellent throughout - creative and very tasty with some great imaginative flavour combinations. Spreading the meal over lots of small plates made for a relaxed evening lasting a couple of hours, leaving us satisfied but not stuffed. Although not cheap, I thought the price was very fair for the fabulous food and the lovely surroundings.
It is evident that the chef takes non-meat eaters seriously and produces some really good dishes for us.
The staff were lovely too, friendly and helpful, explaining the contents of each plate without being over-attentive or fussing over us.
My wifes 40th spoilt with great food and great service .loved every minute
High quality restaurant, with excellent service, lovely ambience and especially good food. Wine list has a full range, with some good French wines at the affordable end.
Really enjoyed evening food great service perfect, staff were really friendly, tiolets spotless.
only complaint because it was such a cold night I found the restaurant cold wind each time the door opened, will definitely go again on a warmer evening .
completely enjoyed the food and evening
Simply an outstanding restaurant . Food as good as you will get anywhere . Staff as good as you will get anywhere . A very , very good dining experience . Only 23 Jan and that was probably the best meal I will have all year . The early starter menu ie be seated by 6pm is great value for money at £29 per person .
Very good lunch menu with service to match, being gluten free the art school made me feel at ease and were able to let me have most things of the menu
Nice atmosphere on arrival but the welcome was a bit too formal, could be more relaxed (warming the coats by the open fire at the end was just pretentious). The dining room is open plan and has a high, Victorian, glass canopy. Imagine a posh school gym. Even though the numbers dining were quite small the noise from some of the other tables, especially one at the far end was intrusive. Tables are very well laid up but intimate it is not. Starters were Ok without being anything special. Mains were very good. The steak was cooked to perfection. Sweets were a little disappointing. An assiette that was well prepared but lacked variety and texture (and no chocolate or ice cream!). Wines were very good and reasonably priced. We had the cheese as well which was a good selection but the fig chutney was hard and stringy and the honey tasted as if they had added garlic! Yuk! Good selection of biscuits. The service was excellent with the waiting staff really trying hard to make the event special. Overall, a bit pricey for what's on offer and the main menu and tasting menus are even more expensive. Perhaps it comes into it's own for a special occasion?
Good ambience. But the long waiting between courses is not so delightful
