The Owl Bar
I enjoyed our meal at the Owl Bar the other night. The service was very slow - getting started - but once we were waited on, the server was very good. I realize the restaurant was very busy that night and our food took a while to get served. Then, there were a few mistakes on the items. I had asked for fries and got the chips instead. Another person asked for NO cheese on her burger and there was cheese on the burger.
My other complaint was that it was extremely noisy because the music was turned up VERY high.
But, other than that, we enjoyed our meal and the food was delicious.
Nice that the Owl Bar has such longevity! Food is good and ambiance is wonderful. The bar section is too noisy, but there is another, quieter section in which you can sit. It's pretty reasonably priced. Thumbs up.
Enjoyed the evening! Waiter was great! We were celebrating my son's 25th birthday
The night after our wedding, so many family and friends gathered here and had the best time- grateful to the bar for being awesome hosts and showing so many out-of-towners a positive fun night!
Love this place! Bartender and servers are so helpful and friendly!
Nice lunch at The Owl Bar! Despite the fact that bartender was doing double duty both behind the bar and waiting tables, we never felt that service suffered in any way. He was attentive, friendly and extremely efficient! Food was very good (normal bar fare) but the star of the show was the room itself — great decor and interesting history! You’ll have to work hard to find all the owls!
Lovely, I'm jealous of the space and wish a bar with that history/beauty was in NYC.
The Owl Bar is my favorite spot in Baltimore. The food and atmosphere are great and the prices are totally reasonable. Highly recommend
First time ever at The Owl Bar — great brunch! Food, service and ambiance were all top notch! The beignets were especially delicious. Highly recommended —
The food was very good, huge portions, and prices were reasonable. Great service. Me, my mother, and sister when during lunch hour; the environment of the restaurant was quiet. Loved the maple and Jalapeno bacon basket!
went for brunch at 11am on a sunday, party of 3. had reservation but plenty of available seating. attentive and friendly service w/ quick food turn around. great ambiance and vibrancy, but not too loud. all our food options were great - shrimp & grits, beignets. bottomless mimosa option was also great. they weren’t watered down (like some places) and they were kept flowing. will definitely be back!
The Owl Bar assisted me beautifully with hosting a birthday dinner for my family. The service was nice, the food came quickly. The drinks were flowing. Great experience!
Food just ok
Service was excellent
Fans blow too much so your food cools off fast
Will try again
I love the Owl Bar and appreciated the hostess asking whether we preferred a quieter location or the louder main bar area. The service is always prompt and the food is adequately priced and delicious. Love the ambiance!
It was a little too loud for us - we had our elderly mothers with us. But it was Pride weekend, so we understood. And it was a Friday night at Happy Hour. :)
Monica the waitress was attentive.
Only issue mussels were not hot
The food and drinks are way overpriced for what the menu offers. The pizza is just ok.
This was a great place to eat! The bartender took great care of us and the food was pretty good. The benigets come with several different sauces as and they’re all pretty sweet. French toast is coveredddd in berries which I personally like a lot. And it comes with potatoes which was different but ended up being perfect because the French toast was sweet. The drinks are great too - bourbon drinks made my day.
They serve only pub food now, no dinner on trays unlike the past. The burgers and duck fat fries were excellent and cooked just like we ordered. Brussel sprout side was not cared for. Kettle chips tasted stale. The service was really poor from waiter and food server both. They all seem to be hustling so I am wondering if they were understaffed. It was overly air conditioned but after 2 requests, it was turn down. Ceiling fans going full blast didnt help in the mild temp. Still, cant beat the ambiance and history of the Owl Bar and Belvedere. Thought the owls' lit eyes blinked off and on but these owls' eyes did not.
Great vibes in a really cool spot! My friend and I ordered salads and shared a pizza and it was the perfect amount of food for a decent price. Worth checking out!
You had to scream to communicate at happy hour. Food was very good
Great place to have a brunch with spouse as we remember the ambiance from 51 years ago when we met and enjoyed a yard of ale!
We met up at the Owl Bar for a Birthday dinner. Service was great, food was even better!
Great place. Always a pleasure to come here. Nicole was very attentive. Thanks!!
I really like the Owl Bar. Service and food were outstanding. The only negative was the noise level. Our party of four had a great time at the Owl Bar. I recommend the Owl Bar.
The food didn’t really blow my hair back. We had the chicken pot pie and the fried green tomatoes appetizers. It was much better in thought than execution. The appetizers were a little bland and saltless/unseasoned. However the entrées were fantastic, although the house ships could’ve used a dusting of salt as well. That said, everything else was terrific. Great ambiance. Great service. We’ll be back.
Great experience first timer. Food great. Atmosphere wonderful. John was attentive. Service upscale. Great gem. Will visit again. Thanks Owl Bar.
For a quick bite and happy hour, I can say I was served food and beverage. Would I recommend to come again, no. Food was bland and over cooked. Service was slow. If you don’t care about the food and want a strong drink, this is the type of place to go to.
Food was excellent. Have not been to the Owl Bar for many years. In town visiting family and it was the first brunch place I selected. Love the history!
To loud. Great otherwise
Food tasted great. The only draw back was the noise level, but it was not a deal breaker.
Great place, hadn't been there in years. I didn't realize they don't have any entrees, just bar food, and sandwiches. But we had the duck fat fries and they were Awesome! Sandwiches were great too, but the fries . . . MMmmm. There were several weddings going on in the hotel, and the Owl Bar was quite packed when we first got there, but as the wedding crowds left, it was a more relaxed vibe. Definitely would recommend.
I ordered as soon as I sat down and waited 45 minutes for salads. This was unacceptable as we then had to shovel our food in order to not be late for our show. This is the second time we’ve received slow service. We’ll be hard pressed to return. Fortunately, there are many other options in the area.
Really good but our waiter was definitely the only one and was very busy
Noisy, but that was to be expected. There were many large groups of people celebrating. Service was slowish. Food and drink delicious.
Everyone there has a beautiful soul. It is nice. You will like it.
This was our first visit. We got there at 6 pm on a Friday night and had reservations and we were seated in the bar area. It was so noisy, you'd have to shout. We were moved to a quieter location when we requested it. The food we had (fish tacos and burger) were good but over priced for what we got (a burger served with chip?). The appetizer (happy hour portion) of potato skins was $4 and you were given two. While they were good, they were small and not worth the money. The atmosphere of the bar itself was very cool but the rest of our visit, left a lot to be desired. Our service was great though!
The Owl Bar is a great place to meet friends and have have drinks. It is a short menu with light fare (no entrees). Parking is tricky.
Always dependable. Food, service and value good.
