The Barking Dog Ratings and Reviews
Everything from the food down to the service was outstanding. Served by a very kind gentleman who I assume was the manager and also a very nice waitress. It was for their Sunday roast menu which has an amazing choice and is freshly prepared! Overall you get more than you pay for!
Freshly prepared and tasted delicious!
Crab tapas, awesome.
Hobby said fish pie the best ever.
Sea bream and cassoulet inventive.
Cheese plate, good. Although cheeses not explained, so we didn't know what we were eating.
Will definitely go back when next in Belfast.
Our favourite restaurant. We had just returned from a week in Spain and wanted to end the holiday on a high at home. Absolutely first class service and food from start to finish. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi with smoked chicken which was incredible. My partner had the Chicken Supreme - the name says it all. Two espresso martinis later (and another cocktail for the road) we raved about our meal as we walked home. Such a cosy and intimate space - go visit! :)
We arrived at the barking dog and was brought upstairs to a georgous table right by the window. The waiting was hilarious and chatty, giving us great recommendations of the menu and wine. The famous burger was amazing my partner got the tapas option portions were quite small but very taste .
Would definitely recommend and would visit again.! Xo
Lovely evening spent here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Relaxed, cosy and stylishly decorated environment. This restaurant is more upmarket than what we are used to so I was a bit concerned I would feel uncomfortable in it, but I needn't have feared as we were made very welcome. Our server was lovely, friendly and informative about the menu and waiting times and the food was tasty and we'll presented. Would recommend to others and plan to be back soon.
We had Sunday lunch which was very tasty. It was unrushed and the live music was a nice touch. Have arranged to return with our daughter and son in law in the near future. Plenty in the area also to visit afterwards such as History Museum, Botanic Gardens and Queens University. Great way to walk off a great lunch. Bus 8a from City Hall was handy.
Excellent food and superb service. Parking nearby is not a problem. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. What was especially nice was the unobtrusive background music. You knew it was there but only when conversation lulled. Just how it should be. A little gem in the University area of Belfast.
