The Barton Arms
A very enjoyable evening, great food and surroundings. Efficient service. The interior of the building is a treat for anyone who hasn't visited this historic building.
First time in The Bartons Arms. Fabulously old fashioned as a listed building. Booked into Thai restaurant part of the pub, food is amazing. 2 starters, 2 mains & a rice to share £35. Adequate & very filling portions. 100%recommend. Saturday nights have a DJ playing upstairs music through the decades. Free entry from 9pm - 2am. Would definitely go again.
This is the best place to go for Thai food. Lovely atmosphere, staff and fantastic food.
Excellent food and service (and good beer). Thoroughly recommend the set meal for 4
This is a cool place if you like good value Thai food. The service and menu choices are very good. The downside is that despite the beautiful Victorian interior it is a bit too quiet at lunch times. Hopefully there is more of a buzz in the evenings
A stunning restaurant within an authentic building full of history and charm.
The service was exceptional. Waiting staff were prompt, polite and helpful throughout. Food was delicious, fresh and authentic.
Would highly recommended the Barton’s Arms experience.
It is recommended to book a table on Villa match days. An excellent atmosphere with good food and real ale in a classic pub.
I have long liked the Barton's. An Oakham Ales outlet so if you like your beer clear it's a good place to go. Short bus service from Birmingham. Friendly place which does beer festivals.
Ok could do more dark beers and used to do bottled Belgium which made it excellent.
Thai restaurant incorporated into pub with separate dining area. Does parties up stairs.
Great food. Great beer. Great service. Great pub. :)
Our first visit but certainly not our last. Excellent food, super friendly service and great prices and a wide selection of drinks available.
Fantastic food and service with great value. Highly recommend.
Absolutely gorgeous Thai food. Service was excellent.
Excellent, authentic delicious Thai food, certainly the best in Birmingham, probably one of the best in the UK. Fantastic old 'Brummie' pub complete with original décor and fittings, serving Oakham and guest ales. Lovely, helpful, friendly staff. Not a bad word to say about any of it, a truly wonderful pub & Thai restaurant.
Lovely original example of Birmingham History, food was superb and in a very busy restaurant on a Saturday evening it was served within 10 minutes... We had the old rosie cider with our meal...
Always excellent staff service and great food. Highly recommended.
Great Food. Great Drinks.
Great Service. Great Night.
Lovely food, lots to choose from, will definitely return!
I have eaten there before but wasn’t happy with the service on aFiriday because I had ordered Tempura veg and prawns for main , when my starter came it was tempura prawns ; the waitress insisted that I had ordered prawns ; she did offer to change them but by that time everybody else had their starters so I kept the prawns, it’s a good job I like prawns
What can you say apart from truly great Oakham Ales, Thai food and architecture
Excellent food, great service and great beer, well worth a visit. We'll definitely be returning.
Good food and great atmosphere. Lovely old building we enjoyed exploring
Very freindly atmosphere for us away football fans. The food, beer and service
Exceptional venue. The food is prepared to a very high quality and served in a pleasant manner. The beers, from Oakham Brewery, are a delight to find with the full range being available most of the time.
The pub itself is a gem and it’s ornate tiling and glass need seeing to believe.
Great evening we will be back soon. Menu superb, beer top class, gin - my wife loved it
Absolutely brilliant. Great food and excellent service. Great range of wierd and wonderful beers.
Plus has an extensive vegan menu.
Another brilliant meal in stunning surroundings - great service
Excellent food and service, as ever, at The Barton Arms.
Highly recommended for its excellent Thai food.
I have been to the Barton Arms a few times and each time I have the same meal. (I want to try different things but this is the meal that makes me want to drive 35 minutes from home for! Chicken Cashew Nut) my friend has something different each time and has not been disappointed.
The veggie starter platter is amazing, I love the mushroom toast. However, the deepfried veggies and onion rings could do with not being so greasy :( only thing which is off putting.
Food always comes out hot and well presented. Always acknowledged by waitresses and waiters. Good price too.
The venue itself is lovely. Nice traditional bar theme throughout. High ceilings. Grand staircase. Function room upstairs.
Overall. My favourite thai restaurant.
Fantastic tiled pub decor, beautifully restored by Camra and hospitably run by a really lovely Thai couple.
Beautiful building, very good food, excellent service, very good real ales. well worth a visit. A car park adjacent.
Very nice lots Christmas parties around us . We had great food and what a stunning building!!
Always excellent food, ale and service. We go as often as we can, either as a couple, with family or friends.
Wonderful beautiful historic building
Lovely service and accommodated a last minute addition
Food was tasty and the service was very good considering it was very busy.
Had a great night the setting is amazing lovely and friendly staff and the food is outstanding a must try place can't wait to go back
As ever best value thai food. Beer excellent ambiance fab. Our regular go to when we go to birmingham.
We have always had vegetarian or vegan food and the food is always delicious
Popped here for dinner and a beer before attending the Villa ground V Forest. Great place and food. Villa fans were spot on as well. Highly recommended.
The food and atmosphere at the restaurant is wonderful, the staff can't do enough for you and are always very friendly, the chef personally comes out to ask if you enjoyed the meal, which is always a nice touch as he's a talented man in the art of Thai cuisine. The menu is large enough but isn't so big that its daunting to people new to thai food, also the drinks menu is quite adequate for a few drinks with family a quiet date or a big get together with drinks flowing. All in I, nor anyone I know has ever had any issues with this bar/resturaunt truly a gem.
