An historic pub, with a Minton-tiled interior which needs to be seen. Excellent ale selection from Oakham, and incredulity Thai food. It's not in the most salubrious of areas, but it's well worth a visit.

A must for all who love real ale, Thai food and magnificent interior architecture. The service ambience and menu choice unparalleled.
Just a tiny criticism; some of the "spicy" dishes were very hot indeed and warnings would have been appreciated.

We was recommend this place for a Thai meal, was impressed with the building & the bar is excellent.
One of our main dishes (Scallops & King Prawns) was cold, it was sent back & then came back tasting of pork.
Also as we was the only diners in the restaurant this was very disappointing, the waitress was very apologetic but no offer of a discount was offered.
It was a shame as we looked forward to this place.

Marvellous Thai food and great Oakhams beer would be more than enough but we're then entertained by the wonderful Honky Tonk Rose. Fabulous evening.

Came with 2 friends and all had something different 2 eat. Friends meals came out together and looked presentable and good on the eye. Mine came out about 10 minutes later with no garnish and looked a lot more unpresentable than the other 2.

At first glance we were like - oh my goodness is this even a restaurant? Where have we come? But yes - it is at the back of an old fashioned real ale pub. (In a. Besutiful tiled room). The food is lovely, the service was friendly and efficient and we picked a tasty bottle of wine. However - any mention of fine dining needs to be removed from this site. I’d go here again but with friends or for an impromptu we can’t be bothered to cook meal out. Our experience was a little out of context for a valentines meal while on a weekend away.

I used to work very close to Barton Arms, so it was a default place for nice lunches and after work drinks. I've always loved the food and friendly service. I moved abroad four years ago, but whenever I'm in a Birmingham for a visit I try to get the old gang together. The food that I've been craving is still incredible. My favourite member of staff was still there with her big smile and there were some new faces too. It was a great night with awesome friends, good memories, plus wonderful food and service.

Amazing food! Lots of choice. (Even better if they removed the poo track from the prawn tempura, but that was minor the great food made up for it) Decor a little dated but great value for money. Visited with a party of 25. Was seated all together. Wait for food wasn’t too long and staff were pleasant. Worth a visit! Will definitely visit again.

I've been to Barton Arms a few times now and the Thai food never disappoints! I ordered the tom yum soup with king prawns - delicious! Not for the light hearted as it has a real spicy kick. For mains, my partner and I ordered panang curry and red Thai curry - again delicious! The food is quite pricey however. If the prices were slightly lower, I definitely would make more frequent visits.

Have been going to the Bartons Arms for quite a few years now and we are never disappointed. The Thai food is always fantastic as is the service. The Oakhams ales too are exceptional. Beer is well kept. I would never bother with any of the over rated and too expensive so called authentic Thai restaurants in the city centre. Worth travelling out of the city centre to visit. Just a short taxi ride.

Had a great evening at the Barton’s Arms. Great ambience and food. Makes a change to go somewhere a little bit different. Loved the decor. Can just imagine Laurel and Hardy here all those years ago. Highly recommend.
