The Bell at Ramsbury
Running the kitchen is Duncan Jones, former head chef at Marco Pierre White’s flagship pub The Yew Tree Inn, who follows our belief in sourcing ingredients locally and using the highest quality, traceable meats and ingredients. Think succulent loin of Ramsbury Estate venison and pan fried fillet of gurnard and save some room for spiced caramel panna cotta or sticky toffee pudding.
Let our wine connoisseurs guide you on complimentary wine choices.
Your perfect destination for a romantic or family meal, a business lunch or a warming Sunday roast.
Service was slow even though we were early in the evening with only 3 tables occupied at the time - 6:45
Food was good but rather sparse and very expensive even though we are regular diners elsewhere
Would not return
Lovely,yummy food,in a great place.Superb staff,who always go the extra mile.
Service was slow. We had to find a member of staff for help. Waiter forgot to serve bread - given after starter. Food excellent. Staff polite. Restaurant perfect setting.
Very good food, welcoming atmosphere & very good & friendly service. Will come again.
Lovely place.Very friendly staff.Good food and drinks.
Good pre-dinner ambience in bar
Excellent local Bitter
Excellent attentiveness by Manager
Restaurant ambience - nice balance between pomp and relax
Food - imaginative and good quality
Wine - excellent merlot by the glass
Noise level - good ambient music; slightly noisy table of young guys who seemed unaware of other guests
Many years ago I was a frequent visitor to The Bell, which I loved, but have not been for over 10 years. This was a special treat for my wife, who has never been. Sadly I was very disappointed.
- the ambience was poor, very rowdy
- after after a few minutes choosing our meal we realized we had different menus, my wife choosing a dish from the wrong one
- the wine I requested was not available, though still on the list
- my wife's chicken breast was in a lump with a bone in it, and was very tough
- bread sauce should be available with chicken, but it wasn't
- the potatoes were over cooked and very hard.
In the circumstances I consider the pricing to be grossly inflated
It pains me to say all this, but it is just a measure of my great disappointment with a pub I had always held in such high esteem.
I have never been to Ramsbury and decided to go to The Bell after reading reviews. The food was first class even thou I was apprehensive with the cost of the menu but I was more than happy to pay those prices for the quality of the food. Service was on point and felt at ease the whole time I was there.
Beautiful food and would highly recommend to friends and family
Excellent choice of meat, fish and vegetarian food.
All really well cooked. Delicious!
Good kids menu too.
I wish that we lived closer. We were travelling back from a 3 week holiday. This was the best meal that we had and we had some really good ones.
We had breakfast the following morning too. This was equally as good.
Service was rather slow. When we arrived there was one other couple. By the time we received our food, it was nearly full. I couldn't decide if was down to the kitchen or the waiting staff. The food was good but our waiter didn't suggest any side dishes so the meal lacked veg/salad.
Always a very enjoyable experience. Good food, very pleasant surroundings and friendly and professional staff. A real gem!
Food excellent, beer and wine equally good and ambience delightful. Service, as usual, top notch.
The Bell always offers an excellent standard of food and service. I’ve eaten here several times before a will continue to in the future.
Outstanding food and beer from the Ramsbury brewery.
