Had a great time. The food was excellent our waitress was very helpful and fast. An asset to the Bickley. We will definitely be retuning for their excellent steaks
Went for Sunday lunch. Food serviced warm and got cold quite quickly. Service could have been better as we asked for cutlery and it told him 3 attempt to get them. The pork and lamb was a bit fatty.
I did like the venue and the outside looked lovely. Will try again maybe when it is better weather and can enjoy the garden.
Lovely Pub/Restaurant. Great menu and specials in a relaxed atmosphere. Great for a Sunday Roast too. Easy parking just outside at the weekends.
Having been to the Bickley a couple of times before and being really impressed we thought we would book for Valentines and am so glad we did.
Fantastic choice from the menu with specials added daily for variety. What was super impressive was the fact that the prices had not been inflated for Valentines and a lovely touch was they presented the ladies with a single rose when the bull was requested
Christina our waitress was friendly welcoming and we had a lovely night.
This pub ticks all the boxes as far as we are concerned and as well as returning we tell all our friends and they too have now become part of The Bickley Fan club
We were very disappointed with the service. I don't think we will be coming again.
The service was a little slow, which was evident when the starters arrived, they looked lovely but not hot, a bit on the warm side for myself and my guests. Asked what the occasion was for when booking but mention from our waitress acknowledging that it was for my partners 50th birthday, we've been to The Bickle a few times now and was just overall disappointed with the food and drink service whilst eating, but will visit again to give another try.
we love the bickley for sunday lunch, great family pub. First time I have been midweek for lunch, the venue is great but the open table booking had not been received when we arrived which would have been awkward had it been busy, that also happened once on a sunday. The sirloin steak I had was a bit chewy to be honest, when I left half of it and the waitress asked I did let her know but that was it really. But it is a nice pub and the beer was good.
Sunday dinner rushed and mediocre not as tasty as it used to be
Fantastic food, excellent value, lovely attentive waitress. Loved the warm cosy ambience and have already booked to come back for a family event.
We had a lovely meal and the staff were very helpful. 😊
I was slightly let down by the Bickley on this visit. The service was quite slow despite them not being particularly busy. We waited ages for our drinks and the bill at the end. My fries were cold and my husband order fries too but got chunky chips but to rectify this we weren't charged for our side order. There was a terrible draft, either from a door somewhere or the aircon - not what you want at this time of year! I will go back and hopefully have a better experience as it's normally very good.
We love this place! Our go to for meals with friends, amazing in the summer and lovely winter place also! Great for large group bookings and lovely cosy pub!
Great place to eat with the family
Great local pub/restaurant, with good food and nice staff
Such a beautiful pub/restaurant A++++
Will definitely go back, expensive but get what you pay for... beautifully decorated for the lead-up to Christmas aswell...!!!
Great food and value as always at the Bickley, service was a bit 'hit & miss' and I would certainly be avoiding the place on a Friday night in future as they had different music playing in three different areas that was all clashing, ruined an otherwise great night.
Would not recommend going for a meal on the weekend in the evening.
Went for Christmas get together with friends. there was loud music coming from bar, also there was a party going also, could not here what anyone was saying as the music was so loud.
Poor table service, waited a while to be served, food wasn't great.
Host was very keen to sit us at our table and then it took 30 mins for anyone to take our order.
Nachos were disgusting- squeeze cheap cheese on them
Definitely would not return
Everything was OK at The Bickley other than the meals (all roast meals served) were cold . The service was pretty good considering it was very busy but clearly the meals had sat too long waiting to be delivered to us. I don’t like the policy of two hours and your off the table .
The restaurant was lovely, but very noisy from bar. There was also a draught every time the door opened upstairs.
The bar seemed to attract a young audience.
I wanted to go for a roast and not all places do roast chicken but the bickley do however on arrival i am told theres no roast chicken left. So i end up having sea bass... definately not what i went there for. Its a big pub, very loud and even though the restaurant area is seperate it was still loud and we had a loud group of people sitting behind. The fact the tables of two are situated around a chesterfield is something i find strange, who wants to sink into a sofa as they eat? And when it came to my dessert being delivered, the waiter slammed it down on the table infront of the wrong person and rushed off, by this point i just had to laugh about how poor i found the entire experience. I wont go again or recommend it to anyone.
We had to wait 40min for food which was ok but not great; we were then told that we had to leave in 10min as this is when the table was booked for again- so we were essentially asked to leave; I got a soup but no spoon?, we asked for drinks and had to remind the waitress of them and they came late;
My hubby and I visited on Saturday (2nd visit) to celebrate an anniversary. We were seated straight away but then waited 20 mins for a waitress to take our drinks order. (She was trying to serve so many people (no blame on her at all). We then waited an extra a 20 mins for our drink. The service was very slow in general not a problem as we were not in a rush but we didn’t expect to wait so long for a drink. We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu we said yes, we had the menu for half an hour then no one came over so we just got the bill.
It wouldn’t put me off off coming to your restaurant again and in fact I have a big group booking booked for Dec. The food was fantastic.
The food was excellent. However the service was bad.
We were shown to our table and given menus. We then had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for the waitress arrive ask us what drinks we would like. we ordered two Kirs and our first course with wine. After another 15 minutes the waitress returned with our wine and said nobody knew how to prepare a Kir. We stayed with the wine. Throughout the meal there was a long wait between courses. There seemed no coordination in collecting our plates giving us desert menus and taking orders. When we finally got our coffees and asked for the bill that came within minutes.
Whilst we were waiting we realised that our waitress seemed to be waiting on most of the tables in the part of the restaurant where we were and three of them had parties of eight or more.
The problem was that there was a shortage of waiting staff to the amount of tables and people.
As a regular visitor to the Bickley, I was extremely disappointed on this occasion. Myself and my daughter both order the lamb shank with mash and red wine jus . The lamb was tasteless, the mash tasted like smash and the jus tasted like a very watery gravy. To be fair the price of our meal was refunded but we were very disappointed.
A very warm, friendly pub/ restaraunt. The entrance is cost and inviting, the log fires in the big fireplaces are lovely!
The menu is varied and the Sunday roast is the best I’ve had in a pub and for a tenner a head you can’t go wrong!
Nice cosy venue with lots of space and a lovely beer garden with lights in the evening.
Staff are great here, very good service. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Great pub restaurant for Sunday lunch and catching up with friends.
We went for Sunday roast, it was excellent... and we are quite difficult! Definitely recommend the place.
I was disappointed in comparison with last year. Very average.
Booked to take mum for 72nd Birthday, all in all very nice, the roasts were all perfectly done and the lamb delicious! Even mum had no complaints! (very rare)
Main eating areas are up and down stairs so bear this in mind if you're going with anyone with mobility issues.
Staff were very friendly and knowledgable, great in helping 9yr old niece choose from the limited Sunday menu.
The pub itself is very nice, looks to have been recently decorated and I can imagine it's lovely in the summer with all the trees and outside seating areas. Right next to Chislehurst Station so parking can be a little bit of a problem though we were luck on the day (Sunday)
Would definitley return for either a weekday meal or Sunday roast again.
Great food! Lovely staff very friendly.
We ordered drinks and they took 20 minutes to bring them then ordered food and was brought within 5 minutes (a roast on a Sunday) and wasn't hot enough. The menu was different to online one. No vegetarian roast available along with other meals I saw on the online menu. Disaappointed
Lovely pub! Visited on a Sunday for a roast. The roast dinner was fabulous! Nice and hot, delicious potatoes, lovely dessert.
Has a nice beer garden for kids to enjoy.
Sat down at 5.10, at 5.25 I got up and asked waited to take drink order. She took food order at same time, we ordered warm bread and dips. Half an hour later we were served burnt toast. Waited another half hour for her to clear plates, wanted to complain but she didn't ask how it was, despite ¾ of food left on plates. A further half hour, mains turned up. My partner had to ask for a knife and fork to eat it. It was cold. We waited 20 mins more for table to be cleared and ask for bill. It didn't happen so rang a cab and told waitress we'd be waiting outside and to bring bill there. She didn't, cab turned up and we left. Please send us the bill as we're never coming back: utter shambles. If you don't have enough staff, you need to reduce demand to a manageable rate, not keep letting people in and giving them all a poor experience.
Much to noisy, young people 'PUB" I prefer a quieter environment whilst eating my meal.
I hadn't been to The Bickley for a while, but decided to pay a visit after I received an email confirming it had been revamped to become a steakhouse. What a disappointment.
I understand it was a Saturday night, but my friend and I were seated in front of a group of about 20, including children, who were loud and brash.
Our food arrived quite quickly and whilst it was well presented, my rib-eye steak was too raw in the middle (I asked for it medium) and very tough. My friend commented that the burger was good.
At around 9pm, a group of young very loud girls left the bar and were seated behind us. By this stage I couldn't hear myself think and we left promptly. We were seated in the restaurant after all, not the bar.
The only positive of the evening was the waitress who was very attentive.
A real shame as I live locally and had planned to come here more regularly.
The service was really bad. It took ages to get onto our booked table as the party before wouldn’t leave, then it took a whole hour to get some drinks, and a further hour to get some food. We were literally starving. When you have an 8pm booking you really expect to eat before 10pm! There were 8 of us so it wasn’t a huge party, but it was a special dinner for a 50th and it was frankly a big disappointment. Won’t be rushing back I’m afraid.
Food was good but it was so noisy conversation was almost impossible
A birthday dinner which was very much enjoyed by both of us. Good choice of food and I can especially recommend the sea bass. Excellent service and no intrusive "musak" so we could have a decent conversation. Will definitely return here, either for dinner or lunch in the bar.
Sunday roast was superb! The cheeseboard was ridiculously large though
