   Took a while to be greeted outside and were then given a table right by the kitchen exit which was noisy so we asked to be moved to a quieter area. Our young waitress who then served us was very pleasant although it was quite difficult to find someone to pay eventually!

   Not an enjoyable experience. Under staffed so our drinks order didn’t go through and we weren’t give side plates for our starter. We were not told at the time of booking or on arrival that there was a large party going on outside just metres from our table. It ended up being so loud we could not talk to each other and had to leave. Had a delicious starter though but unfortunately not enough to make up for other factors that ruined our visit. We will come back as have had other enjoyable visits but hope things would have improved.

   Probably the worst meal in years. On arrival we had a couple drunk lads come up to us at reception and say ‘don’t bother waiting, they’ll take ages to get to you’, and to be fair they were bang on! Our table was horrendous and right next to a blaring birthday party so moved to a table that felt like the inside of a retirement home. Flys were everywhere and we were constantly being approached with the wrong food, which was incredibly frustrating. We ordered two burgers and when one was served, a small bug crawled out from underneath the bun, and opposed to apologising and offering to deduct it from the bill, a new one was cooked while the other was stood on the side for 20 minutes, which ended up resembling more a rock than a burger. About halfway through the meal, without any prompt, a waitress apologised for the meal and service which was confirmation of just how bad the Black Swan was. As the meal came to an end, it felt less like an enjoyable evening out and more of an endurance test as to how much bad service and food you can take. We were given a 30% reduction on our bill, however in hindsight this really wasn’t enough. I wouldn’t recommend this pub to anyone and pray that management see this message. If you’re fancying a really rubbish expensive evening out with poor service and I’m A Celebrity esque food then I couldn’t recommend the Black Swan enough.

    Celebrating the birth of our first child. They gave us exactly what we requested - table for 4, outside, in the shade, space for a pram. It was perfect. Service was fast. Service was polite. Sunday roast was fantastic (recommend the pork but all were great). Price is competitive. Best roast I’ve had in Surrey.

    We had another excellent evening at The Black Swan. We were looked after beautifully by both the management and Jack and Yasmin. Yummy fish pie and really enjoyed sharing the camembert starter.

    Lovely evening meal sat in the large Garden, we all had fish and chips which was delicious & our waitress was so lovely, chatty and attentive…great customer service! 👍🏻 Def.worth a visit!

    This was our second visit and it was even better than the first! Decked area seating very pleasant, and service was charming. The food was totally delicious and our only complaint was the quantity, because it was so good we didn't want to leave it!

    The chicken I was served was looking a bit undercooked in my opinion but I was told twice that was the way it was done. I was a bit worried about it so did not eat all of it. We were given complimentary sweets but would have preferred a replacement main course. My partners meal was good.

I hope I can reassure you on the Flat iron Chicken, its is half a chicken containing not only breast but also the leg and thigh meat which has a different colour and texture.     Unfortunately our experience was to put it mildly not that good. We have been before two or three years ago and it was really great but this time it was poor. I got the impression they had other things on their mind particularly an evening barbecue in the garden. The starter was nice but I suspect that had already been prepared earlier. But they got my wife's main course wrong and that was after we had discussed it in great detail. They then ignored us and didn't ask us whether we wanted a dessert or even a coffee. In fact they then came up with the credit card machine loaded with the cost when we hadn't even asked for the bill. So when we did ask for the bill the price changed as they had forgotten to add the service charge. I suspect something seriously went wrong but nobody apologised which was really bad because we drove over 50 miles to get there. It was like a Basil Forty show on steroids So until they get their act together you shouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Sorry but it just has to be said!

    Generally a pleasant place to eat. Good food, generally good selection of beers and wine, acceptable prices. Only issues are 1. the main courses on the menu have not changed in many months, a problem for regular diners and 2. our beer of choice, Shere Drop, is frequently not available.

    Food was outstanding, waiter recommended a sharing starter for me and my friend, which we had and weren’t disappointed. Very friendly service, very attentive. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and go back.

    The seat (booth) was so close to the table one side that my dad didn’t fit.. and it was not very comfortable for those that did fit as the table was so close and seats wooden upright; the range of food was quite limited and I thought quite expensive, we eat out quite a lot locally. We had a nice evening, it had a pleasant atmosphere, parking easy and service was good.

    Have been to this place on several occasions but my last experience was not the best. The chicken starter was very very salty and should have mentioned it at the time. Some of the items we wanted on the menu were not available. The drinks were very good and they allow dogs. Tried to ring to ask if dogs were allowed but got no answer and had tried numerous times to get through. Hoping it was a one off

    Friendly and attentive service, despite a hot and busy Sunday lunchtime. We had to reduce numbers at the last minute due to covid but the staff were very accommodating and found us a perfect alternative on the terrace. Good choice of food - roasts very good for those who had it, but lovely fish and veggie options for others. Such a convenient location for meeting up with family, and a very enjoyable relaxing afternoon.

    Short staffed, very slow service and our over-salted Caesar salad was flooded in dressing. The manager did her utmost to compensate for the lack of staff and was completely rushed off her feet. It was a very disappointing first visit.
