Had leek and mushroom pie but was not at all what I expected. Leeks too big, a lot of mash and not much else. Quite disappointing. Followed by a tiny piece of cheese cake.

The melted Camembert sharer to start was nice, however both burger buns were burnt and so was the sticky Toffee Pudding dessert. Service was pretty good and it's a nice location but the food did let it down and we left fairly disappointed.

Great Sunday roast. Very busy yet you could have a private conversation. Loads of parking, professional and friendly staff. Highly recommend and the food was. Really good.

The food was excellent. We all had venison and it was superb. The orange steamed pudding took me back to my childhood although I must admit it surpassed my mother's cooking. A very satisfying and truly gourmet meal.

The staff were great and moved our table to a far nicer area of the restaurant, at their suggestion, as there was a raucous group next to us! The food was good, particularly the venison and the vegetables were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. If booking I would recommend asking for a table on the original side of the pub and near the fire - far more atmosphere.

The restaurant was dirty with cobwebs adorning the ceiling beams and eaves. The staff were polite and professional, but clearly understaffed and service was slow. My burger was overcooked and dry. This place has deteriorated from what it once was.

The starters were very good and unusual. Three out of four of us had main course burgers which were very dry. We were also asked if we wanted bacon on them without being told there would be a charge. The indoor seating is comfortable and well spaced out. Noise level high, not helped by barking dogs inside. Overall, however, a good place to eat.

Generally a very lovely experience with great food, the noise levels did become somewhat elevated due to a number of female guests becoming somewhat carried away but this does not reflect badly on the establishment; we just got a but unlucky.

Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived but we were given seats while we waited. It was very busy, as always, and staff seemed a little distracted but still pleasant . My roast beef was terrific - the best in the district- but the other three had roast chicken which they all said was rather “solid”. Prices here don’t seem to have risen too much and overall a very enjoyable Sunday lunch.

A very large pub restaurant on a busy Sunday. We found the booth a bit crushed for five adults. Next time would request a circular table which is more accommodating. Very friendly service from our waitress.

The restaurant was moderately busy for a lunchtime and our party of four were greeted nicely and menus provided. However it took 45 minutes from being seated to our starters arriving. Further after a longish wait for our main courses my wife's and our friends food arrived at least 5 minutes before mine. There was no apology or explanation. I also had to go to the bar to find someone to give us our bill and pay. Having said that the food was excellent and the waiting staff were very pleasant and friendly.
