Well cooked food with a good choice and nice ambiance.

As usual a great meal cooked by a great chef and served by a great team - would thoroughly recommend the Blue Ball.

Great venue, really nice atmosphere. The only negative point, I had the burger and it was overcooked and hard. The service was amazing and if I'm even in Walton I would give it another try.

Great food, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. This is a real gem.

We treated some friends from Cyprus on a visit. We ordered our food starters and main course then were told that the no pies and no sausages and mash.2 people ordered the roast pork, 2 ordered Indian meets Italian. The chicken was supposed to be marinated for 24 hours in tandoori spices plus all the other ingredients. no coriander, lime, the pasta was like rubber, the naan bread was cold and like shoe leather, the chicken was burnt and like charcoal on one end asked for parmesan, grated cheddar arrived, we ordered some bread that did not arrive ( although it was on the bill, later taken off.) asked for apple sauce the jar was empty, told waitress who brought new jar (no plate or spoon with it). we did tell waitress that the pasta was very poor (no reaction) should have complained, but when treating friends it is embarrassing,

The Blue Ball delivers excellent food at a decent price and have super friendly and helpful staff. We always enjoy ourselves when we eat there. Try it - you won't be disappointed

We keep coming back to the Blue Ball as it is such a good place to enjoy good food, great service and a nice environment. This was a real find and we'll keep coming back.

Great location, service and ambience. Beef was a bit chewy but you can’t have everything!! Lovely play area for the kids too!

Booked for 12.30 table was not ready the manager invited us to have a completely drink. He came for us after a few minutes.
Food was very good. Liked vegetables were served up in a dish to help yourself.
Waiting staff were on the button. Very obliging.

We went for my wife’s birthday and had a brilliant time. It was a bit quiet being midweek but it suited us. The food was delicious and ample portions. Service was great and very friendly. Will definitely go back.

Had a very nice Sunday lunch , but found they were very stingy with the vegetables , there were 8 of us and only 2 dishes of veg came up, asked for more and l more came still not enough .They served a gin and tonic in a tumbler appalling lucky we had already had one so tipped into a proper glass. The noice level was ok but there was a large table of parent all with children under 5 which we love to see but one of them had bought the game with a hammer nocking in pegs , not a very intelligent toy to take where people are enjoying a Sunday lunch , overall they need to take some tips from No 12 with the amount of veg to serve .Even the waiter said they are often stingy with the veg !

I booked as I was working locally and wanted a meal that wasn’t microwaved in the hotel. The food was extremely well prepared and cooked and the staff were so friendly and genuinely interested. I shall be visiting again.

Would absolutely recommend The Blue Ball to a friend - the food was excellent and reasonably priced, in a very pleasant setting. The only negative was that our group was sat slap bang in the middle of the restaurant and were constantly being walked past by staff and patrons, and often had patrons waiting to be seated crowded around our table. It had us feeling a little like we were in the way.

Such a lovely pub with a relaxed cosy feel. Friendly staff, amazing menu with lots of choice and delicious food! Will be returning soon!

Dined with friends - all great. Loved also that we were in the dining room.

This was the second time we visited the Blue Bell and we were happy as the first time. The food, service and quality was great. We loved it.

First visit. Very good menu with great variety. The food was great and the service was courteous and fast. It was a very pleasant experience and I will be back.

TOOK SOME FRIENDS FOR LUNCH AS WE ARE DUE TO LEAVE THE COUNTY IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. SO MUCH THOUGHT HAS BEEN PUT INTO THE DECOR ESPECIALLY THE LOOS.... SUPERB!!!

Took my mother for her 80th birthday and had a lovely meal. Our 10 year old twins ate everything that was put in front of them which is high praise indeed. Lovely food, very friendly staff and decor with great character. We will be back!

The service was fantastic and the waiter friendly and helpful. The main course was lovely but the dessert was a little disappointing. Overall though the Blue Bull is value for money, we just would not order the same dessert.

Excellent food. Great setting. Slow service by the kitchen staff, but the waiter informed us timely of delay and offered complimentary coffee & icecreams for the kids. Despite the inconvenience, we will surely visit again.

We had a delicious reunion lunch there on Thursday 18 July and did not really have the inclination to study the menu so we all ordered the recommended pie...it was the best choice and realistically priced! The library/study ambience gives it an air of awed mystery...necessary to ohhh and ahhh in hushed tones while you enjoy the delicious homemade meal!

The access to this venue is excellent. One of our group is elderly and a flat access from the car park is a real plus. The staff were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, the fish and chips were wonderful. I will definitely be visiting again.

This is a beautifully appointed pub restaurant in a lovely setting, light and yet cosy inside and with a great garden including its unique private garden huts (cabana style). Particularly nice on a sunny day or evening. Friendly staff and tasty, well presented food- we had the biggest steak and an inventive vegetarian burger so all angles covered...will certainly return.

Was quite disappointed, service was very slow which was explained by telling us they were short staffed due to he fact several staff were off at the same time. One of the meals we ordered came with sweet potato fries but we weren’t told they were unavailable until the meal arrived at the table, very disappointing. I ordered the tuna niose which on the menu said was served pink, it arrived cooked right through which again was very disappointing.

Although I would not necessarily recommend this restaurant it suited our needs due to its location which was central. The welcome was not ecstatic, the tables were sticky, some were wobbly and some of the chairs were very uncomfortable. The food choice was adequate and my dish was quite tasty. Those who had fish and chips commented that their fish was not piping hot. We may well go again due to the location but there are other restaurants nearby which would also fulfil this brief.

The fish was tasteless with water coming from the inside of the batter.
It was obvious that the fish was not de-frosted enough before it was
cooked.
My guest, who also had the fish course, was very disappointed as
she was from Australia and had looked forward to a good English
fish and chip lunch.
On a positive note the batter was OK.
I will not recommend your restaurant.

Excellent and friendly service. Nice ambience. Prices reasonable. Will definitely go back again.

The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. I'm a veggie and it's one of the only places around to offer a veggie roast on a Sunday and the other veggie stuff on the menu is good. The Vegan burger is really delicious.
My only gripe is the fact that some of the food is a bit expensive - for example, the Superfood salad is a great price, but to add a bit of tofu was another £4.95 which is a bit steep.

Very disappointed especially with the food. Very limited menu ! No atmosphere inside or outside.

Excellent food, very attentive and friendly staff, pub nice and clean and tidy, happy to recommend to friends.

We visited the Blue Ball for the first time this weekend. The Sunday lunch was excellent and fantastic service too. The play area was also a handy way of keeping our toddler amused between courses! We’ll definitely be back again

We had a warm welcome at the arrival.
The service was professional and attentive.
The food tasty and value for money.

I made the reservation for a late Sunday lunch about a month in advance. I'd tried to walk in to the Blue Ball for Sunday lunch a few months ago but was told it was impossible without a reservation. The pub has won awards so I was very keen to have Sunday lunch there. The decor is warm and cosy.

My friend and I both ordered the trio of roasts and my parents both ordered the lamb roast. The beef in the trio was wonderfully tender and pink. Sadly both the chicken and pork were dry, and all the meats and yorkshire puddings were a bit cold and lacked seasoning. The vegetables were warm and the gravy was hot and tasty.

Service was a bit slow and disorganised. We were told that there would be approx. a 25 min wait on food despite having a reservation. My parents' initial drinks order was dispatched twice, so we sent the second ones back. When the food arrived, my mother ordered a glass of red wine to have with the meal, and my friend ordered a pint of beer. Half way through our meals the waiter came over to check if everything was ok, and we chased up the drinks order as they still hadn't arrived. Three of us ordered dessert after the meal, which arrived in good time and were all tasty.

All in all, sadly the Blue Ball did not live up to my expectations. Although, I do wonder if the food would have been better if we'd had lunch earlier in the day.
