Haven’t been for quite a while but it has got even better. There were five of us, we sat in a booth. Lovely atmosphere . Food was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. All were very kind going over and beyond.
Absolutely lovely and can’t wait to go again.
I was rather disappointed with dinner at Blue Boar. The outdoor table settings are nice. However for what you pay and expect, the food was below unsatisfactory. The chips were cold, I ordered the homemade jack daniels ribs which your expect to be mouth watering delicious but turned out to be extremely disappointing. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item off the menu. The service was exceptionally slow provided that the pub was not overly busy. I would expect a place like the Blue Boar to have outstanding food and service.
Always enjoy going to Blue Boar - it's very friendly and always good food
Booked outside , but so hot we had to sit inside, very flexible with seating arrangements and food delicious .
Food is always excellent as is service with a smile.
Food was nice. It took way too long to order our food and wait for drinks though.
This was a very busy Friday evening so it was difficult at times to catch hold of a member of staff. Other than that this is a great restaurant!
I returned to The Blue Boer for my sisters birthday, something as a family we do often. Admittedly we have not frequented here in quite sometime. The place clearly has changed and now caters for the younger generation. As we were in the middle bank, on the other side of the kitchen, the right bank was taken up with young girls and boys who were excitable and kept banging the back of the seat, so if I was drinking at the wrong moment it spilt down my face. The left bank was taken with young men, who were so loud I could not talk or understand my sister who was sitting beside me. We were in the middle of our main course at this point. My sister reported this to one of your unmasked waitresses, who's response was very bolshy " what do you want me to do tell them to shut up and lose my job". Clearly you now cater for the younger generation and that is where you earn the most money.
To say that we are disappointed is an understatement. We decided not to have a dessert and pay the bill. As we are now aware of the type of establishment it has now become we will not frequent again. We talk with our feet.
Went on a Tuesday night for dinner. We had 3 courses but sadly when it came to our dessert (sticky toffee pudding) both of ours were burnt black at the bottom and were really dry. We ended up having to send them back unfortunately, I don’t know how this got unnoticed when served. We noticed how the two tables nearest us had also sent food back at some point. All our other food was nice and served really hot, the ambiance outside was lovely but overall the meal was nothing memorable and was disappointed by the dessert.
Staff very nice, as was the food. Loved the ambiance, music and buzz of happy people in the really pretty outside covered dining area. Lovely way to spend a few hours
Great all round venue, Food and service. The outdoor Marquee is a great addition to the main restaurant offering
Great food and great setting. We sat outside on a nice warm day.
Great server & lovely experience. Great value for money!
Slow service, London prices, uncomfortable chairs, average food
Food as,always was excellent staff and waitresses all very helpful
Thank you 🙂
The food was very tasty and well presented. The staff were courteous and friendly as they always are!
Good food n choices. Staff inconsistent in wearing their masks tho so bit concerning otherwise all brill
Good atmosphere, great seating and food was really nice. Service was also very good.
We had some lovely food at Blue Boar and their outdoor dining area was beautiful
We booked a table for 7.30 on a Tuesday evening sitting outside. It was very pleasant. The only problem was that the kitchen stopped at 8.30 and we felt rushed to eat and leave. One of our party wanted a dessert and we were told that wasn’t possible as kitchen was closed! It was a shame really as the food was very nice and the vibe was enjoyable.
The service wasn’t great. We had to ask for drinks menus, to ask to order and they brought the food out at different times rather than waiting until the tables food was ready. They forgot my father in laws food twice (starter and main). Lots of staff inside by the bar but no waiter / waitresses waiting outside to see if we needed anything. No waiter / waitress seemed to have a deviated area to serve so we kept getting missed. Food was nice but service let it down
Did not feel safe as none of the waiting staff were wearing masks. We asked if we could a
have a table outside as there was hardly any ventilation, told there wasn’t any available even though 2 table were empty for the whole we were there. Service was bad and the service was poor.
we were eating outside in an open sided awning with a glass roof it was very hot as it was a sunny day the booking was on the 31st may for lunch. the service for drinks was ok but the food service was poor vegetables were forgotten chips were ordered but boiled potatoes were served icecreams were ordered and two were never recieved there were other things as well I realise the serving staff were young people but their training is poor. I await your comments. Jack Tancer
Absolutely brilliant. The singer was an unexpected addition and got everyone engaged.
Great Food Good Service and Great atmosphere! We will be back.
Always great food and efficient service
Will return soon
Lovely Sunday roast. Although we sat inside, the seating outside is nicely decorated and service was great too! Will definitely return!
First visit, food was lush came out very quick maybe a bit of a break between courses would be good but other than that no complaints, will certainly be visiting again, salmon skewers an cheesy mushrooms are worth a try 😜
Would highly recommend. Food consistently good standard
The outdoor seating was lovely but the waiter was extremely rude and made no effort! We had to ask 5 times for the bill and took 40 minutes to come.
Service was excellent waitress went the extra mile and got some soya milk so my daughter could have a latte - the banana mess was heaven on a plate will definitely be back
Not a bad meal fish was massive burger was nice but a bit dry
So pleased to be able to dine inside again. Everything was as it should be, felt safe and secure. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was, as always top notch.
All of the waiters that served us were so friendly. The food was impeccable and the potion sizes were very generous! Will definitely be back.
Lovely afternoon. Felt very secure and tables very well spaced. Good covid safely.
I found that both my starter & and roast dinner were extremely bland.
The roast dinner especially I would say was quite basic.
Lovely staff and great food in a relaxed setting!
Beautiful food, nice atmosphere and attentive waiters and waitresses.
Also cocktails were excellent 🍸🍸🍸🍸
Lots of food choices
My pie was delicious and perfect in portion size
Very safely distanced inside which I really liked
Staff in masks . Polite and friendly .
Although staff needed the table they were happy to ask us just to move to the other dude if the restaurant an didn’t mind that we weren’t eating on that dude and just using the doscecdocuslly to drink after dinner
Lovely lunch with family.
Good service and food.
